Hi Nancella! Have you taken any more steps toward surgery? How is it going for you these days?

If you have not done so, attend a WLS seminar, which most hospitals host at least 1x / month. They will cover the various procedures available, plus you get a chance to ask questions, etc.

I was 54 when I had the the LapBand procedure done (2011) and it was for me one of the best decisions I ever made! Within 7 months I was under 200 pounds for the first time in AGES, and got to my goal weight of 179 in early 2013. Pretty much stayed there since then...

But the seminar is the best place to start...

Good luck!

hi there - I am almost 54 years old and looking forward to my retirement next April! I have been contemplating having weight loss surgery for about 6 months now. I am fearful that it won't work for me... I've been on the journey trying to lose weight since I was 10 years old and would love for something to work so my health might improve. I have Fatty Liver, Fibromyalgia, PCOS, Insulin Resistance, Arthritis, Type 2 Diabetes, GERD, Asthma and the list goes on and on! I would love to begin my "golden years" in a healthier place with better mobility!!!
