Hey guys! I'm Allie. I stepped on the scale the other day and wanted to scream. It's time for me to make a big change in my life. I have 130 pounds to lose. I plan on blogging about my journey most days and am looking for a spark buddy or some sort of extra help and support.
Also, can I just say, I hate hate hate focusing my energy every time I start trying to get healthy, on the scale. I want to feel better and laugh more and not be as insecure anymore. I am doing meal replacement shakes and the "cize" exercise dvds to help me along. I'm on day 2 so yea... lets be spark buddies!

Hello everyone!

Well I joined Spark People a long time ago. In between then and now I have joined and left and re-joined multiple times. This time is going to be different. The app is much better now, and that suits my needs much more. Since the last time I had an account on here, I have graduated college and started my career as a teacher. I have been consistently going to the gym 5 days a week for the past 6 weeks. So here's to a better me!

Hi all! I joined SP 6 years ago, but then I didn't really do much with it. I'm back now. I'm 28 years old, I've been married for five years... and I want to start a family. I don't know if we will go the biological children route or adoption, but either way, I know I want to be much healthier than I am first. I've never been much of a "my clock is ticking!" type of person, but I think I'm starting to feel that a bit more. I feel like I have everything else in the world I could ever want- except a healthier body. I'd like to change that, but I also don't want to be unhealthy in my quest to be healthy. Does that make sense? So here I am. :)

Greetings Everyone!

My name is Jacqie (but feel free to call me Q). This is my first official time on SparkPeople. I've had varied success losing weight with other plans in the past, but none of them have been able to produce lasting results. I'm at a point in my journey where I'm ready to make some permanent changes to my lifestyle to rid myself of some (105!) unwanted pounds. Over the next two years, I've got multiple family vacations to join in on and want to be able to keep up with others during active times and want to feel comfortable spending time in a bathing suit. My first short term goal is to drop below 200 lbs by mid-May.

I'm always interested in meeting new people and making new friends, so feel free to add me or send me a message. Any tips and tricks you guys have discovered over your time here are also greatly appreciated. I look forward to talking with many of you over our time here at Spark.

I'm not losing weight; I'm getting rid of it. I have no intention of finding it again.

Greetings! I'm brand new to this site and so far I must say my first impression is a positive one. My name is Ashley. I am currently 24 years old and am residing in Florida. I work in child development and am pursuing my child development associate. Some of my hobbies include cross stitching, perler beading, & reading. I love animation. Everything from anime to Disney. It has been some of the most influential media to me throughout my life. I have trichotillomania and have struggled with it since elementary school as well as some anxiety troubles. My weight and health has been a constant battle for me ever since I can remember. I love to eat and junk food is often times my desired choice. I however have reached the point where I feel as if my weight and health is not only causing harm physically but also socially. I often times avoid things out of fear my butt will not fit int a seat or a strap won't reach over my stomach. I am tired of feeling this way and having this worry. I want to change my eating habits and make exercise a regular part of my daily routine. Ultimately I want to become the best version of myself that I can be. I've tried "dieting" in the past but this is the first time I am reaching out for support in this area. My current weight which is my highest weight is 296.3 pounds and I'm 5'9. My ultimate goal weight is 135 pounds so if my calculations are correct I have about 161 pounds to go to reach that goal. I look forward to getting more involved with this community and achieving my goals.

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this team and new to SparkPeople!

My name is Katie and I am 25 years old and I am from Lawrence, MA. I currently weigh 240 pounds which is my highest weight ever. I am looking to lose about 125 pounds in the end--I know it is a hefty goal but I would love to be at a healthy weight for my age and height!

I have been overweight since about the age of 18; so all of my adult life--I didn't gain weight like this until I went to college--I suppose instead of the Freshman 15 I gained the Freshman 50 (although it was over 4 years).

I am super motivated to lose weight not only to he healthier but also to look and feel better about myself. I am also getting married 11 months from today (June 26, 2016) and I want to be an even more beautiful bride. I mean, I have to look at these pictures forever right?
Fun Fact: I also already purchased my wedding dress and the fun part is; it is 2 sizes too small! So, if that isn't motivation I don't know what is. :)

Hey all! My name is Liz(24). I am a stay-at-home mom to a energetic toddler living in sunny FL. Hello everyone! My name is Stephanie, and I'm 23 years old. I have struggled with body image for the last decade. Ever since switching jobs in May 2014, going from a very active job to a very sedentary job, I've gained almost 60 lbs. This is the last straw! This is after losing around 20 lbs, and on top of weight that I already wanted to lose before. I'm 5'4" and have jumped up to 239 lbs, even though I don't necessarily look like it. Hi all!

My name is Krissy, I'm 26 from Chicago. My highest weight was 405. My starting weight on Spark People was 370. My weigh in this week was 367.4. I have PCOS and Hypothyroidism along with a new diagnosis (June 3rd 2015) of an autoimmune disease called Mixed Connective Tissue Disease (Cross between Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis). Hello everyone!
My name is Kristen. I am 27, wife and mother of two beautiful children!! After being pregnant a couple times has most certainly left it's mark on my body, mostly in pounds gained. Hi! I'm Kelly, I am 23, and I want to lose a total of 123 pounds. I recently got married and my husband and I tried to start a family. After many unsuccessful months I went to the doctor and found out that because of my weight there is no way I would be able to get pregnant or successfully carry a child to term. I have known for years that this would most likely be the case. (I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, PCOS, when I was 17) But it wasn't really real to me until that day. I have been trying to lose the weight since the beginning of March (when I found out the news) and so far I am down 23 pounds. Now I have 100 to go. My goal is to be 150 lbs. Technically a healthy weight for my body would be 115, but that number freaks me out so I am going for 150 now and I can adjust later. emoticon

Hey everyone! I'm Anya. I've been on spark before and it's worked for me in the past. I gained a lot of weight my last couple years of college and I've been struggling to lose it since. I moved home temporarily while I'm waiting for graduate school to start in a month, and I noticed I've gained 12 lbs since coming home a month ago! My mom is really obese and when I'm home she cooks a lot of unhealthy food. She used to criticize me for being too skinny when I was a healthy weight (140 lbs) in high school and college. I'm going to watch what I eat carefully and it will help when I'm able to move back into my own place in a month. Starting is the hardest part for me so, here it goes!

I used to be a football player when I was in school, played street hockey, softball, etc. I loved playing hard! Well, I was 135 lbs, when I was at the peak of my athletics in school...then I found out I was pregnant! I was so excited and I was terrified! Well, there was a different hand in the cards for me and I ended up miscarrying...I fell into a bout of depression and gained about 20 lbs in the months following. Well, we both split up and I was under a lot of stress from school, work, family, etc. that I didn't know I was pregnant again! Well, again fate had a different plan and I miscarried again...another wave of depression and I gain another 30 lbs. Finally, after many years I found the man of my dreams! We started dating and after a month of being together I got into a really bad accident when we went on a camping trip...I broke my back in six places and had to have surgery on my head from a really bad gash. I had cuts and bruises everywhere and I was in the hospital for 3 days and he never left my side. I went home and looked at myself in the mirror and cried when I saw all the cuts and bruises all over my body. I couldn't shower by myself, pick anything up off the ground, I felt so useless and hated myself. He looked after me and took care of me...I was in a back brace for 9 months and I ended up gaining 90 lbs! When I weighed myself I cried for hours. I recently went to the doctor and found out I am borderline per-diabetic and that scared me. So, I decided to take action! I wanted to join this site so I could get help from anyone who wishes to help me, get motivated, and get my life back in order. It took a lot to post this just now, but I want to be back to the old me again and stop feeling bad for myself! Please message me if you have any workout tips or healthy recipes. I am all ears! I am even thinking about starting workout videos for people who are truck drivers because my boyfriend who has now been with me for almost 4 years now is a truck driver and I workout sometimes when he is driving.

Hello, My name is wendy I am 25 and a mother of two boys, last month i went to the doctor and weighed in at 240 pounds, my home scale said 238 so thats the one ill go with since its the scale ill use most often. I have a goal to lose 108 pounds in the next year, i look forward to getting to know everyone here as we reach our goals. Would also love some friends to go on this journey with.

Hello, my name is Tana. I am currently living in VA Beach. If I lost 100 pounds, I technically would still be considered overweight. Only by like 10 pounds though. My goal is to drop that first 100 pounds or at least turn that fat into muscle.

Hello, my name is Vanessa and I am 26 years old. I am a stay at home momma living in south eastern New Mexico. I just started my weight loss journey yesterday. I started at 260.6 pounds and my goal weight is 130 pounds. This means I have to lose half my body weight, which sounds crazy to me! My husband is trying to lose weight too so I have support there but I figured some extra support would be great. I am looking forward to shrinking down with the rest of you! emoticon

Hi,

I'm Rachel. I am 27 years old and really need to loose about 140lbs. I've always been over weight. Can't really remember a time when I wasn't. I have been working with a life coach through Herbalife to help me loose some weight for a few weeks.

Hello, I'm Dora 25 needing to lose 120. I guess the main thing I am working on right now is strengthening my back so I am able to work out as needed. I can sneeze and it goes out. Anyway. I am planning on moving to the UK if all goes well and I want to be able to fill comfortable in my own skin so that transitioning will go smooth.
