I am not sure if I'll ever make Kombucha but I might do the pickles or sauerkraut again.

I have to be diligent about caring for myself. 100 DAYS OF WEIGHT LOSS is a great way for me to keep focused. Day 1 is July 1, 2017. Build habits to produce success. Most of these habits I have at least tried before but did not sustain. First habit: delay eating by using a timer.

Yes, I was brought up with fresh vegetables in every meal apart from breakfast, and with parents who love to garden, but it's only now that I truly appreciate it.I have no garden and all of my windowsills are taken up with houseplants, but I can at least make my ferments in the space I have!
Welcome, Chris, it's lovely to have you here.

Hi all!

I guess we went through a 'do it yourself' phase when we were first married: vegetable garden, including an asparagus patch, and doing pickles in a big crock, and having a bee hive. All that went along with hiking and camping in our spare time. But now we are old foggies. People brag about organic gardening and recycling, but that is how I grew up. Even in high school I grew a bunch of roses and other flowers. I still read lots about gardening but have only a small flower garden at our condo.

I am trying to keep the pain of fibromyalgia away with water aerobics. And I am caregiver to my husband who had a stroke at age 59, six years ago. He misses hunting and fishing and his woodworking.

I just recently stopped teaching -I had high school Deaf students for science.

I guess I like reading about lots of different things, especially trends in nutrition. I love the people I have met on sparkpeople. You can find everything here, even kumbucha!

Nice to meet you! Chris
