Hello All,

I am a chemistry teacher from Quincy, Massachusetts. Geocaching has always interested me, hoping to get more info from you lot.
I am not new to SPARK but have been on a long break from it. I am back to get in shape for the upcoming soccer season and all seasons to come, I hope. I pull a hamstring two years ago and sustained a severe concussion last year. These injuries sidelined my workouts and when the workouts went so did the good eating. I have been tracking my food for the past two weeks...down 5.7lbs. So I am hoping to find support again from SPARK and get in back my youth......

Hi,

From Connecticut. I've been Geocaching for about 3 years. I am not a regular cacher, but do it from time to time. When I travel, I try to find at least one. My kids love it!

Hi! I am from Montana, have been caching for about 4 months now and have become a geocaching addict. I am ... finding it challenging looking for caches in the snow and not leaving any tracks, the cold has not helped either. All tho, unlike other areas in the country, I am used to it :) ...

Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.

Welcome Karlew! We would love to do the more difficult caches! Our plan is to buy kayaks this year so we can get the local island caches and bikes so we can do the bike trails. We swam a channel to get a cache last year while on vacation. It was such a rush and so much more fun than the urban caches, though we do those a lot because our kids like finding them. We are currently on a daily streak. We are at day 298 as of yesterday.

Happy Caching!

Hi there, My husband and I have been caching for about 4 years now. We try and specialize in way off the beaten track nature hides. If it's up high, through several kilometres of bush or out on an island in the middle of a remote lake chances are we have found it or have it on our "to do" list. We have done some urban caching but really don't enjoy it as much. We were big into hiking and canoeing before we discovered caching, this added yet another highly enjoyable dimesnsion to our outings. We discovered it purely by accident. Out hiking one day my husband just happened to spy a green box hidden inside a hollow log. That was our first cache. We wrote down the website address and a week later we bought our first GPS. Been blissfully caching ever since.

Hi everyone! My family and I have been caching for almost 3 years now. My hubby and I take the kids out when we can, and they love it! The kids just recently set up accounts of their own. We have about 3200 caches found and have placed about 50. We are currently trying for a 366 day streak. We're on day 218. My hubby does most of the caches on his way to work. It's rough with the snow, but he's managing.

We also started a website called Geocachers Anonymous. http://geocachersanonymous.com/

Hi!
First off cmw714 I wish you and your family luck on the geocaching. On your trip and on random caches.
I wish everyone luck on their caches.

If anyone knows of any close to stone/taney counties in MO, I would love to know so maybe me and my dad (crazywelder) can get back into it!

Hi
My family and i are rookie geocachers but we are really enjoying it. We have a cross countries (yes 2) move pending in 6 months and we are already planning our route so we can set up our geocache route along the way. Hopefully at least 100 caches along the route with a couple 3-4 star difficulties. We have a couple picked out in Canada and Alaska to do.

Hi fellow cachers. I love caching with my husband and little ones. We haven't found a cache in a while because we have been too busy placing hides.

I would like to find a couple of caches near Niagara Falls that are in caves. I just need to find some other cachers that would like to try for these caches also. It will be a great workout. My husband doesn't like the idea of all the bat poopy in the caves so he is out for this find. emoticon

Hi Everyone! I currently live in Maryland. I just started caching last Feb, and I'm hooked (over 600 caches so far). I joined sparkpeople in August. I'm hoping the two will help keep me active this winter, always the most challenging season for me. Cache on!

Hello. My name is Kristine and my husband and I have been geocaching only a few times over the course of two years. I am hoping to up that number this summer and get our family of four out and about hiking. The caches we have found so far have been fun for the kids and it is perfect to get out and exercise without calling it exercise. I am glad I found this group because it will encourage get out there!

Hello All. I'm Steve, from MO. I've been caching for about 2 years, but have been mostly out of the loop the last 8 months or so. I'm looking foward to getting back at it this spring and summer. So far 52 finds and have been scouting out a few places for placing one. Good luck to all and happy caching.

It only costs a nickel more to go first class.

Hello everyone!

I'm from Ottawa, Canada and quite new to geocaching...only 4 caches found so far :-) I recently "discovered" geocaching and thought this would be a great way to get outdoors, exercise and have a fun time doing it. Needless to say I've now piqued my husband's interest and he's loving it too! We must have walked 15 km's over the weekend without even realizing it.

Hi hi-

i'm D.J. from near Tacoma, WA. The username on geocaching.com is 'NutHouze'. We have been geocaching for about a year and love it. Got into it because it was something that involved exercise that i could do with the children as well as by myself. It's also great to go out on trailcaches and take baby in stroller - for that extra resistance.

TTFN...

Remember... it's not about the end result, it's all about the journey!

Welcome Derrick! That's awesome that you use geocaching to get your son out. My son is only 2 and loves doing anything right now. We do laugh because he now recognizes ammo boxes when we find those out in the woods and wants the box opened right away so he can find some treasure to take with him. His matchbox car collection has really grown thanks to many of the caches we've come across. I love that geocaching is fun, educational, FREE (well, once you get the initial equipment) and a great way to get out and do something while getting in some exercise.

Hi! I live in SE PA and my husband and I started geocaching this past fall and love it. We already love the outdoors and hiking and this is a great way to get us out there doing this stuff. We've visited a lot of places we probably never would have known about. And what a fun way to get in some exercise. And as our son gets older, we hope to use this as an educational experience for him too.

Hello all. My family and I just started geocaching a few weeks ago. We're in western Washington state and have discovered a huge wealth of nearby caches. I can't wait to dig deeper, searching for them. We were already avid day hikers, so this just adds another dimension to our hobby. My 9yo son practically skips through whole hikes when he knows there's a cache ahead!

Jenn

My goal is to get back to 168 (within my healthy weight range) after a stressful relocation.

My husband and I started geocaching in Dec 08- our goal was 300 for the year- we made it but haven't done much since. I have been on SP for about 6 weeks. I have lost 17 pounds since Christmas- my uh-oh day. I look forward to geocaching during spring break and giving my husband a run for his money.

Hello! I've been a member of Spark for awhile. Have been interested in geocaching. Our mailman for work is a big geocacher and we have conversed about it quite abit. This weekend my husband are going away for much needed time away. The mailman loaded up his "old" GPS with geocaches for us in the area we are going. So later this afternoon we are headed out for our 1st Cache! I'm sooo excited!

Howdy! I have been geocaching for a few years and finally made my 100th find! My family thinks I am a bit nuts for wanting to go find hidden "treasures" but when I have dragged them along they usually get into the action and enjoy our jaunts. My handle on geocaching.com is teacheach.
