Hi. I am Lisa. I just wanted to join a Team I will not feel pressure from. There is a lot going on in my life right now and I don't need to be pushed into complicated timed challenges. I would like to go at my own pace. Hopefully this team will allow me to do that.

I am Jae. Married to my husband of 46 years. I have two grown children with families of their own. I have five grandchildren and one great great daughter...I also have two fur kitties who bring me joy.
I have Fibromyalgia, OsteoArthritis. and long standing depression. My husband has Dementia which has recently progressed to mid stages.Needless to say for me some days are more challenging than I can bear. It is not easy to be a caregiver and especially if the caregiver needs care. But with the Lords help I manage to get through everyday with gratitude knowing things can always be worse.
I started SparkPeople weighing 214. I now weigh 162. I would like to lose another thirty pounds. I am an emotional eater and I will always have to keep my emotions in check and learn not to lean on food for stress...
I have learned to take one day at a time. not to regret yesterday or worry about tomorrow. For as we know tomorrow is not promised to any of us.
When I am not busy taking care of my husband or the everyday decisions come up. I enjoy coloring, writing, music, and my computer...I was born with Spina Bifida ...which was difficult for my childhood but many life lessons learned along the way...This is my path that has been given to me..nothing left to do but learn to walk in joy with it.


The pain passes ~ only the beauty remains...

Hi I am at the really painful knee stage one replaced the other trying to join -much of what I enjoy is out there walking ...it for me gets rid of the kinks from life putting all in it's place.
So lose weight get more supple and build core strength that's my goals . Small steps on my path, first week, started Mediterranean diet sun salutation each morning and mindful eating. Keep walking and being amazed at nature family around.
Also work on inner self ....the hardest part ...
I'm blessed to be retired and have time and new self esteem ..hard battled for.....to be able to start on this journey looking forward to being a member of this team

Hi there! I am not new to the Spark but am rejoining after about a 6 month hiatus. I have come quite a way in my weight loss journey but am restarting to continue the loss. Mindful eating is by far one of my toughest hurdles. I really look forward to getting to know people on this team and learning new methods of mindful eating!

Hey Everyone...once again I am returning to SP. I have joined again in hopes that I find within myself and through others the support I need to conquer my issues. I am a food addict that is out of control at the moment. I don't have a trigger food, food is my trigger. I am an emotional eater, a boredom eater, oh and I am awake eater. I am 10 months post op from having vertical sleeve weight lose surgery. I have reached the surgeons goal but I would like to loss another 25 pounds. I have been on a stall for 10 weeks now and it is getting the best of me. I would love to have a solid 5 pound weight lose by the end of March. I would love to be back on track and I would love to be able to block the stinkin' thinkin' I have been showering myself with the past few weeks. I would love to have my back pain free and I would love to be loving life. Here's to goals, to challenges and future victories.

Hi, I am 32 and live in Southwest Georgia USA.
And I would like to start getting healthy all the way around.
(Mind body soul and spirit). I weighed in at 200 pounds today.
Which is the largest I have ever been. It bothered me to say the least.
I got diabetes and cancer on both sides of family.
(Not to mention I am getting married and don't want to pass bad habits to Chris).
He is a good man and I am blessed to have him in my life...
Want to be healthy for the both of us so I signed up for this challenge.

Hello,
My name is Sarah and I have actually joined sparkpeople last year. Unfortunately my weight loss has been inconsistent and I realized that my biggest issues are emotional eating and inconsistency. Hi everyone: I have a lot of difficulty paying attention to my body signals while I'm at work. The job stress blots out everything else and I end up not eating during the day, working too many hours and hitting fast food drive-through so on the long commute home.

The most important skill I can develop is to maintain awareness and to feed myself when I'm hungry- I get so overly hungry that when I do eat it's too much and bad choices.

I'm so far off the rails that I have started a medically supervised weight loss program and am using meal replacements. This is a small step in the right direction because I have been able to eat every 3 hours even at work since I can carry the shakes/bars with me all day, and I have been remembering to eat (with the help of an alarm).

But this can only be a temporary tactic. I must be able to plan ahead, have healthy food available, and stop to eat when hungry no matter what is going on. I'm looking forward to connecting with others who are endeavoring to be mindful with food.

My first goal is to loose 10% of my starting weight. Baby steps.

Hey everyone. I have struggled with eating right most of my life. I can exercise all the time but my eating habits keep me from keeping the weight off. Sometimes I don't eat at all and then when I do eat I pig out or eat things that aren't good for my body. Hi there, my name is Angie, and I am hoping to find some inspiration here!! I am not new to sparkpeople, but have not been on here for a few years. My family took a little vacation this past week, and I looked at a photo of myself in a swimsuit, and burst into tears!! I vowed that I won't be like this next year. I am taking an online course on nutrition and there is an entire lesson on mindful eating. I am still searching for the reasons behind what I do, and trust me, there are many issues in regards to eating that I struggle with. Hi I'm Julie. I am here because being mindful in all areas of our lives is helpful to coping better with stress and dealing with emotional issues too. I need to join the mindful eating goals because they are key components to a healthy lifestyle. Hello, I found my way here after watching today's sparkcoach video. Earlier I'd read a blog by someone who was taking a picture of everything they ate, and thought I'd also try that. Mindless eating is a key (or has been) a key issue for me. When I'm mindful and focused, then I do lose weight, but have experienced problems in retaining that focus. Looking forward to participating in this challenge and finally getting a hold on this problem.

Kind of looks like this is not a very active team but I am so excited to track the goals of mindful eating. I know it helps me so much to pay attention to why I am eating and to bless what I am putting into my mouth. To be thankful for the food and to want to use it only for fuel not to pacify some other emotion.

The best cure for stressing is to count your blessings...and a long walk won't hurt either!

Never give up what you want the MOST for what you want at the MOMENT!

I am not that new but still new. I started my account few weeks back but didn't do anything with it. Or at least not what I wanted. I took a class about mindful eating and how to think about food 4 years ago. I learned a lot but didn't do anything with it. Hello! I really need to get my eating under control. I tend to eat the way I did when I was a child and my body can't handle it any more. As a child I was very skinny. The most I weighed until I was 25 was 105 lbs. I had given birth to my 4th child before I was able to get over 105 lbs when I was not pregnant. I did not become overweight until I was 28 yrs old. I became obese while I was in college (I was 32.) I had a heart attack at 52 yrs old. You would think I would have worked hard to lose the weight ( I was over 200 lbs) but I only lost about 15 lbs and then quit exercising and went back to eating a lot more junk. I need to really become mindful about my choices and pick healthier foods as well as watch portions. I believe this team can help me get my eating under control. I already have a good exercise plan but now it is time to get a food plan working.

I've been trying to learn to let food be fuel,instead & thought mindful eating is exactly something I need ,because I've frequently shoveled bags of chips, candy / food in my mouth while watching TV & thought did I just eat all that ?!

I am trying to bring mindfulness into every aspect of my daily life and thought this team will help me reach my goal (concerning mindful eating). I'm looking forward to the 4 week challenge as a way to gain focus!

Hi, I just found this team and find it to be just what I need. When I eat, I'm either in front of the computer, tv, etc; don't realize how fast I am eating. I need to focus and learn how to eat mindfully/eat slower. My first goal this week is to only eat at the dining table; only have my morning coffee at the computer....I CAN DO THIS!!!

I just read an article in my daily newspaper about mindful eating. It made so much sense and that is how I ended up on this Spark Team. I'm ready to give it a try.
