what I can do is pick up the amount of time and frequency that I walk, while the weather has been conducive to my health.

Last year I was walking 1/2 a block when I started the couch25K challenge. I took a big back slide this winter, but am starting to come back again. I think baby steps and pacing is the way to go. We have to keep trying.

Star Wars Dark Sidesounds like fun.

I signed up for the Color The Coast for Autism Walk. Which is the first one I ever did.

Still struggling to get back in shape. I wasn't able to do the Reindeer Run due to flu. I recently joined the gym and can get in a mile and a half now. One day I walked two miles but that was in two different sessions.

Linda, it is not the destination so much as the race. As long as each of us are making progress it is a win. I am still not back to 5K shape. I did get a mile in last week, but was fatigued after 25 minutes today. We will see how tomorrow goes. I still want to walk the Reindeer route. (I had the flu) And then will sign up for the autism walk In February (I think)

Committed to my second Therapeutic 5-K even though I said "No More" Feb 24th I will try to best my time on a treadmill and stationary bike - holding on to support bars and walking carefully with neuropathy - I can't feel my legs below the knee but they are still holding me up and I walk with only one cane in most safe areas. Daughter will be doing the real thing!

I hope Houston is dried out and recovering by then. They need all the support they can get.

I have made a decision to sign up for the local Monster Walk in October. I live in the original Halloweentown. It should be lots of fun. My goal now is not to be last. I am going to work on increasing my speed.

Virginia Beach should be a wonderful place to walk a 5K.

I walked my first one on the other side of the country on the beach to raise money for autism research. I have also done one with a church group around a park to raise money for pregnant teens and a virtual walk through the web which was a fundraiser for rare disorders. You walked your own route at your own time. I have signed up for another in July for abused children. I much prefer the smaller local walks where I don't have to fight traffic, but I must say the attitudes and energy are incredible at the walks wherever they are.

Yes, I finished the walk established my time to someday be beat if the Lord allows. But I am so thankful I set the goal, worked the efforts up and completed it!! 2 hours, 27 minutes including rest times every half mile to check heart and recovery rate of breathing and pulse and then back on the course - I walked between my daughter and a dear friend as she walked her first 5K that morning too. Thanks so much for your note!

This was confirmed last week I will do a "handicapped or therapeutic" Walking 5k with 2 canes on Saturday 18 June, 2016 ... There will only be a few of us starting at 6am and walking slowly and resting as needed - goal is to complete it in less than 2.5 hours then go to finish line of a regular 5K being run in the community that day and will "get our t-shirts"

My 11 year old son and I are signed up for a 5K next Saturday May 14th. It was my sons idea to do one and I'm really excited he wanted to. Since we have started preparing for it he has shown some reluctance to go ahead with it but I told him we are not backing out now. We will get through this one and then he can decide if he wants to do another one.

I haven't yet. I've been here for awhile & was planning to start the program this past Monday; however, I also started the Better Sleep Challenge. I walked 5K for the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure 2015 in my state. Took me an hour to do, but I did it. I was a little sore after, but not too bad. I've been walking at lunch time for about 20 minutes a day.

I did the Color Run on Saturday. It was so much fun! It took me 1:32:33 to complete it, 10,400 steps over 3.1 miles. Can't wait until next year!

I haven't yet because they haven't posted but I plan on participating in the one I walked in last year called Baby Steps that benefits an organization that helps grieving parents. I walked it last year with my son-in-laws mom but I would like to jog a mile or so this year. emoticon

Hi, I'm new to the team. I did sign up for a 5K for this coming June. It's a Color Run. We have a team from Spark Maine doing it. I'm excited about this!

Today I started a new Leslie Sansone walking DVD, and completed a mile. It felt great.

Twubbl, you can do this! I'm going to look into the virtual 5Ks, thanks for posting about them.

The only 5 K's I'm thinking about are virtual ones right now. I need to lose about 200 pounds at this point. I would like to walk a 5 K by my 50th birthday which is 5 weeks away. And then maybe a virtual 5 K at the end of each month until this time next year. When I want to be up to virtual 10 K's.

I've been walking the virtual races now for about two months..I want to walk my 1st real race in March.....I will prob. not try running again on the pavement much till I get below 200lbs..it's too much on my knees now that I had the motorcycle injury...I always feel anything very strenuous...don't want to slow my workouts down by pounding the pavement..but fast walking doesn't seem to bother them...last weekend I took a long walk down a park pathway...took about 3 hrs. down and back didn't even feel like a workout till the next day...both my legs were so sore..so I know I got a good workout...really unexpected....I need that every wkend but the weather won't be that nice every wkend....I try to speed up my pace walking...but nothing helps...

Not yet, but I do have one picked out. Waiting on payday. Planning to walk the Lucky Leprechaun 5K in Utica, MI on March 7th. Its 9 weeks way though, may try and fit another one in on February 14th if I am in town, the Paczki Run in Hamtramck, MI. That one is only 6 weeks off.

I walked (past the running age) my 5k virtual race. It took me 140 minutes walked on treadmill 2oing 15 mph to 2.8 mph. I played my radio and walked watching my beachwalk on the lucia islands. Which was nice. I accomplished my goal.

I signed up for the5K Pumpkin Run on October 25th. Had intended to run/walk it and had started the training plan early but then the three dogs decided to try to run through my knee so I've been recovering. Biggest dog is Daisy at 165 lbs, next is the 1 year old at 80 pounds and I think the 5 month old is up to 50 now. Ouch. Now I'm stuck walking it but it'll still be a challenge after having to take time to heal. My husband and multiple friends will be doing it with me though so it will be great!

I'm doing my first 5k as a training tool for an 18 mile fundraiser walk next month for suicide prevention. It seemed like a Nami Walk is a perfect lead up as they are both raising money for mental health.
