Wow, JUDSTERF! You have had your share of medical stressors, to say the least. One step at a time. All you can do is one step at a time. I hope you have someone nearby to share your worries with and who can help you plan how to manage things.

I will add you to my prayer list and hope you and your husband's health improve.

I've been with SparkPeople for a few years now. I never left the program but didn't work it for a while due to so many, many stressors the past couple of years.

My husband has had many, many medical issues the last 2-3 years; most recently multiple kidney stones involving many hospitalized procedures to alleviate the two very large ones, COPD/Asthma, and 4 different bouts of pneumonia in the past 4 months. Two years before this, he had total knee replacement and acquired 3 bouts of C-Diff which is lethal is not caught in time. He is also a heart patient with 2 heart attacks and a triple bypass with a bleeder the following day.

I have now acquired COPD/Emphysema with one bout of pneumonia. I was hospitalized one evening with pneumonia and influenza B, and my husband was hospitalized with pneumonia 12 hours later in the same hospital. They did arrange for the two of us to have rooms back to back which was nice. This hospitalization left our two toy poodles without anyone at home. Lucky for us we have great neighbors who took the dogs for their walks each day, saw that they had food, and another neighbor who let them outside about every two hours and would sit on the swing in our back yard with them for a while.

My husband has a few surgeries to come yet for kidney problems as soon as he can get his lungs to stay healthy enough to withstand the 2-3 hour kidney surgery to remove a stricture in the ureter due to the large kidney stones being wedged in the ureter.

I had thought I was handling the stressful situations quite well but evidently not. I was happy to see this team on here. I am on Week 1 and day 2.
