Hey my name is Laporscha im 23 years old 5'5 at 155.5 and im back to lose weight and tone up, feb 2010 i came here at 176 and my goal was to get down to 135 and i did by July 2010 I was happy but not as happy as i thought i would be because i didnt have the shape of my dreams due to the fact i didnt do much weight training but i maintained my weight with exercise and counting calories then i started working more and started slacking early 2013 thats when i hit the 150's again im upset because im in the middle now i can either keep slacking and end up in the 170's again or get back on track and be in the 130's again i also do club promoting and model a little now i dont look bad in the 150's but i can look better in the 130's so im back to kick some ass i missed u girls and guys

Hello All, my name is Marissa. I am 18 and turning 19 in February and I have always been overweight. I reached my heaviest weight (about 280 lbs, and I am 5'8") in middle school, and have been struggling to lose weight since about 7th grade. I got down to about 180 by my Sophomore year of High School, but I have since gained about forty pounds, putting me back around 220. I hate that I have put so much weight back on, but whatever. . . Being fat has always been an issue with me, as I have a fraternal twin sister who is my polar opposite: blonde, thin, and petite. I, by comparison, am Sasquatch. It's not her fault, I realize, and I'm dealing with it.

Anyway, I joined SparkPeople late last year, and I am hoping to lose 60 pounds by August of this year. Wish me luck!!

Hi my name is Krissy and I just turned 18. For years now I've been trying to lose weight, reached 190 in either 8th or 9th grade, obviously I'm not happy to admit that. I mean on the outside I look maybe 170 or so. But wearing a size 18 jeans in junior high isn't a delightful feeling to me. My whole family is pretty much over weight so I really get no encouragement to try to change. I would sorta exercise sometimes n try tracking food and stuff on various websites, I'd just always forget to use them n just stop eventually.

And so the previous summer my mom and I were going walking at the local park with a friend of hers who had recently lost 80 pounds every weekday. He was an inspiration, he was amazing and I was seeing changes in myself, I was exercising at home when we wouldn't go walk n I had lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks.

Then mom decided we had to stop going until the weather stopped being so hot..I was doing alright on my own, lost about 12 pounds and a pants size..then senior year started of course I became busy and stressed out with school n was slacking on my working out.

I really want to break this cycle of never changing. I went from 190 to 178 over the summer and am now at 183. I really need to learn to control all this n get used to actually sticking with this.

Goal is to go from a size 16 to an 8. There's no limit on when I need to reach this but eventually I will.

Hi Everyone! My name is Helen and I am 18 too turning 19 in March. I have never really been happy with my weight and I recently gained a lot of weight in my senior year of high school. I went from a size 4 to a size 12 in jeans. I was a really bad emotional eater but I have gotten that under control. But, I still eat way too much sweets! I really want to be fit again and toned. I have been doing a lot of work the past six months on truly getting to the root cause of my emotional eating and I am happy to say I have done it. But now, i need to focus on eating healthy, whole foods and limit the fattening sweets! Anyways, it's really nice to be on this team and hopefully I can get to know some of you!:)

Hi Everyone! My name is Shawna nd im 19 years old turning 20 next month. I've always struggled with my weight but never had a problem with my confidence. Last year I did the Jenny Craig diet for 4 months and lost 30 pounds. I started at 170 and was down to 140 pounds. Since I stopped doing Jenny Craig (due to the amount of money it cost and the anti-social feeling that eating out of a box 3 times a day gave me) I ended up gaining 50 pounds in one year and am now up to 190 pounds. I am now struggling with confidence issues. I am ready to lose some weight to gain my confidence back. I don't wish to be anything less than 140 pounds (keeping in mind im barely 5' 2"). I don't want to be the skinny girl I just want to feel good in my own skin. Looking for friends and I already feel better sharing my REAL story with real people instead of trying to hide my struggles...

Hey, I'm Ariana and 18, going to be 19 in four months. I've been on here a little more than a year. I've been on the site on and off, and want to make some real progress that sticks this time around. I have about 10 more pounds I want to lose and keep it off permanently. Hi! I'm Stephanie. I'm new to SP, just signed up today. I'm wanting to lose at least 70lbs by July. In high school I weighed 150lbs. I didn't think I was fat by any means, but I wasn't ever happy with where I was. Now I'm 21 and weigh 220lbs. I'd love to be back at 150! My best friend is getting married July 4th, and I'm wanting to be down to my old weight by then. I've kinda been dieting for the past few months, but I haven't been seriously motivated about it, so I haven't really much of anything.

I'm Rosie, I'm 18 too. I'm always bouncing between exercise and no exercise, so I made an account here, and I'm going to stick with it! I weigh 53 kilos, but I really want to get down to 43 kilos soon, hopefully before summer.

My exercise routine is consisting of
-running 7km each day
-doing 100 crunches each night
-walking if it it takes less than 45 mins to walk places

Hi, I'm Elisse, I'm 18 and I'm ready to lose weight and have it stick this time. I'm the queen of yoyoing back and forth. Of course, I didn't really know how to do it right, I was going at it with no real structured plan and no support system. My friends are great, but they talk the talk without walking the walk with me. They just go on a 'diet' for about a week before giving it up, so pretty much they just go anorexic for a week before going back to junk food. They just don't get it. I'm looking for a group that understands, is there to support me, and doesn't bail on me after a week. Which is why I'm excited to start working with sparkpeople, I think I can figure out how to succeed and to maintain that success here.
I'm around 200 (the terrifying official first weighing will happen soon), and I'm looking to be around 150. Since I'm built stocky and curvy, with big bones, chest, etc. it's hard to judge. I'm not looking to "get skinny" (although that part I won't mind ;)), I want to get fit. I want to be strong, have a strong and fit body that's healthy and all that. So with the muscle and all that I'm not sure how much I will weigh realistically or what I want to weigh, I'm going for more of measurement changes and getting healthy. So I'm looking for buddies and guidance in my journey to be the best me I can be :) People to challenge me and help me through everything

Hello everyone.

I am 18 years old, a pre-university college student at the Brunei Darussalam (part of Borneo, near with Malaysia and Singapore). I have lost few kilos since last year and my weight and height is normal and ideal as for now which is 81kg and 189cm.

However, I am struggling to look good. Hence, I want to lose more pounds and shape up everything especially my face.

Below are the workouts that I have been doing since last year (October 2011):
- Les Mills Body Combat - 50 minutes
- Treadmill - 50 minutes
- Brisk Walking - 40 minutes
- Air Walk - 30 minutes
- Strength workouts - 10 minutes

*waves* Hi guys! My name is Lyana and I'm 19 years old. I previously had an account with spark teens but never really did anything with it so I'm starting fresh! I've been heavy most my life- from about 8 years old and on. I was at my heaviest at 15 ( in late 2008) hitting some 250 pounds- my warning to lose immediately. After lots of yoyo-ing and failed plans that just weren't for me, I managed to lose around 35 pounds in 3 years. This year I plan to do what my body tells me is good instead of these popular diet plans and drop some more weight! I hardly know what "normal" weight is, but I hope to see what I look like when I'm closer to it!

Hi there!

My name's Sarah and I've just finished my freshman year of college. I've always been "bigger", despite being a fairly competitive athlete. I just recently was diagnosed with sports induced asthma, and feel like a whole new level of possibilities has been opened up to me. An inhaler is going to allow me to work harder for longer (especially since I could never really challenge myself for very long without wheezing or getting out of breath until now). That started me thinking, and I've decided that this summer I'm going to go really aggressive after my weight.

I want to lose weight to be able to compete better as a goalie- it'll help me stay faster, quicker, and stronger. I want to lose because I'm tired of always being the "bigger" friend, tired of worrying whether I'm hurting someone when I sit on their lap, tired of being ashamed that I can't share clothes with my roommates, and tired of always being put in the "friend zone" first because of my body. But most importantly I'm tired of feeling just uncomfortable within my own body. By the end of this summer, I'm hoping I can change all of that. We shall see.

Hey! I am Olivia. I am 19 and a freshman in college. Everyone knows how college goes.. the "freshman 15" creeps up on you when you don't even realize it! I thought I was beating the freshman 15 going to the gym everyday and eating healthy.. but stress, snacking, health problems, birth control and alcohol all made me loose control of my weight. My name is Jessica. I'm 21 :) I'll be 22 in November.
I never really had a problem with weight before. I had my daughter in 2008. I decided it's time to get back into shape!! I am currently weighing in at 185lbs :( My ultimate goal weight is to be 120lbs (hopefully in November or December 2011). I would like to be at least 130-135lbs for my wedding (October 1st, 2011)

Hey everyone!

My name is Shay and I have been off on diets for majority of my life. I have always been overweight. Sometime around the age of 16 when I was at my highest, I spent a whole summer eating right and trying to stay active. I lost a good amount of weight and then unfortunately gained it all back, plus more. So steadily I have been going back and forth over the years and now I am just at a point where enough is enough I NEED to do something about it. I am only 21 years old. I have my life ahead of me and I'm ready for my weight to stop holding me back from my full potential.

hi everyone. Im Maura and im 19 from Ireland. I think this team is great! and its good that we can all talk to each other about our own experiences and struggles. Its good to get advice and talk to our peers about something like weight, because through my own experiences I feel alot of people dont get me, which i find it very hard to keep up a good healthy lifestyle, when everyone around me is abusing there bodies. For that reason I find it hard to be healthy myself and try to lose weight. Ive recent reached 176 pounds and im devastated so I need to find a stop to getting any bigger. I want to get to 145 pounds!!

So i didnt know really where to introduce myself... but here goes. My name is MJ, I am an 18 yr old senior high school student and i am getting ready for college in september. I am on the senior soccer team as a left defense, I like snowmobiling, fourwheeling, swimming, snowshoeing and hiking and i am interested in business and accounting and going to school for both... I really want to loose weight as I am sick of tired of the teasing, the insults, the laughing and the low self esteem and looking at the scale and seeing big red numbers reading "235". hi i'm hilary. i followed spark people a few years ago and lost all the weight i wanted to, however now that i'm at college it's been much harder to lose the weight i gained while i let myself go.
i'm now around 160 and i'm ready to go and get back down to around 130.
i think it'd be a huge help to have a weight loss buddy!

I'm down here in Florida. I'm new to sparkpeople and at the wonderful age of 19. I lost weight at the beginning of this school year (opposite of the freshmen 15) but stress (from school, broken down car, stolen wallet, and an ulcer)kinda got me off track. So, hi! emoticon

I was older than most of the seniors of my high school and went to the bars often - it was definitly a good time, BUT I gained my freshman 15 a tad earlier than everyone else, so here I am at 140 lbs. It was also a big blow when I could barely fit into my grad dress back in June. My ultimate goal is to lose the weight by April(ish) because I want to look good when I visit my family in the Philippines next summer.

hellooo, I'm Nicole and I'm 19. At my highest I was 165, I lost 20 lbs and was stuck at 145 for a couple years. I'm sick of diets that don't work, and ready for losing weight the healthy way. I love this site, and I've lost 11 lbs in the 3 months of being a member. I want some friends, so I hope this group gets more active!! We could all use the support

My name is Jaime. I am 20 years old, will be 21 in July. I currently weigh 185 pounds. I am hoping to lose at least 20 pounds by June 15th and an overall lose of 60 pounds. I created this group because as there is many groups for people in their 20s, and also alot of groups for people 18-19, there is none for the two combined. I feel that people have the most in common from 18-24. Therefore I made this group. Most the times when you go into the groups for 20somethings, you are the youngest person there if you are in early 20s, so why not have a group that is just for you? I am very open to any suggestions you guys have regarding the group so feel free to message me anytime!
