I've been at this battle for 2 years. At the beginning of the year I was 12 lbs away from my goal weight. By the end of July I was 5lbs away. After a week vacation, some family issues, and taking a month break from working out, and eating healthy I find myself back to 17 lbs over my goal weight. Need to get back on track and hopefully end the year closer to my goal weight.

I just had my second baby 5 months ago and I am stuck at 143. I want to lose 13 pounds and be 130 like before I had my second! I was 120 before my first but that was way too skinny for me since I am 5'9". I just bought a jogging stroller for the girls and I also have p90x, but I just have lost my motivation!

Hi i'm cheerhoney and I've been in a bit of a rut.I started in January 09 at 164.5 lbs and am now down to 148.5 lbs (lost 16 lbs). I want to get down to 130lbs which means I have to lose 18 lbs more, but my body seems to be doing what it wants and because of that I'm losing motivation and steam. Anyone has any tips for me. I'm open, but I really want to hit my goal weight in September 2009.

Hey my name is Jeanie!
I started 1/6/09 at 168 lbs. The first day I started to eat healthy. Then second day started working out with walking on the treadmill, then came power walks and finally my favorite running. Oh do a dash of recumbant bike, trying to do some strength training.
Currently 133.5 lbs. I have 8.5 lbs. to go. It's been amazing journey so far. It all started with my hubby say let's just do it, be serious and see what can happen. Right now I am kicking his butt, lol! Cool thing is my daughter is wanting to have this lifestyle change too.

Still at 137lbs for the past 2 weeks.
I started out back in April 2008 at 155lbs, over the past year I learned how to eat right and how not to think of dieting as dieting. I think of losing weight as a lifestyle change for the better and allow myself a treat now and again.

I plan on weighing myself next week Thursday. It's my last day of class so I can really focus on my body. I've been staying consistent with my workouts and I know I have lost an inch off my waist based off a random measurement I took yesterday so I'm not too worried. Hello! I am new to this team and really excited about it. I joined sparkpeople because I have been with my boyfriend for a year now...and it seems like alot of you, I got comfortable. So now I want to go from comfortable to fit. After christmas I was up to 140...now I am back in the gym and eating healthy and down to 127!!!! Still would like to lose another 7 lbs. My goal is to fit into this victoria secrets' black monokini by the middle of May...My boyfriend and I have been apartfor a month and a half due to visa's...(he lives in Italy) and I am going to visit in May and he is taking me to an island for 4 days, hence the bathing suit. And I don't just want to fit in the suit...I want to look hot and sexy..Don't we all want to be a VS Angel???!!!

Congrats on losing so much weight already, that's great! We share a very similar problem. My boyfriend can eat whatever he wants and doesn't gain an ounce. And he eats all junk! When I say junk I mean Hostess Twinkies for breakfast junk haha. It definitely is a struggle but he supports me as much as he can. Good Luck :)

Hi, everyone! I'm stephikat and I'm new to the team. My goal isn't to lose pounds, persay; the big picture is to get healthy, feel good about myself, and lose a little of the flab around my hips and thighs. Currently I'm 5'6 at 136lbs, but I'd LOVE to be closer to 120.

The biggest hurtle is staying both disciplined and motivated. My fiancé's eating habits are very /indulgent/; and it doesn't help that I manage a coffee shop filled with delicious, fatty pastries. Hopefully SparkPeople will help me stay on track!

hi been apart of this team for about 2 years and on and off sprak the last 2 aswell. i a m currently trying to lose body fat/weight for my europe trip starting july.

complete my personal training course by june 30

I am planning to go to the gym for a BF measurement either Sunday or Monday, whenever they can fit me in. I am a bit nervous because I know I am made of jello. emoticon It will be a good marker though. The VS challenge has got me off on the right track now and I am off to the races again. Just wanted to let everyone know that I ran 2.5 miles straight today, running a 10:30 minute mile! I've never run more than a mile at once... usually I'll walk for a couple minutes in between my miles, but today I decided to go until I couldn't run further without getting really winded.

I'm so proud of myself! the fun thing about not weighing in is that even if i gained or maintained my weight, I can celebrate things like this :)

Me too! After I promised myself, I was feeling really good this morning and expected to see results, so like an donkey, I got on and nearly had a fit. NOW I really mean it! No scale for a week at least, maybe 2! That thing just ruins my day.

ANyway, I do feel better, and I think I might be getting a bit of muscle back, which accounts for it going up a bit. I will just wait it out. I will win eventually.

I hope you have a great Monday! Mine is just about over and I still have to get a little exercise in tonight.

I think I'm going to join you on that, Sidney! I realized today that every time I weigh myself at the pool, I'm 151-152.... and then the next day I'll be at the gym and I'm 'suddenly' 156-157... I finally realized last night before running that one of the scales must be off, because there's no way I'm gaining 4-5 lbs every three days!

I've been panicking every time I see that high number on the scale for no reason, and I hate that I've been letting a scale dictate my mood.

Every time I expect to see some results when I step on the scale and I don't, I get mad and have a bad food day. Soo, I am not going to get on that scale for one week! You hear me right!!! I have NEVER done that before, except when I was too afraid to see what I already knew, that it was going up. I am going to focus on how I look in the mirror and feel in my clothes for a few days.

Weight is funny. Sometimes I have a big sudden gain for no reason, and then a huge drop, then it goes back up a few pounds, and then quickly goes down again. What a rollercoaster ride! Sometimes I think my scale is sneaking into the liquor cabinet when I am not looking emoticon

So, I over did the comfort food on my period and gained a nice pound back as a result of being a huge cookie monster! Darn emoticon s! But that is over now and I am really getting stoked for February. I am rejoining the gym on Sunday and taking the plunge again. I hope the VS challenge will get me going and keep me motivated and strong.

I hope all of you join in too. So far Maja and I are the only ones joining in on the thread. I think it is a great idea.

Alright, so the proof that I don't understand my body? I weighed myself after swimming, soaking wet and was 152 lbs. So... I don't get it, but I'm not about to complain about the loss.

I've been watching my sodium, and I'm always under 2.300 mg (except maybe once a month), and I'm really careful about what I eat most the time, so it's just funny to see that much of a difference in my weight without me changing *anything.*

144lbs today and still working off the end of my TOM. I hope by the time it leaves I will be back to where I was. I ate seriously badly over this one and got overly emotional for some reason. I guess just the stress at work is getting to me. I have to just get up and exercise when i feel stressed, not put cookies in my mouth! Stupid girl! emoticon

Red, maybe you are eating high carb meals late at night? Or too much salt? They do make a big difference. Also could be gaining some muscle. It all adds up. Make sure you are getting your water in.

ugh... 156 lbs today? I don't know how I apparently gained 4 lbs... I've been working out and eating right... so I guess I just need to keep at it. It was such a disappointing weigh-in today though :/

Well, I am back here again after being away for a long time emoticon

Anyway, 20lbs sounds about right. I would be super happy with 10lbs, but why sell myself short eh?

I ballooned up after the holidays emoticon but have managed to get back to my November weight. Now to get back to my summer 2008 weight emoticon and after that maybe some progress emoticon

Well, I am back to my old determination at the very least. emoticon

So, today I am 143.3lbs I hope tomorrow finally gets me to 143 emoticon emoticon

Well I am new to this team and I read a few posts. Pretty inspirational!
I gained 12 lbs from some medication I got put on in August. I was a comfortable 132 and now I am up to 144. Sooo depressing! My jeans are tight and my sleeves and I feel like jello.
The medicine made my joints hurt so bad it was hard to get out of bed. Exercising and moving were out the window.
I am on my last 4 weeks of the medicine and since my doc dropped the dosage, I have started working out again: no joint pain!
Looking forward to getting to know some of you and lose those 12 pounds!! I will also be graduating with my accounting degree in 5 weeks...more reason to lose it! emoticon

I'm up to 151 today... but I had a great workout both last night and tonight... Yesterday night, I lifted for an hour, ran for 15 minutes, stair climbed for 20, and was on the elliptical for 15. Tonight I swam a mile in 40 minutes :)

Muscles weigh more than fat, don't forget that. It's more important to see how the measurements change. Also, having more muscles burns fat even when resting.
In sweden, we talk alot about the high fat-low carb diets, there's been studies that show bigger weightloss with theese. This diet also had a positive effect on diabetes. If you havn't tried, cut out the carbs in your diet. Unburned carbs= stored fat.

Summer is near??? Up here we can look forward to atleast 4 more month of winter...

Hi, I'm new to the team (and pretty new to Spark People, as well--how do you get all that info in your message board signatures?).

I'm 5ft 2 1/2in and 126.4lbs. I'm down from the mid 140s when I was dating my ex bf a little less than 2 years ago. But I was at 123 2 weeks ago, so it sucks to see the increase.

My goal is to be about 110lbs, but as long as I reach a lean body fat % (currently around 22.5%), I'll be happy. I'm a new vegan, and trying to work out every morning.

only 7.8 pounds until I hit my goal, I CANNOT wait!.....well actually I can...cuz I have to...and I want to lose it right but I plan on not weighing myself til Sunday and sticking strictly to my new eating habits.....

I got rid of excess sugar, only eat carbs at one meal, and have replaced what used to be my usual once a week candy with fruit(mostly because I just did a term paper on Mars, Incorporated..you know skittles, milky ways, snickers, m&ms etc....and their candy is the only candy I found myself wanting, until I found out about their animal testing...I can't bring myself to touch any of it!)

Ugh. So I've gained some stress weight since the last time I weighed myself.... I'm back up to 154 lbs as of today, though TOM comes in a couple days, so maybe that's adding to it. I was shocked to see the number on the scale, because I'm still wearing a size 4/6 and nothing has really gotten tighter that I noticed...

so 154 lbs today, and back to hitting the gym and logging my food :/

Hi new here, but I have to say that weighing and measuring my food is the only thing that helps the overeating. Also tracking every morsel of food. I know it is a daunting task, but it is the only thing that works for me. I just ordered a cute pocket sized scale, so if I go out to eat I can weigh my protein portion and take the rest home!!

I have learned that. I tried eating both at the kitchen table and in front of the television. I tend to just eat what's on my plate when at the table than when I sit in front of the television.

Oo, the other thing I forgot to mention... don't do anything else when you eat. A lot of the time when I over eat, it's because I'm watching TV, or a movie, or just doing something at the computer. Eat consciously and that should help :)

Thank you. My computer is in the room near the kitchen. Mostly will drink tea or water when I'm on it. For some reason there are days when I tend to overeat.

I'd say portion control is the best thing... make it impossible to overeat. If you go out to eat, ask for half the meal to be boxed up *before* you start eating. Eat your veggies and protein first so you fill up faster, if you get a snack at night, count out the 16 crackers (or whatever the serving size is) and put the box away. If you can remove yourself from the kitchen or just stay away from the fridge, you'll do much better.

and then... Water! I drink so much because half the time I think I'm hungry, I'm actually just thirsty :) Good luck!

We have been posting our Sundays weigh-in on either 20 or Less to lose or 20 or more pounds to lose.

I picked sunday because it will motivate everyone to choose better choices not only throughout the week, but especially during the weekends.
