Hi Nola, this is just a thought. You could post notes in spots that are detromental to you. Like infront of a mirror, or on the frig. Also keep a journal(easier said than done) and you can go back to reading it when you get discouraged and can recall the time when you were positive and that can act as a catalyst for you. I find it important to write this to you because I need to do the same.
Good luck and God bless.

Judi

I love your quote- that is my fave quote and I use it all the time. I just wish I would apply it better.

Thank you all for the kind words. I know in my heart that I don't deserve to be unhappy with my body and that my health is important; but how do you make yourself remember that and honor that when the cake is staring you in the face?

I am great with motivating myself to begin, it's the after a few months part that gets fuzzy and I start reaching for my old habits. I want to recognize AND stop that from happening this time long before it becomes the problem at hand. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I totally understand that roller coaster feel but i learned more about myself and stress and frustration, i learned to blog or write about it in my journal taking the time to myself, i was off a little bit but my damaged stayed within 5# and then I was able to get back on track easier and didn't stay down for a long time. Welcome back you can do this. We all can just keep pushing and never ever give up!

Hi Nola! Welcome back for good this time! I've gone the yo-yo route. I usually get "tired" of it after I lose about 40 pounds. That, plus the endorphins from losing 40 pounds makes me feel invincible and I eat..and end up gaining it back. This time I've lost 66 so far, and every pound I have left is just seen as soon-to-be-gone.

You'll get there, just hang on!

Oh my gosh, that's exactly what I've done! I joined at 320, dropped to 289, and stopped for a while. Then I went back up to 304 and started back up again!

I've started back because I found myself thinking about Gastric Banding. I went to an info seminar, and they made it pretty clear that after the surgery I'd be following a very strict food regimen (i.e. diet) for months.

I figured, heck, why don't I just "follow a very strict food regimen for months" and skip the surgery! So here I am!

Anyway, welcome back!

My personal worth has nothing to do with my abdominal girth!

Hello all!

My name is Nola. I have come to sparkpeople for the 2nd time this year. I started out in January at 321 lbs. thru March I made my way to 297 lbs. and got really comfortable and now here I am in August at 313 lbs. I'm returning with a different thought process, this time its not about comfort this time its about making myself REALLY uncomfortable. I'm learning that I need to push myself to do things that are different than I've done; doing things the way I've always done them has pushed me to weighing 313 to be exact.

I'm ready to find my skinny chick; I feel her inside now I want to see her outside.
