Hello there! This is my first time being a part of a team. I am 53 and have been a Spark for about 3 years. I have not been diligent and hope this will help me stay on track. Frankly, I feel overwhelmed and hope this will get me over the plateaus and on across the mountain. I am happily married and my spouse is my biggest supporter. I have 100+ pounds to lose but believe I am up to the challenge.

Hey all!! my name is Mary. I am from Dexter, NM. I am married & we have 1 son who is 10. I joined Sparkpeople Jan 2009 (i think lol!!) & did very well in the beginning of last year then kinda went down hill at the end. but that is ok. I lost a total of 40lbs in 2009 & managed to keep 30lbs off even after slacking!! so i think that is pretty awesome. i plan to do better this year. my plan is revamped w/ my interventions & goals.......w/o goals we have no where to go!! we can do this!! hang in there everyone!!

Hi Everyone! Gearing up for the new year. Rededicating myself to a healthy lifestyle. A few years ago I had a lot of success with the South Beach Diet. I kept off the weight for over 2 years but a stressful job with no free time to take better care of myself got in the way and I strayed and ultimately the weight came back...and all in one place instead of the even distribution I had prior to my original weight loss. This year I begin again with healthy habits, all things in moderation, and no specific formula dieting. I will exercise more and eat more super foods and less of the foods that hurt my cause. I've been prepping myself to begin right after New Year's day. Taking forst steps today with a brisk walk out in the snow. Happy New Year and New You Everyone!

Hi Everyone. I'm 57 years old and my goal is a weigh loss of around 70 pounds, but,more importantly, fitness. I've been working with a trainer for the last 6 months and lost 30 pounds. But, that's pretty expensive and I feel I have a good enough foundaton now to go it alone. Well, semi-alone because I'll be doing the boot-camp with all of you, as well as some group exercises in my gym.

Looking forward to "sparking" off 2K10 with a renewed committment to myself and my health. A former athlete, I have a long way to go but Sparkpeople looks to be a great site with every resource I could possibly need. At 47, I need to lose 100 lbs but this will be the year that I do it! Thanks.

I'm 58, just joined on the suggestion of my older sister, and am excited about gaining even more health this year through SparkPeople. I've been (slowly and haltingly!) making real progress in fitness over the last several years-- I've actually completed 6 walking half-marathons now (and I was NEVER at all athletic as a young person...). Looking forward to all the motivation to keep at it, and reach new fitness levels, using a wider range of fitness activities and keeping a consistent focus. Have lost about 14 pounds in the last year-- just about at my goal and feeling great in my 'no longer shrunk' clothes :-). Very nice to be a *healthy* grandma!!!

Hi! I'm 19, working hard to quit bulimia and to be and stay healthy. I've gained weight since last year (approx. 5 pounds) and would like to lose it, but my priority is to be healthy. I have a boyfriend who is often busy but he would like to exercise with me sometimes. If I need a plan, it has to be flexible, and I will include power yoga in it, because it's going to be one of my classes at school. I like to dance, too. And I love all kinds of arts. It's my passion. Yesterday, I decided the first rule of my plan would be: take one spoonful, or take a bowl, or a plate. I'm also looking for other tricks that might help me achieving my food and fitness goals. I just downloaded some applications for my Ipod Touch. Hope it will be useful!

Hi everyone my name is Delka and I've been trying to lose these same 15 lbs for the longest and I finally came to the conclusion that I don't need to lose any weight. I need to tone my body up. Until a year ago I used to workout 1 to 2 hours for 5 days a week. I had a GREAT figure even though I was 53. I worked out with weight, was jogging and did martial arts (pencak silat).
In the past few month I had no time to workout enough and it doesn't look that this is getting better in the future. I have lost weight, put on a little body fat, which means that I must have lost quite a bit of muscle mass.
I do not know how I will do it timewise, but I need to get in shape again.
I just saw that my weight is put on 53, though I have 49 to 50 kg (110 pds, with 5.4")

Hi all!
I joined SP last Winter and did really well until I got too busy this Fall and let things fall apart. I lost some ground, but am still ahead of where I started last February. I was/am nervous about joining this team, because when school(work) starts back up for me next week, I'm nervous about being able to stick to a daily commitment. However, after measuring myself yesterday I am more motivated than ever - I discovered that just 6 pounds translated into 2-3 inches of gain around my waist, hips and thighs!
Also, since getting busy when school started in September was part of my downfall, I need to learn some strategies to keep things going at times in the year when I get really busy.

I have lost 83 pounds and am stuck at losing about 2 pounds a month, I am getting married in June and want to weigh 125 pounds, so need to lose 4 pounds a month to reach that goal (however because of my dress I would like to reach that goal sooner) I am hoping to lose 5 pounds during the month of January with this Bootcamp Program.

Hey Adel - I'm finding the Wii super fun and for someone who wasn't exercising at all, it has gotten my up on my feet again. I started out for 30 minutes at a time and it said I burned around 100 calories or more....I was sweating though....lol. Yesterday was my first day that I played on it for a little over and hour and it said that I burned 300+ calories!! I really think it is helping me to just start moving and hopefully will lead to doing other things again.

Good morning Everyone - Yes, I finally bit the bullent and joined the Spark Your Body Bootcamp. I'm hoping this will help me with another challenge that I am starting in 2010......Biggest Loser Season 9!! I'm going to need all the exercise I can get my hands on. I started SP in September, but it has been slow going. I'm hoping by kicking up (okay starting to) exercise, I'll be well on my way to losing 50 pounds before my birthday in June. Looking forward to making some new friends and having some friends.

Hi!! My name is Jennifer and I am in AL. I am excited about this Bootcamp. This is the first time I have done this on SP. I am determined to loose 60 pounds this new year and NEVER start over again!!!

-Sticking to the Flat Belly Diet (1400 calorie diet)
-Doing the Biggest Loser Last Chance Workout DVD 5 days a week as directed
-Maintaining a CLEAN house (while I am not working)
-Finding a job
-Eating out only ONCE the entire month!
-Drinking 8+oz water at every meal

Happy new year everyone. I have been on and off sp and I intend to get more dedicated this coming year. It seems like every time I go to the doctor I end up with more diagnosis and more medications to take. I know if I lose weight that will help with my health problems. I am married, mother of 5, one grandson and one daughter in law. Looking forward to the challenge, already looked over the videos and tried some.
