depends on how thin or thick you want them

I went to the ravelry search.. put in gloves, knit and free and this link comes up

www.ravelry.com/patterns/search#avai
la
bility=free&query=gloves&vieR>w=captioned_thumbs&sort=best&
;c
raft=knitting

go there and on the filter put who the gloves are for.. then you can narrow down the yarn weight and see the patterns for them

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much A true friend reaches for your hand but touches your hea

Question: What would be the best yarn to make gloves?

It comes down to one simple thing........How bad do you want it?

Welcome from Michigan. I tried knitting when I was in my teens but never was very good. It wasn't until about 10 years that I really got better. For the last couple of months I put my knitting aside to crochet granny square afghans for a friend's four granddaughters. I am putting together the last of the four. Knitting is my biggest stress reliever.

bend my ear any time. there are two other knitting groups which are more active than this one. I post free patterns on them as well as run several knitting challenges and knit a longs on them

one team is ravelry which does the knit and crochet, and then knitters.

my hands also have to have something in tem or I eat which is not a good ting

I've had loads of questions in the past year, but luckily I've got a friend down at work that knits, and she's been a big help. Thanks for the offer, I may be bending your ear once in a while. I had to give up crocheting when I injured my left hand 2 years ago. Being a South paw, that presented a problem. :) I couldn't stand the thought of not using my hands, hence the knitting idea. I too, cannot watch TV without doing something with my hands.

I am a 100 percent only knitter. my brain and hands just can not get the hang of using only one hand I have been knitting now for 57 years

knit and purl together give the best stitches.. just how you put them together to form something wonderful

I presently am working on 4 shawls and a blanket.

if you have any questions please ask

pam

HI, my name's Colly. I've been a crocheter for over forty years. I've tried knitting, but could never get the hang of it. Then about a year ago I decided that enough was enough , I needed to learn to knit. So I got my tablet out and googled knitting classes for my area. I found only one , a little yarn shop about a mile from the house, (Gosh Yarn It). I thought that I would sign up for 3 classes but the lady informed me that with my crocheting experience, I should only need 1 lesson. One hour later I was able to knit, purl, cast on, and bind off. All these years of trying to learn, not one person mentioned that knitting consists of only 2 stitches. It's what you do with those stitches that produce such beautiful results. Crocheting, on the other hand, is a constant learning experience, with all those numerous stitches.

Making this long story a little shorter, I'm doing great. Haven't let a day go by without knitting something. Right now I'm working on a baby blanket for a shower in 2 weeks. But, like most knitters, I've got more than one project going. Also working on my first temperature blanket and a weather Caftan. Having the time of my life.

Aiming for 160 pounds, I'm working on my first 50 pounds of the 140 I need to reach that goal. I joined SP a week ago, so I've only lost 2 pounds so far, but it's a start.
