I signed up for this group in 2017 and I don't know if I've ever posted anything here. My husband and I are trying a plant-based diet for January -- no meat, dairy, oils, or sweets. No sweets isn't as bad as it sounds. I can have dark chocolate that's a higher percentage of chocolate, such as 60% or higher, and there is also something you can find in the store that's called chocolate nibs (the purest form of chocolate). My husband has found some plant-based ice creams! We learned about this diet from my cousin who decided to try it after he was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney disease and told that it couldn't be reversed. Within a month after he started the diet, he'd gone back to stage 2 and he was feeling more energetic and well. We are hoping for some health benefits as well as weight loss. I am down below my goal weight since we started this on New Years Day. My SP goal weight anniversary is around MLK day. I think it's been 8 or 9 years since I reached my goal, but I have sometimes been a little higher than 5 pounds over. To be under is somewhat unusual!

I started SP at 138 lbs in October 2010. My goal weight was supposed to be 125, which I reached on January 17, 2011. I went up some for a few years, but I started on a plant-based diet in 2020 and am now below my goal weight. I plan to stay on this diet for health reasons.
