I'm Amanda! I probably introduced myself when I joined the first time around, but I've been MIA for quite awhile.

A little about me: I just turned 30 in April. I'm the mom of a 2 year old boy (We named him Jack, but he has been calling himself "Nemo" or "Lightning" lately). I work as a nurse in the cardiac cath lab and interventional radiology, and I dabble in electrophysiology. The job requires me to take call, which can be stressful at times, but it's such a rush when someone comes in about to die and we prevent that from happening. I couldn't work this job with a little one without the support of my husband and extended family. It truly takes a village, and my village rocks!

My "Why": We would like to have another baby, but having the extra weight can add to pregnancy complications. I know it seems counter-intuitive, but I want to lose weight so I can gain it back for a healthy pregnancy. I want to be around for Jack/Nemo/Lightning, and I don't want to be the "fat mom" sitting on the sidelines. I also want to be an example for my patients. How can I tell people to make lifestyle modifications if I can't modify my own?

I have about 90 or so lbs to lose. I have a goal weight in mind, but once I get close I will make that judgment call.
