Hi I'm Adrienne. I just had to change my email address with fitbit and I want sparkpeople to sync to the address. Can I do that without losing all my history of steps?

Hi, Iím Annie and Iíve been on SP forever, but got active and dedicated to my lifestyle change in April 2018. Started out with the Surge and got the Versa in September. Love how it syncs with SP and does all the work for me emoticon

Hi Everyone! My name is Jaime. I just picked up a Fitbit charge hr cheap off of eBay and I am impressed so far. My current goal is to walk 2 or more miles a day. Will see how many steps that is.

Iím coupling the walking with a low carb high good fat moderate protein diet and 18:6 intermittent fasting.

I have a March goal of 3.4 miles per day or rather three 1.1 mile walks per day. Thatís 100 miles per month. Other than that Iíve been sedentary, so itís time to get moving!

Hi, I restarted my journey to lose weight in October. I'm doing low carb 50 grams or less. My husband got me a FitBit Versa for Christmas to help me keep track of my activity. So far I'm down 22 pounds with 50-70 pounds to go.

Hi, I'm rejoining Spark people after being gone for a while and I'm ready to try again to lose weight and get more active. I want to have a more healthy lifestyle so that I can participate in activities with my grandchildren. I have a FitBit Zip and I like it a lot--it seems to be more accurate than some other digital pedometers that I've tried.

Hey all. I've been on SP for a while, but have not been active the last few year. First time lost a lot before. Did all the work and life happened and I gained it back. I entered a newlocal Biggest Loser contest (I like a completion) this week like I did a few years ago and why I joined SP to begin with. So I'm picking up SP again to help. I've used fitbit for about year and love it better then the other things i've used. So here I go again.

Hello, I'm Larry and have been a SP member since Dec of 09. My wife and I have been married for 49 years. We have three grown children and two grandchildren, Willow (9) and Aaron (7) soon to be eight. We live in a small town in central Ill. I'm a retired School Superintendent.

I've used a Charger 2 for a year or more, prior to that I used a Fitbit. My charger still records data but has stopped syncing to SP. I will have to investigate why.

I've been a diabetic for the past 20+ years. I think for most of the 20+ years, I've been in denial mode because my blood sugars and AIC were out of control. Since late October, I finally woke up and now have manageable blood sugars and a respectful AIC of 6.4 At my appointment in late October, I finally listened to my dietitian and I'm watching carb intake and keeping daily carb intake to 165 for less.

I recently joined a Biggest Loser Challenge and I'm committed to regular exercise regiment and a food program. I look forward to being part of Fitbit Users Unite.

Hello Iím Barbie I am 52 years old have been on Sparkpeople for a while now , had the Fitbit Zip . But yesterday received my new Fitbit Charge 3 , hoping it will motivate me more to help keep me more active to lose the weight once and for all this year ! My weight tends to fluctuate up and down quite a bit , so hoping the charge 3 will keep me moving enough that will stop happening along with eating sensibly and drinking enough water throughout the day . I due tend to stress and worry over stuff a lot so I am sure that does not help with my weight loss . So I need to work on being less stressed as well if that is even possible. Anyway there you have it , Have A Great Day Everyone !

Psalm 51 King James Version (KJV)

Hi, I'm Liz. I've been with SparkPeople for a while. I bought a Fit bit Alta HR several months back. I wondered if there was a way to connect it to SparkPeople. My team lead on my other group showed me this group. I went to my Start page and found I could sync it so here I am. I am 61. My cardiologist wants me to exercise more, eat Vegan and lose weight. At one point I was 231. It has taken a long time to lose what I have. I have a lot of stress in my life and tend to turn to comfort foods. I'm trying to change that. In May of 2014 I was obese but my blood pressure, A1C were normal. Then my husband had a heart attack. In 3 months time my blood pressure soared to 180/110 and my A1C went from 5.6 to 7.0. He ended up with appointments, testing and 4 bypass surgery. Then they found a tumor in his abdomen. More tests. They also found something in his lung. So in 2015 he had the tumor removed a colonoscopy that showed a polyp and was put on a chemo drug for 2 years. They weren't malignant but weren't benign either. Then the lung surgery also in 2015. It didn't work well so he is on oxygen. He still works. Last year he broke his neck and knocked his head out of place. He is alive and back to looking for a job. He got laid off in November, he had broken his neck in August and had surgery in September. He took 2 weeks off of work and then worked from home. The lay off was already planned. The company had been bought out and they only wanted the customers. He is an IT guy. He has a plate, 2 rods and six screws to put everything back in place. I took him to all kinds of appointments over the last 4 years and physical therapy. I'm on diabetic medication, a beta blocker, a blood pressure pill and a water pill. I also have GI issues so take pills for that. I'm now on oxygen myself. We live in a high altitude. I know when I lose this weight things will get better and I am looking for a job myself. Hopefully nothing else happens to him because I had to quit my last job to take care of him. I have an interview today and a phone interview tomorrow. Wish me luck. Glad to find this on spark. Liz in Colorado

Hi! I'm new to Sparkpeople. I have been using a fitbit for a little over a year. I started with an Alta but lost it when the band broke. So, I was not tracking anything for almost four months!! I completely got off track of healthy eating and exercise and gained all the weight I had lost plus an extra 10 pounds! But for Christmas I received a new Fit Bit-its a charge 2-and I'm ready to start again! I am hoping that by combining the Fit Bit and Sparkpeople I will get the extra support and motivation I need!

Hello,
Kathryn here, I have been on SP for awhile off and on. In 2016, my friend gave me her "old" Fitbit one, I was excited to get it going. I bought one for my sister but she wasn't that interested so I held onto it. Wouldn't you know I lost mine bike riding this past September (it wasn't syncing well with anything anyway, but I would still look at my #'s). I cracked open the "extra" and started using it. Then at the work Christmas party I won a Fitbit Alta - can't wait to give it a try. I think you can have 2 on the same account. I like the one as I clip it on my bra - not sure I can get used to the wrist but nice windfall to try it out. Hello everyone! Any tips welcomed!

Hello! My name is Monica and I am a long time lover of all my fitbits. I currently have a Versa and I love it. I have previous tried Sparkpeople and fell off the "bandwagon" and am back to get back on track. I am a wife and mom of three and have gone back school full time in 2018 so my health and fitness has fallen down on the priority list but all that will change in 2019.

Hi there

I'm Sue and just purchased my first Fitbit today, replacing my 11 year old Polar HRM which still works - at least 99.9% of the time. I got a Charge 3 and have just finished setting it up so I'll see how I like it. Looking forward to seeing it it helps me move a bit more and sparks my motivation to work out as some pounds once lost have crept back on in the past year and I need to lose them before my clothes become too snug to wear.
I've been a Spark member for over 8 years but only consistently active for about three, losing just over 60 pounds between January 2016 and the mid 2017.
I guess I'll know where to come if I need any advice on using my fitbit!

Hello my name is Anna. I have been with SparkPeople for about 10 years or more. I have had a lot of ups and downs in my life, but who hasn't. So my motivation has been nil to none.

I got my new Fitbit versa last week but I really didn't want to use it until I put a screen protector on the face of it and a rubber wish silicone rounding around the face of it also and I also wanted to change my band so I did that and now I have everything hooked up to SparkPeople. I also have my son's girlfriend who works for Planet Fitness and she is kind of motivated me to step up my game. So my first goals are to reach over 10,000 steps per day. Day one went well got more than 10,000 steps I'm already good into my day for today for reaching my goal so hopefully this is the push I needed.

I am not new to Spark but haven't been active for quite some time. I am starting the Naturally Slim program through my work this week. So, I linked my Fitbit to my Spark so I could track my activity better. Naturally Slim links to my Spark App but not my Fitbit App?!
Hope to make some better changes in my life through this new program and revitalization of my Spark account

Hey! I am not new to Spark but have only had my Fitbit account for a few months, I started with a Flex, then a Flex 2, now I have a Charge 2. I got tired of looking at the Flex expecting to see the time. I am using more and more features of the Fitbit app and linked it to Spark as soon as I could. The Charge is helping me manage milestones each day and getting me motivated to move forward in my need for a healthy change. I also have PCOS and was trying to eat Ayurvedic, but I'm going to have to go back on meds and go Keto Ayurvedic to make the changes permanent.

Finally got my Fitbit. Woohoo! I'm setting it up now.

It's all set up and I synced it with Sparkpeople, now the fun begins. I have been a part of Sparkpeople since 2007. I love it. Looking forward to the step challenges and how this tool will help me achieve my current weight loss goal and then help me maintain. That's my biggest challenge. I have been at my goal weight several times over the past years and then I gain 20-30 pounds or so. Stress....
I'm growing wiser as I age and I pray that helps me keep my stress to a minimum.

I'm starting SP again. I just completed my treatment for breast cancer and got an Alta to help change my lifestyle so prevent having to go through that again. emoticon

This is the beginning of everything you want.

Hello, I’m new to this forum but I’ve had fitbits for a little while now and really like the tracking abilities of the gps signal so much better than the phone apps I’ve tried.

I am back to SP. Starting to recommit to myself. Charging my FitBit Alta as we speak to start using that as motivation. emoticon

Hello:
I just upgraded to the Fitbit Versa today. I had the Alta with no HR,
I've got it synced up and now I have to see if I will like it. I'll give my Alta to my adult son.

I upgraded because I wanted a large screen where I could see the time properly and I wanted my heart rate tracked.
I don't work and live a fairly sedentary life. I aim for 6000 steps a day as a minimum but try for 10K when possible. To get the 6000 steps I have a walk at a nearby manmade lake where once around is 1.104 miles. Twice around gets me my 6000 steps. I try to walk everyday.

I also attend beginner swimming lessons followed by water aerobics for 2 hours of activity twice a week. The Versa is waterproof so I look forward to having it on in the pool,

I will lose 95 pounds in 2019 (goal of 160 lbs).
Restart Sept 1, 2018, 300 lbs, New Goal Weight 160 lbs
I want to reach 200 lbs by Sept 1, 2019

Original Starting weight 283 lbs, July 9, 2013
Goal Weight of 160 lbs Reached Nov. 26, 2014!
Lowest weight was 154 lbs on 22 May 2015

Hi,
I just bought my first Fitbit Charge 2. I have several Garmins, used for outdoor activities, but needed something to give me a nudge to just move more.
I have been on SP a few times in the last five years, and regain as easily as I lose!

I've been on Sparkpeople for about 10 years and love it. A little over a year ago I found the 5% Challenges and have been loving the accountability and motivation they provide.
I don't have my fit bit yet, but it will be here on the 7th. So looking forward to getting it. I'm getting the Fitbit Charge 3 special edition, the lavender one. It looks pretty. Can't wait to sync it up with Sparkpeople. emoticon

Hey there fellow Sparkers,

I've been here on SP on and off (yes with more than one account) over the last 18 years, and have been an avid FitBit fan for the last three. I wear a Charge2 and love it. My FitBit has really kept me informed about everything from my daily steps, to resting heart rate, to sleep quality, and all of these segments have been helping me achieve a healthier lifestyle.

Here for motivation and perhaps even to motivate others.

Howdy folks - brand new fitbit user here! My mother was so happy I've been working out with a trainer and getting healthy, she surprised me with a FitBit Charge 2. I've been on and off SparkPeople for years.

I learned something today - Apparently I move around way more than I thought I did. I have a "sedentary" desk job, but I'm already at 4830 steps for the day. I set it up to have a goal of 8000, but I think I'm going to have to increase it to challenge myself. ^_^

Hey there, everyone!

I'm very new to SparkPeople (1 week) and just received my Fit Bit Alta today. Took all day to set that puppy up to my laptop without a dondle. Windows 10 didn't want bluetooth to work. Any who, I was determined, and when I'm determined I'm a bull head. I'm still not very familiar with this site and I get lost, a lot.

I let myself go...looking back now I don't know why. Doesn't matter at this point, that is my past and my future is ahead of me. I didn't come here to make excuses, I came here to own up and be accountable.

I LOVE how we track our meals, exercise, so many topics to read and so many recipes. It's amazing and I'm so happy I stumbled across it last Wednesday. I sure didn't know I was going to join or even what it was about except food tracking, that's what I was looking for. Found it and more.

I'm so happy to have been invited here. I wouldn't have known there was a fit bit group. Hopefully I can learn how to do things with this Fit Bit and SparkPeople site and be encouraged, and be an encouragement.
