I have been watching a TV info commercial on the 8 hour diet. Actually for couple years in January it comes on my TV then disappears. They are trying to sell their diet program.

They are suggesting to change your regular meals, that one may presently be consuming too many high calorie carbohydrates. Their plan is to balance high calorie carbohydrates with lower calorie carbohydrates. Which a person would do with all three meals.

Example: Fat Person Breakfast

6 pancakes (6 inch pancakes)
1/2 cup syrup
2 tbsp. butter
4 sausages

Suggestion: Their Weight Lose Breakfast

3 pancakes (4 inch pancakes)
3/4 cup fresh or thawed cup of strawberries [this replaces the syrup]
1/2 cup yogurt [ replaces the butter and sausages]

Snack frugally through the day with low calorie foods.

Exercise in small segments through out the day.

For the other two meals they suggest similar switch tactics
Smaller portions, and less high fats and carbohydrates = lower calories

The diet makes sense - but anyone can do this program without their cost. Just perhaps a little more time consuming, to learn the nutritional value of what we put in our body each day.
Their exercise of wee segments of time, makes sense to me, if one can not seem to be enthusiastic or have the time for longer duration of exercise.

I say they forgot a few things, in the info commercial -

Reward yourself in small ways for pounds lost, or inches lost, with out food but other little things. If you never buy a bouquet flowers or whatever, treat yourself once a week or once a month with a goal to reach.

I lost 165 lbs to reach my goal weight. If I didn't go back to my old ways the first time around, but second time around was soo much eaiser. I had gained experience in the world of nutritonal foods and learned to like healthier choices. That's the key word "Choice" we all have a choice and the power to change, if we choose take a different direction.

"The 8 hour diet"by David Zinczenko with Peter Moore
I am reading this book. I have not gone far with it but what he is advising is for a person to eat what they want within an eight hour time frame and fast the rest of the day and night (16 hours that is). Then you exercise for 8 minutes every morning and eat 8 so called super foods which are ordinary foods such as turkey, eggs, yogurt and berries (to name a few). I have been on this diet this past week and I am dropping a pound of weight every other day. I am not sure if it is the diet or other previous workouts. With this diet, you really do not deprive yourself of food; you eat what ever you want but it has to be within the eight hour time frame. Any comments or advise??
