Hello -- I'm a new member of this team, but not necessarily new to Sparkpeople. I lost 12 pounds here a couple of years ago and it has creeped back up, so I'm back! I am fairly new to running though. I used to HATE it and then my church started a team for World Vision and ran in the 1/2 marathon in LA a couple of weeks ago. I actually couldn't make the 1/2 because I couldn't keep up with the training schedule. I'm not sure if it is just the logistics of training or just my lack of strength/core/cross that I sort of slacked on. I did run the 5K portion of the LA 1/2 marathon and got 4th in my division, so I was happy about that...but still disappointed that I wasn't up for the 1/2. I was hoping maybe I could find help/support here with some seasoned runners. It could also be that my weight is up a bit so that is dragging me down some. I am not giving up tho! Any help from you runners out that is appreciated!
