Hi new to the team but not new to Spark been on here two years have lost 37 pounds. Have been off track this week need some thing new to get me back on track. I live in CA and am married and in my 50's. I take lots of walks and do push ups most every day.

I also row 2x a week with my woman's crew club and bike with my woman's riding group.. thought I would join this team for extra motivation and a challenge

Hi Team!

I'm new to this team and have been with SP for a while. I have already lost 25 pounds, a lot of it with this site's help...and motivation. However, I have found myself lacking the go go lately as I was getting bored with my normal. I am looking forward to getting back to it and this team sounded like a great way to do it.
I turned 50 this year, changed my career about a year and a half ago and started the journey to losing weight. It's all good, and it's all moving forward.
I look forward to the challenge, I look forward to the motivation. I'm going to go back to the "how to use this team" string and see what is up for this week. I'll try to catch up,

I'm in my 50's also and it is a lot harder to lose but it is doable. Things like The 5 minute challenge are what I'm hoping will keep my motivation up.

i'm 'kinda new'. i've been using spark for 2 yrs. to keep up with my eating/ calories, tracking my exercise and just reading for encouragement.
until now, i haven't really joined or gotten involved in any team or blog or anything.

i want to commit to the 5 min challenge to start with! and who knows what else!

i'm at a plateau and need to do something different and this team sounds like a great place to start!
thank you to whoever comes up the daily challenges. i know that must be hard sometimes.

New around here, or at least learning this time. I joined some time ago but just could not give the time I needed to really get the feel of things, or get them going. I just graduated with a bachelors degree and decided that it was time to get back to me.
I am single with a wonderful son who is helping me stay on top of things and get I into shape.
Still trying to figure how everything works and how to make me time during the day to do what I need.
I enjoy doing crafts, reading, and spending as much time as I can with my son.
Any ways nice to meet everyone.

Hi! I'm Jenny, and I've developed a pretty good habit of daily walking. I'm joining the team in hopes of adding a strength training habit to my daily routine, as well. Five minutes a day seems like a doable goal, so here I am. The hope is that I can start with that and grow from there.

Hi everyone, I,m Lorna and I need to lose approx 40lbs. i,m doing ok with the occasional blip. I live on Zakynthos in Greece and it,s getting hotter by the day but I,m determined to try and keep up my walking regime.
I want to be able to play with our Grandchildren (2 and one on the way) and enjoy what little time I spend with them,they live in England, so this is why I,ve decided to get a grip of things.

I have 101 lbs to lose and could use some support along the way. Since reaching my 50's it's been a real challenge to get any weight off. But I know with hard work and determination, I will lose all I need to lose to get back the body I know I have under all this fat.

Hi Jackie,
I just signed up for Spark yesterday and am learning to navigate. I"m 50, have two kids and used to be a professional but am now not good for much.
I passed 200 for the first time since I was pregnant, and it's gotten me freaked out.
I have arthritis and other orthopaedic issues that prevent lots of walking until I'm more fit.
I also have ear problems that make swimming problematic --
And getting to a gym or pool? I've been working with depression for most of my life, and if I could just get out the door to the gym every day, I wouldn't need spark people.

Looking for a team with this type of approach and here you are! I have mobility issues and long cardio exercises (i.e. walking) are a no no right now. Also, I finally have given up on gym memberships. It is a complete waste of money as I simply do not like going to the gym. And what happens is I just don't exercise because I do not like going to the gym. emoticon

So, it is great to have a team that utilizes online resources.

Oh, I am from Southern California, divorced and no children. My weight goal is not clearly defined in terms of pounds. My goal is to say good by forever to plus size clothing and to wear a size with one digit (i.e. 9, 8, 6).

I have been overweight so long, that it takes pictures to remind me of my thin days. I do know that the accountability to others (Spark People) has renewed by efforts to reach my goal.

I look forward to getting know everyone.

Hi, I'm Beni and new to the team.
I read an article and joined SP in Aug. 2012 but didn't do anything with it.
Sept. 17th I decided to get busy. I lost 19 lbs but early Dec. my M-I-L broke her hip. I would go to the hospital first thing in the morning and come home late at night. Eating was just grab and go. Then the holidays came, still being at the hospital my eating stayed the same only gaining 5 pounds. So I am at 14 lbs lost.
Poor excuses? Yes. Could have stayed on track? Yes. Point is I didn't so I'm back to getting busy. Mom is home and doing well.
I look forward to the challenges on the team but mostly in myself!

Hi! I'm new to the team but not SP, which I joined in Sept 2012. Another Spark Friend did an Spark Advent calendar in December, it was fun to do the exercise everyday that was in the calendar. Unfortunately I got sick about 1/2 way through and wasn't able to finish it, hoping nothing happens that I can't meet the challenge here.

Been a member of Sparkpeople for 4 years...on and off....but never totally left. This Team 'sparked' my interest. I can always make time for a 5 minute challenge and this year 2013....I've decided it's all about small changes adding up to equal big change!
I need something new to add to my routine which is very doable!

I'm 56 years old and carried an extra 80-100 pounds around for about 20 years (since having kids). I lost 40 and have kept it off for over a year, but I'm having a hard time getting any further. I don't expect to ever lose all of it at my age, but I'd like to drop another 30, at least. I'm excited about this team and especially like that there are 2 challenges. I plan to do the easier one and try the harder each day.
