You have taken the first step by using SP to help you lose weight and get fit. Now,the site also includes help with menu planning along with nutrition. When you go shopping, make a list. This list should include lots of fruits and vegetables, along with good proteins. You may want to buy some inexpensive granola bars for those trips to your SO's parents house...or the packages of Crisps, which your daughter would also love... Crisps are dehydrated fruits and vegetables that are low in fat and sugar, but are good to boost your food on those "travel" days. I carry them in my bag. Measure your servings for your portion control. I found that since I do that, I have more "left overs" to make my food stretch until my next shopping trip. I buy canned goods, like a variety of beans, kidney, garbanzo, pinto, white beans, etc. They are a nice low calorie addition to salads or soups. A can of diced tomatoes will also brighten an otherwise drab plate. Brown rice is a nice low fat carbohydrate that will stretch a food budget quite nicely. A bag of small potatoes will also lend themselves nicely fot any meal as they cook quickly. Let your SO see your list and help you pick out some of the things he really wants to have available. Let him know that you want to be that "sexy babe" he fell in love with, and to do that you need to eat healthy all the time. Does he need to lose a couple of pounds? If so, perhaps he would like to join SP, too!

I do understand being shy around his family, I had the same problem, and I was actually married to their son!... Once your SO sees your commitment to eating right, he will (er, he should) chime in with support for your new program.

Hi, I'm new, for a few weeks now...at first i didn't get the hang of singing in everyday, but now i do...then i didn't get the hang of exercising and noting what i have eaten the whole day..but now the nutrition i kind of have the hang of...i guess you can say i am on a budget...sometimes maybe not...its just my SO rushes me through the Grocery store Fast. and a lot of the times i forget the stuff i really need. i would go myself but i live in the middle of nowhere where i have to wait for him to take me to the store. (sometime in the future when i do get my own vehicle all this would not be a problem) and i always have a list. but cant always get the stuff i want or need. mostly need now for my decision of loosing the weight.

I hope there is someone that understands my problem. but i kinda feel that there might not be anyone. because a certain % of people lives in a town/city where they can easily walk to the store themselves and/or drive their own vehicle....me i am dependent on my SO. I don't think i mind to much. just wish i wasn't so dependent...i just have to wait it out for a while. (another note...i cant just ask someone else to pick me up just so i can go shopping...everyone else has plans...working and such)

my problem is i know i have somethings that are good for me. and some that are not. but most of the time i cannot put things together well or at all to make a meal. plus when i clean all day lately for spring. i would like something quick and easy...mostly where i don't have to cook.

any ideas? for quick and easy? and with just a few ingredients? and what do i do when i only have very very few ingredients for a few days.


sorry for the questionable hello....i just was not sure where to post my questions...plus i am new to this site...should help me some since we are sometimes on a budget for food.

oh yeah i forgot to mention i think that on my nutrition charts, i am always going all around my goal....up and down and up and down and up and down....sigh. i just cant get it right...sometimes my SO would take me to his parents and when i am there all day i just cant go to their kitchen for something to eat...i just dont eat much all day when i am there. i do bring snacks sometimes if i remember for my daughter...they always serve her...they tell me to dig around, but i am always scared...its not my kitchen. after three years of knowing them i still cant shake off this shyness that i feel around all of them. crazy huh?
