Hi, I'm Andi and can totally relate to the sparking on and off for (several) years - and gaining back MORE each time.

Santa brought me a FitBit for Christmas, and although I've been outta town (and mostly offline) for the past week or so, I wore it every day/night (except showers - I don't trust it to not get fried!). When I got back yesterday, everything synched up - and in fact, I had LOST 7.5 lbs since Christmas.

I was happy to see that SparkPeople and FitBit worked together, because I have always loved SP, and was not at all excited about rebuilding my food log!!

I started exercising regularly 4 months ago; drink lots of water and I even quit smoking (after an on again/off again battle of 4 years) - all last year. The final piece is getting my diet on track. The (family) goal is 70/30 "clean" - meaning all natural, nothing processed - 70% of the time. And for me at least, no more eating out for lunch at work.

Tomorrow, I shop!!! emoticon

Hi, my name is Sarah and I have been a SparkPeople member a couple of times now. I am 52 years old and started exercising in earnest back in 2013. I have lost and kept off 50 lbs and plan to lose 28 more. I work full time as a nurse. I look forward to sharing victories and challenges with this group.

I got a Fitbit for Christmas from my supportive husband!

Hi! I'm a working mother of 3 small children. I've been on and off Spark People for a few years (between pregnancies) and always seem to gain it back. Like so many other people, I have determined that this is the year. My best friend from childhood is getting married at the end of this year, so I want to get down to my goal weight by then. I had a fitbit one but lost it so got a new flex. I'm determined to up my step count to 10,000 - 12,000 steps per day. I am motivated now, but I know life will quickly get hectic and in the way. How does everyone else make it work when life gets busy?

Hello - I have been a SparkPeople member since 2009 but you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at me. In fact, I have gained 25 pounds since joining. Whose fault is that....MINE!

But all that is about to change...starting now! 2015 is the year to get FIT...

ONE POUND AT A TIME!!!

I have a new Fitbit (Flex) I am going to use ... along with Spark people to achieve my goal...

I'm a new Fitbit user and looking for some support with a Sparkteam. I've been sparking off and on for about 4 years. I gained every lost pound back and more, felt ashamed and let the membership slide. I have recently come back and am determined that 2015 is the year I become fit and consistent.
I set a goal of 6000 steps a day and haven't met that goal yet emoticon . Before I cave and change my goal I'm going to try to shed the self loathing attitude and give it my best shot.

Hello everyone!! Started Spark 3 years ago did great - got away from the program when we moved (spouse is in the Army and we moved 2x in the last 18 mo) Trying hard to get back to a healthy life style and I got a Flex to help me be accountable. I am not tech savvy so I will ask lots of questions, please be patient with me :-) I look forward to a new year with great success and new friends

Hi, I'm Kristen W. I also got a Fitbit for Christmas and am loving it so far. My goal is to get to the "normal" weight range for my height. In addition to exercise, I'm doing a low carb lifestyle. I've lost 13 pounds since December 1st and have another 38 pounds to go! Looking for Fitbit and Spark People friends for support and motivation!

Hi, I'm Amanda. I got a Fitbit for Christmas and excited to get started. I've been wearing it, but since my schedule is so out of whack during the holidays, I an to officially start on Monday 1/5/14. First goal is 15 lbs (to get me in the normal weight range for my size), and then another 10-15 to get me to my personal goal. Here's to 2015!

Hi everyone, I'm Robin and I am back to fitbit after going a month without one. It was a tough month! I had a fitbit ultra for two years but it finally fell apart right after Thanksgiving. DH got me a One for Xmas and I'm so excited to be back to tracking steps! Looking forward to meeting others and participating in some fitbit challenges. Off to explore the message boards. Have a good day everyone.

Hello all, I'm Holly. My BF got be the fitbit flex for Christmas (It was something I have been thinking about for around 2 years already...so it was my idea...not his haha). Evening and Happy New Year to everyone! Got my fitbit flex as a 40th bday present in July and am loving it. Gave them to my 11 and 13 yo sons for Christmas so the competition is ON! Just figuring out how to link fitbit and SP together because I like the food/goal tracking on SP better, not to mention the INCREDIBLE community!!

Hi everyone my name is Heather and I am from Iowa! I have had my fitbit for over a year now and love it. I was doing weight watchers for a little bit, but it is expensive and I never really clicked with the people at the meetings. I was on spark people a few years ago and did really well with it and a lost a lot of weight with it so I am back to give it another shot. I look forward to meeting all of you!

Hello! I got my fitbit for Christmas. :-) I'm 28, recently married, and trying to lose some weight to decrease any fertility issues and improve my PCOS symptoms. My name is Melissa, and my husband bought me my fitbit. He is one of those people with good metabolism, but he is willing to walk with me- so I think we might start walking first.

I honestly don't remember if I introduced myself when I first joined this forum. I bought my Fitbit several months ago after losing my Spark Tracker. I love the Fitbit as it syncs to my iPhone allowing me to sync it wherever I am. Today I start a new venture as I'm joining a walking/running group! I believe it's a great way to usher out the old year and welcome in the new! Happy New Year everyone and I look forward to participating more in this forum in 2015.

My name is Heidi. Hello everyone. My Santa brought me a FitBit Charge for Christmas. I used the Spark Activity tracker for more than a year. Can someone please explain the HUGE difference in my daily steps from the SPAT to the FitBit? With the SPAT I would typically get 7,000 steps on days that I went to the gym and ran for 30 minutes. (this includes my daily activity) Now with the FitBit I am logging WAY more than 10,000 steps doing the same things. For example, yesterday, I logged nearly 18,000. (I did shovel snow twice yesterday.) HELP?????

Hi guys! Got a FitBit Charge for Christmas and now I am starting to track with Spark People. I just got started with it tonight, so no a lot of info on me.

I have chronic pain and fatigue. The goal of the Fitbit is to track my sleep so I can see exactly how much I sleep and how well. I have a goal right now of 2000 steps per day which is not a lot to most people, but it is a starting place for me.

Hi, my name is Lecia, I'm 62 and have been a SP member off and on for many years. I was thrilled to learn that I could sync my new Fitbit with my SparkPeople account!

I just got a Fitbit Flex for Christmas from my son and daughter-in-law. It must have been an expensive gift for them, so I want to make the most of it!! I'm having fun learning how to use it! I hope it will motivate me to be more aware of my activities during the day.

I also go to Jazzercise regularly and I'm curious to see how Fitbit will log that exercise.

Hey y'all! My name is Connie and Santa came early to our house tonight!! I just opened my fitbit and can't wait to get it charged up and start using it tomorrow. I also have a garmin and I like it. I don't understand the website though and I have no friends with a garmin who can help me navigate it. I wanted a fitbit because I got my parents one for Christmas too and I figure we would be able to help each other with it. And an added bonus, my daughter bought one for herself too! I was using the Spark Tracker and I liked it pretty well but wanted to try the fitbit.

Merry Christmas!!! :)

Hi Everyone! My name is Sarah. I've had my fitbit for about a year, but wasn't using for the last few months. Dusted it off the other day, hoping to get moving again. I did alot of running this fall, but need to add more general movement to my days! Esp on my non-run days.

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!

Hello! I just purchased my FitBit Flex today! I have been wanting one but never seemed to have the extra money. I won $100 this week at the casino so I took my winnings and rewarded myself as I also was in a Challenge that ended today. I rewarded myself for reaching my goal of 20 lbs over ten weeks with a 21.8 total loss for the Challenge!

Now I hope the FitBit encourages me to set new goals!

Hi I am Serena. I have had my fitbit since March and I am completely addicted. I lost the first one a month after getting it and had to replace it that day. The new one stopped synching about 3 weeks ago but I was able to log my steps manually on SP although they did not show up on my fitbit tracker. Went through CS to try and fix the problem with no luck. Fortunately for me, the navy exchange swapped it out for me so I am up and running again. The weather and daylight loss has put a glitch in my normal routine. I was hiking every morning before work with a 3 mile run to the trail head round trip. Now I try to get hikes in on my days off. This past week has been wind storms and with trees on my house and 35 big ones down on the front trail system where I hike, I have been home bound. I have been on SP since 2008 after getting a job close to home and lost 50 lbs in the first 6 months. I gained 20 back when I started commuting again and lost it with the fitbit and coming back to work close to home again. I intend to lose another 10 lbs with the help of the fitbit support groups and my new nutrition program.

I am Serena. I live part time on a ranch on the Columbia River in NE Washington state and part time at a lodge on the western side of the state. I was ready to retire this year and decided to transfer and stick around for another couple years.
