Hi FITANDFAITHFUL1,
So ironic...I just finished a Body Gospel small group and it was the opposite of your experience. There was too much focus on weight, very little on nutrition and life-change fitness and even less biblical growth. I'm feeling a tap to lead a group once again and incorporate all of the above so the focus is on God and not only on the scale. It's tough to find a balance, but He will always provide it for us.
Best of luck on your journey for a more healthy you...the you, you were created to be.

Goodness, I didn't mean to suggest leaving this group! You can join multiple teams based upon various things that are important to you or may give you a connection with others. (And you wouldn't be here if you weren't a "40 something with 25-49 pounds to lose", so you're in the right place.) I'm currently on 8 teams myself.

I only wanted to make sure you knew there were teams where God as part of your journey is some of the focus. (Not everyone new realizes there are so many Teams.)

To get the ticker (weight chart), go to the main Spark Page. On the left under the START and "Welcome FITANDFAITHFUL1" is "Account / E-Mail Preferences". Click that.

There will be three tabs - pick the Community one. The sixth button on that page is "Signature & Ticker". Click that.

Now you can choose what information you want the ticker to show, and which background and icon. If you want, you can even add a signature - a quote you find motivational or even a scripture if you choose.

Last, try not to let the site overwhelm you. If you can't find something, just head back to the start page. The most important things are going to probably be the trackers and, if you have or make one, your SparkPage. Give yourself some time to explore and you'll find it gets easier with time.

Dear Blue42,

Thanks for sending me a message. I would love to stay with this group, but also find a faith-based group too. The more support, the better! I am alittle overwhelmed with the website. How do I find a faith-based support group? ALSO, how do I get the weight chart that you and so many people have? I have been looking and doing tutorials but I'm still kind of lost. You responding to me really encourages me. I was meeting in person with a few ladies for several years to focus on health topics and get on track with eating and exercise and we also had a Bible study too. But what happened is that the other women seemed to focus on the spiritual, but really lapsed on the physical. So I am reaching out to find others like me, who have a determination to live a healthy balanced skinnier bodied life.

emoticon to SparkPeople and emoticon to this Team!

I don't know if you've also joined any, but I know there are some faith-based teams out there. That would be a great way to combine the support with your faith.

Those healthy lifestyle changes add up over time - if you've been making small changes for quite a few years, hopefully you are healthier now than you were then.

I am 46 and I really love Jesus. I enjoy His love and His peace in my life even through all the storms and struggles. I know that I'm meant to be at a much lighter weight than I am. I've been on a health journey and I've been making life style changes for quite a few years, but seeing the number on the scale go down has been one of the toughest battles of my life. I need to hold onto God, but I also need a support group of people to cheer me on, offer wisdom from their own experiences, and I need accountability too. ALSO, I want to cheer the team on too! :)
