Hi - I did that! I turned 50 last year, and ran my first marathon....it was GREAT! I had run a couple half-marathons, and decided I wanted to kick it up a notch! The training was intense, but I was very dedicated and managed to stick to my schedule. I didn't run the fastest marathon....but I ran it! The other runners were so exceptionally supportive and wonderful....when the going got tough, there were other runners to cheer me on! Good luck on your goal! I have to say, it was worth it!

Hi everyone

emoticon

I've been a Sparky a few years now.

I live in the Midlands, UK and instead of doing the typical big birthday bash or once in a lifetime stuff I decided a challenge is more me. I will be fifty in 2015.

Last time I ran was 2.7k in March 2013 in 20 minutes (small incline) so I have a long way to go. I also have an odd though mild fear of running in the streets. I'm now looking for a programme to get myself moving, first gym bound improving my strength and stamina - then out on the streets for endurance.

Well that's me.
