I reached Lifetime member status in 2005 following the Flex points plan. Life got in the way and emotional eating took it's toll. I rejoined 3 weeks ago with 122 pounds to lose and am giving Smart Points a fair try.

The weight is coming off slower, but as long as it's downward I'm ok with that. I am older and post menopause now so I am not expecting miracles, just slow and steady.

I have been a WW Lifetime member since the days of liver and 5 fish meals a week etc. I have followed every program change since. I am close to my new goal weight after many years. I briefly did Smart Points when it was released last December. Did not keep it up and tried other things instead. I have decided to really give Smart Points a chance and follow it!

Hi--my name is Charlene and I do the WW Simply Filling Technique (aka No-Count Option). Sadly not many WW know about this option of the official WW program. If you are curious you can find details (albeit sketchy ones) in the WW Beyond the Scale Your Plan Guide on page 62. More details can be found in the WW Pocket Guide (pgs34-39).

Hi,Team! I'm new to the team, but not to sparkpeople. It's been quite a while since I've felt motivated to start something new.

On Sunday I created a 21 day challenge for myself, to stick to my food plan, (I'm doing the old Weight Watchers plan PP) and earn 10,000 plus steps a day.

I have a binge eating problem and a sweets addiction. When I abstain from sweets, (candy, cake, chocolate bars, cookies and ice cream) I do well and I don't have the desire to binge eat.

My long-term goal is to lose 15-20 pounds this year and maintain it, which has been difficult for me to do in the past.

Today is Day 3, so far, so good! emoticon Thank you very much for this team. emoticon

Just started with WW a week ago, and just got back from my first meeting. I weighed at home this morning, and was 2 lbs heavier at the meeting - clothing will do that to me! :-)

I'm doing Simply Filling and meetings. I know I'm not a "track every bite and morsel" kind of person, so being able to eat things that I don't have to track works better for me. We'll see how it goes. From my starting weight at home till this morning, I've lost 2.2 lbs already, so I'm good with that.

I go to meetings and do Smart Points which is working very well for me. I have found since switching from Points Plus that eating sugar triggers an urge to eat even more so limiting it has been good for me. I am over 70 so losing goes slow for me but I am getting closer to my goal weight and feel much better. It has taken 9 months to get to where I am now but I will keep on since it is working for me.

Just started Smart Points. Same challenges I've had with other plans...I cook for myself a lot and it's a pain to calculate the points for homemade items, especially since I don't subscribe to the WW site or app (know myself well enough to know I won't cancel it on time). Lost more than 25 pounds with PP. Hopefully I can do the same and more when I get the hang of Smart Points. Last time, I was in charge of all my meals. Now I have a partner who often makes our evening meals, loves red meat and cheese but not vegetables do that's an additional challenge.

I did WW in 2014 for two months and lost 25 pounds then went out on my own. I went to Tops sometimes to weigh-in and lost another 10-15 pounds. I have been a Tops member since 1986 and it works too, when I put in the time and effort.

Joined WW Jan. 28, 2016, Gained all my weight back over the past six months. I have learned my lessons. I did NOT track. I know tracking works, I did it 20 years ago without a computer, points, just a book.

Tracking Now and will keep it up because it works Lost 8 pounds my first week, I will weigh in tomorrow and let the team know. emoticon

Linda, You'll benefit and hopefully enjoy so much from the meetings, much more than just doing it alone on line on WW site! emoticon emoticon

Well done Elanor Loosing 50 lbs is awesome! I understand why they say we can now eat more meat as the protien from meet will keep you feeling fuller for longer and in turn you won't want to eat rubbish or whatever in between your meals just because you are hungry. There is a science behind it I am sure. There are other ways to get protein not just from meat. Fish, eggs, nuts etc.. can all be great sources of protein. emoticon to Sparkpeople you'll love it here! emoticon

Hi

I am finally taking the plunge and joining Sparks People.

I am a WW member but have done nothing but gain since they changed the meetings to the "Raa Raa" stuff. I enjoy the people and the support but have not been that interested in being told that "well you can eat more protein" I do eat meat but don't need protein at every meal and snack. I like grains too. So am going to keep doing Points Plus, I lost 50 lbs on that and feel that I could live with that.

Am hoping that the Raa Raaing will settle down. Also liked keeping track of the vegs and fruit. I could make a game of that.

Thanks for listening and offering a place where I can talk about the WW program I am on.

Hello I was a weight watchers members many years ago and reached my goal weight. Left then put the kilo's on again. So have joined up this year and am really loving the new smart points. health Wise they make so much more sense than what was previously.

I attend the weekly meetings and find this the best way as I am accountable each time I weight in at the meeting. This works best for me. emoticon

. Hi I recently joined WW. I have tried it before but it didn't really fit with my lifestyle. I believe
the smart points version will work for me! You see, I am a Pescatarian (I eat seafood, but
no other meat). I like that the emphasis is more on healthy foods than on calories-that said
I still like my goodies-a lot!

Hello, I just started back with spark people after being away for almost a year and being on and off for five years. I also just started the old points on weight watchers because they worked best for me. Is this the place for me? I do the old points. My starter books say "turn around," I probably started that program originally about 15 years ago. It works best for me, when I am dedicated. I get 27 points at this time.

I always forget then have to ask someone. Would someone please tell me where to go to get the cute little weight tracker. Thank you.

Previously followed Points Plus (and occasionally SF) but when the program changed this week, I switched back to Simply Filling.

I hope that the hiccups with the website and Android app will get worked out soon, but have come to expect that is just comes with the territory whenever technology is involved.

Though I do pretty well with Points Plus (as long as I'm consistent with tracking), I have certainly had better success when I follow SF. And I honestly feel that I make better food choices following SF as opposed to just counting (I would reach for baked chips to go with my sandwich as opposed to a side salad/fruit/veggies).

On my first round of WW I had a lot of success with the Points program, so I am restarting on Points Plus. I am still figuring things out, but so far, so good. The website is a little messy right now, but hopefully they'll get some of the glitches sorted out in the near future. I'm excited to be back!

Ive dug out my points plus booklets and my three calculators and have decided to get back on program at home. Im down about 5 lbs this week. I am just starting over so need some accountability since I am not attending meetings. I have finally realized this program is about teaching me to be mindful and watch my portions of WHATEVER I eat. Im feeling good and trying to be disaplined. the restrictive diets are too stressful.

I am using Points Plus. I use all my daily points most days, a few of my weeklies, and occasionally all of them for a special occasion. I don't use my exercise points. I have learned just about how much of the free fruit and veggies I can eat each day and still lose, but tracking everything I eat on another site tracker for a week or so. Now I can enjoy the convenience of not having to track them and still know that I am within my calorie range to lose weight. I tracked it after I had eaten within my points, and I was pretty much right on every time.

I can do all things through Christ because he gives me strength. Phillipians 3:13

I like the one where you had a point range to reach during the day and if you wanted additional points, you had to earn them (exercise). Exercise points could be banked and used throughout the week. I lost weight on that one. I'm back now trying the points plus. It's been three weeks. The scale is down, but I don't believe it. It has to stay down for a couple of weeks before I will admit I lost weight. My weight fluctuates 5-7 pounds a day. I'm weighing at the same time wearing the same thing. Tomorrow is weigh in day.... we'll see how it goes.

I'm doing the turn around point system. I have the at home system from 2006.

I'm doing points now. I've tried every version since the mid-80s, when I hit Lifetime the first time (that was pre-points and pre-filling, etc.). When they first tried rolling into the modern era (meaning the last 20 years or so), they had a Fat and Fibre, which was very popular and stressed better (truly health-based, not only focusing on losing weight) choices. I gained IMMEDIATELY and went back to 1-2-3, which was the first points that I recall.

I've toyed with macros ratios (different percentages for fat, carbs and protein) due to weight lifting needing MUCH more protein and that is a great but difficult to cypher system (not WW, just fitness/ health) and as soon as you are doing something different physically, you really have to change macros, which is harder for me. I can cypher better than consume the right amounts. When I finally get something down pat, I'd have to change again. Anyway! WW Pts is great for a lot of reasons and it's not perfect for other needs or concerns, which is life, really! emoticon

Anyway! My last thing was just tracking my intake for medical reasons without paying attention to ANYTHING other than putting it all in to myfitnesspal (app for recording nutrition) and NOT paying attention is a problem for me, unfortunately!

I am doing Simply Filling, and love that it helps me default to healthier choices.

Most of my weight has come off with Simply Filling, but when I go astray I come back using Points Plus for a week or two. I like SFT because I do not have to count as much and I was eating too much processed foods, and sugar when on Pts+; overall, either way the program works!

I'm using the flex points program. That was the last one I was on before I moved to Arizona. I have not been attending meetings as I live in a remote area where there are none. So, I am doing this myself. I like the flex points. I earn points if I exercise. So, it works for me and it works when I track.

PointsPlus. I had used an older version in law school and had success with it, and now I'm back with PointsPlus. I need the accountability and structure of tracking. I think it really helps me to be mindful and deliberate with my choices.

Just to re-iterate how helpful ANY kind of food tracking is...

I've had some really bad days during my just over a month of WW, and some days even when WW is okay, the numbers on things at SparkPeople look scary. Yet I am still losing weight. What this means to me is that even though I had days when I knew I didn't each much at all while I was gaining weight, I must have had horrible days also where I ate much more than what I'm eating now while tracking.

But when I think of what my favorite snack foods were: salted sunflower seeds in the shell and pepperoni, I can understand why weight gain was a problem.

I struggled for years to let go of the old way of counting points, but I have finally accepted PointsPlus and I love that the fruit are zero points. emoticon emoticon

I'm using Points Plus. It really helps me be mindful of what, when and why I'm eating. I am a serious emotional eater and I still have days where I am so far off my points I lose count but I just take it one day at a time. emoticon emoticon

I just started in the last 2 weeks, but I'm using Points Plus. I think anything that just makes me really pay attention to what I eat is a great help.

I am terrified of trying to figure out a full restaurant meal, but so far no big problems with the plan. Just my emotional freak-out on Friday that lead to eating the world.

I have to track in both places at the moment because I need to watch sodium, but I've been using SP to make some of the figuring at the WW site easier. And trying to figure out what to do when my trial to the WW site runs out. We can't afford to continue it.

I follow an old points program that they used to sell in an at home kit. When I follow it, it works.

I still count exchanges. There were several exchange plans over the course of 20 years before Points, I don't know the name of which one I follow. I think in exchanges like a second language. I don't need a nutrition tracker: exchanges take care of it for me.

I'm doing PointsPlus. When I started it was flex, then momentum. I've changed along with the change at WW and I lose when I track and stay within my points allowance.

I do Points Plus, and when I'm on track, it really works! I like that fruit and veggies are zero points. I try to not abuse it, but there's something I find comforting about knowing that even if I'm out of points, I can still eat something if I really need it.

I've done older WW plans in the past, but this one is my favorite!
