Hi...I'm Tammy. I've been a member of SP for over a year but have really started to use it the past couple of weeks. I'm hooked! Today I received my Sparks book and was intrigued by the exercise streak. I am trying to work out 3x a week, but thought having a goal of 10 minutes a day would be an awesome motivator. I'm excited for this challenge!

HELLO!!!!! I love spark... I've started back aprox 3 weeks ago, but said to say I really was only tracking my food, My friend and I have joined the gym 1 1/2 wks ago and my energy is back along with my motivation, cardio and wgts are my friend again, and smart eating is better than those old bad carbs that made me soooo tired!

Hi, I'm Miranda. 4 years ago I was on SP and lost over 40 pounds...then I got pregnant and gained it all back plus more! YUCK!!! Now I'm wanting to lose it all again and keep it off. I'm going for broke this time and plan on making these changes stick not just for me but for my 4 wonderful children. My poor eating and exercise habits are starting to affect my children and that has to stop now!!! I'm open for any help, suggestions, and support. These next two weeks are going to be stressful because I can't start exercising because I have stress fractures in my foot BOO HOO....that's what being this overweight can do to you!!

Guess what today is? Yup, it's emoticon !! I am excited to be on this team as I think dedicating 10 minutes a day is an excellent start to reach my new goal and get in the habit of setting aside time for myself and my body.

I am here because I am 2 pounds away from being my heaviest weight ever and it's depressing. I've been trying over and over again to each week for I don't know how long to exercise at least 3 times a week and I just can't hack it, I don't know why. So, what I want to do in this team is get more exercise each week and stick to it!

I just joined this team today. I walked in my house for 10 minutes today. emoticon
I am 60 1/2 years old. My husband and I just celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary lat month and we have 10 grandchildren. I need to take weight off my knees because I have RA.
I am starting my weight loss program yet again. Why can I not stay with it to loose my 40 pounds to reach my goal I don't know. I hope this time I will. I know I can do it and this time I am going to do all I can.

Hi, I have about 45 lbs that need to go. I have a 1952 born challenge to lose 35 lbs by Dec. going if anyone is interested. I joined this challenge because 10 min is sometimes all my day will allow and I need a push to make me fit it in. I have found SP trackers to be very helpful for nutrition balance and exercise motivation but I needed something more.

Hello! I'm trying to do 30 minutes of exercise 6 days a week, but sometimes laziness gets the best of me :( .. so in order to keep myself from letting exercise fade from my routine if I happen to miss my scheduled 30 minutes I want to challenge myself to do at least 10 minutes of SOMETHING, even if it's at midnight.

I signed up with SparkPeople and love the fact that it is free! I also feel positive that I can do the 10 min. exercise for 5 days. Maybe even 7. I will begin by walking my dog! She needs the exercise too and loves walks! Send me positive vibes! I am also trying to 20 lbs off and have a beginning goal of 8. Gotta be healthy so I can continue to enjoy life!

Hi there! I joined this challenge b/c I easily fall into exercise ruts and figure that I can exercise for at least 10 minutes. I also figured that, if I am already exercising "for 10 minutes", then it would be easy to go for longer at times. I really want to give my metabolism a boost b/c just eating better is not enough to get me to where I want to be physically.

I'm Shirley from neat Indianapolis and I did not do 10 min. a day but did 4/30min. days so it has helped me to exercise. It is so hot , but we must stay with the program. Talk to you next week.

Hi to all. I've been w/SP since 2006. It's been a really long time since I've done any message postings and I know, from past experience, can be so helpful and I've made long-time friends. Live in Central Texas, married 24 years, 2 kids, my oldest son a US Marine stationed in HI and a daughter, a senior in high school. I'm not new to SP or to this team; but my busy life lends me not lot of time on the computer except on vacation. I'm really good getting to Curves 3x a week, I'm not so good at walking. And I even have a dog to walk! I live in a city that is known for crime, and I think that is why I am so inconsistent with my walking. I take Lucky out for short walks but I am never gone more than 20 minutes.

I think accepting this challenge will get myself motivated!

My name is also Laura (what are the odds?). I have a 4-month-old and a 5-year-old. When they are not keeping me busy, my work, my husband, or my dog is. Life is hectic. When I saw the 10 minute challenge, I knew that was for me. Sometimes the idea of doing 30 minutes of exercise is so overwhelming that I just don't do it all, but 10 minutes seems so doable. Hi, My name is Katherine and I live in North FL. I joined this challenge to help myself get motivated to start exercising. I started Sparkpeople in April and I've lost 21 pounds, all just by staying within my recommended calorie range. No exercise.

I'm happy with my progress but I know how important it is to also exercise regularly.

Finally got round to starting up and found this site.

Starting tracking my daily steps about a month ago - they are about 7500 on a normal day.
With only 2½-3½ hours awake time after work (have 4½ hours train/car commute each day), I wanted something that I couldn't talk myself out of - so no gym or classes. Instead started on InHome walking a few years ago, but then life came in the way, and I stopped. Now I have finally started again and will be walking for the 4th day in a row (1 mile - 17 minutes).
As I am on my summer holiday (at home) now, I hope to get in a good trend before getting back on the threadmill.

Hello, i am Cecelia, I've joined in hopes that this challenge will make me more motivated, so i can get the going to the gym or home workouts to be a routine, and not just a "when-i-remember" thing...

Hopefully this will work.. :-) I have high hopes!

I am 22yr's old, live in Puyallup Washington, and have been paying for (and occationally going to) the vision quest gym... i had a gym partner at one time, and would go all the time, but that person left me, so i started to go less and less, and now i "cant-seem-to-find-the-time" to go.... trying to get some of my other friends to go with me... and no ones wants to...

i am working to lose 40 lbs, 10lbs at a time, hopping to get it done in 5-6 months i think...

and thats me! :-P

Hi! My name is Christy, I've been married to my wonderful hubby for 12 1/2 years and have 3 amazing children ages 8, 9, & 11. I've gained ALOT of weight over the last year, I would say at least 60 pounds. I've been a part of the SP community for about 3 weeks now and so far I've lost 10 pounds. I lost 8 lbs the first week and 2.2 pounds the second week. I usually weigh on Friday's but I didn't weigh this past Friday and think I'll wait until next week is over to weigh again. emoticon I came to the SP community weighing 270 and now weigh 259. My goal is to loose 130 lbs, which will get me down to 140 lbs by June 27, 2012. I'm really glad to be here!

This is my second day with the team. I need a reason to focus on starting the exercises. We use to be in a rec center and we went 5 days. Without it we are just not doing the exercises. Last week my husband and I walked but this week it is too hot! This should help.

HI,
I'm Sue ... and I'm trying to make exercise a daily habit. I usually exercise 4 to 5 days a week for about 60 minutes at a time. I just need to stick something in those "rest" days. My official start date was 7/5/2011 because I saw the SparkGuy doing it. I want to exercise everyday for at least the next 3 months. Then I ran into the team and thought I might as well join as I haven't finished my 30 days streak yet. I think I can make it! Looking forward to it!

Hi I'm Diane and struggling with consistency in exercise. This seems the perfect challenge to reach that goal... I posted all my goals in the discussion thread. I love doing outdoor things like hiking and I really want to work on biking. I'd love to use my car less and bike around town, but I tire out soooo easily... The structured workouts like strength building are also my trouble areas. There is nothing like NOW to start having CONSISTENCY become the biggest word in my vocabulary! Good luck everyone!
