Hi- I'm Beck and I didn't alway eat this much sugar. Being in an office environment has turned me into a sugar monster and with a wedding coming up, now is a great time to cut this habit.

Hi - I'm Tina. With all the bad news about sugar in the news lately, it's gotten me thinking about how it affects my health and ways I can reduce it in my diet. Here goes nothing! :)

Hi, I'm Jo. I am going through "empty nest". I've always had a serious addiction to sweets, chips and chocolate, but it seems to be worse than ever right now. One thing I've noticed, is that I'm much more bored than I had previously been. Looking at volunteering at our local zoo to curb that, and hopefully, this challenge will help me get a grip on the sweets and junk!!

Hi, my name is Kim, and I have had an abusive love affair with sweets of all kinds for as long as I can recall. I just kicked cold-turkey (LOL!) a terrible addiction to Walgreen's Nice! brand kettlecorn. There is a sugar/salt/fat combination in it that is seriously addicting. I used to drink about 2 pots of coffee a day w/ cream and sweetner - having switched from sugar 2 years ago - but on Jan. 25 this year I had a heart attack scare, and when I got out of the hospital I poured a cup of coffee and as I was getting the items out to put into the coffee my stomach began to feel queasy, and when I tasted the black coffee my little taste buddies told me it was wonderful - sneaky little buggers. I have never liked black coffee before - and I have only been drinking one cup of black coffee a day ever since. I wish the rest of the bad-for-me stuff would disapear without a fight as well, but I really love ice cream. I especially love it with chocolate fudge Magic Shell on it, and that crap has 16g of fat per 2 TBSP serving - and really, who uses one serving?

I'm going to do my best to follow this team's program and see if I can't kick Sweet's butt! I'm ready for a good fight. LoL!

Hi, I am Colleen and my biggest downfall is soda pop, or pop as we call it here in Michigan. On the plus side, some of the foods I used to go crazy over like full fat ice cream actually make me kind of sick due to stomach issues so I have gotten used to avoiding certain items. Other foods are much harder to pass up. I hope to change that.

Hey, everyone! I'm Marnie and a total choco-holic...especially the dark stuff. At work, there are candy dishes all around so my thoughts seems to just linger on over from what I should be focused on to what yummy delight I might find outside of my office. There are days that I think I could live on chocolate alone. Of course, I would like to mix it up a bit...chocolate covered cherries, Almond Joy, Cadbury Fruit and Nut. I just stocked up on all sorts of fruits which my husband can just down with no problem - but not me. I have to really psych myself up to eat most fruits because they all seem a little tart or not sweet enough. I actually put a bit of cinnamon sugar on my apple today..helped but it would be nice to not crave and be so preoccupied with chocolate. Best of luck to all of us - especially with all the discount Valentines candy and the Easter stuff out in the stores!!!

Hey guys, my name is Patricia and since January I've lost about 18 lbs. But I know I can do better. I have such a sweet tooth it's not even funny. I want to curb it, but I also don't want to feel as though I'm restricting myself. I believe I'm getting healthier to HAVE a life, so I want to EXPERIENCE life :3. I've gone from 260 to 243 since January, I can't wait for July :3. I hope to be an inspiration, to myself and those around me.

Hey everyone,

My name is Keli and I am a sugar addict. I could literally eat sugar from day break to night fall. If I could be thin and eat only sweets I would. So I am joining this challenge to help curb my sweet tooth to help me in my weight loss.

Hi my name is Jasmine and I've been doing pretty good on the sweets; however I do slip and eat the skinny cow chocolates and crave them more than I should at times, my goal is to be able to control my sweet tooth and have self control.

Hi, my name is Rebecca and I am addicted to soda. It's a combination of the caffeine and the carbonation...and habit. I have started drinking black tea (with 2 tsp of sugar to knock out the bitter taste) to combat the caffeine headaches. Tried drinking carbonated water even with a few drops of flavoring and it just doesn't do it for me. The biggest problem is the habit...that seems to be the hardest part to break so far.

Hi, my name is Salma. I love sweets, especially chocolates. My biggest challenge is to control my evening sweet cravings. I have a 4.5 year old boy, who loves to share his food, especially his sweets. When I am sad or depressed I can pace the whole house for hours looking for a lost candy bar or a cookie. For the past two months I have been in kind of control. I binged twice but got back on track.
Wish me luck, and I wish you all the best

Hi my name is Dani. I joined because I'm sick of feeling fat...My sugar cravings are generally caused by stress and increase around my period, I've been trying to keep sugar out of the house, but with my husband it's really difficult because he's even worse of a sugar addict...though he doesn't gain the weight (jealous!). My problem is mostly portion control and carbs, I love carbs I wish I could eat them all day...But that's a change I'm slowly making.

Hi everybody. I'm Cindy. I don't eat a lot of food, but it is what I eat. It isn't always sugar, although I do go through phases of craving sugar. It can be homemade mac and cheese (I think pasta and grains create a sugar rush too). I crave a variety of things in phases. I have lost weight twice, successfully. The first time, I gained my weight back after maintaining for 8 years because I developed insulin resistance/pcos. The second time, I lost weight after caring for my medically fragile son. Daily, (no joke!) we were on the road driving to doctor appts. The weight came on when I ate fast food. Sooo, here I am again.

Hi, my name is Kim and my sugar cravings have suddenly gotten completely out of control. I used to be disciplined to have sweets in the house & have minimal amounts throughout the week. Now if anything sweet enters my house its gone within 48 hours at most. Like others mentioned, fruit is not working for me as a replacement at the end of a meal. I enjoy fruit but not as dessert unless its in a "bad" form like pie! I never used to have many cravings but the past year has been out of control.

Hi, I am realizing that I really love my cookies and cakes a lot. Yes,I have been able to cut down on them a lot. but it is a struggle. I just need a little help to keep me consistent in replacing that taste for sugar for something healthy. At one point in my life, I was able to resist sugar at every turn. But that is not the case now. It is something that I just love. I can tell that being on this site has helped me, so whatever reenforcements I can get. I welcome.

Hello! My name is Linda, but my grand kids call me Meemah. You can use which ever one you want! I joined this challenge because I want to become more aware of the sugar in my day and to learn how to avoid sweets when my husband brings home candy or ice cream for his sweet tooth. That is my biggest challenge but I am also having problems with Girl Scout cookies I ordered before I started this diet and at times like my grand daughters 3rd birthday party as she was literally shoving cupcakes in my mouth!

Hello. My name is Stephanie. I am addicted to sugar and want to kick the habit. I am trying to be a role model for my young niece. As a kid; my mom, whom is also a sugar addict, always had sweets in abundance. She's a diabetic now and I don't want to end up that way. My plan is to cut down the candy I eat on a daily basis then cut down the sodas.Best of luck to us all.

I am new . Just wanted to say hello. I grew up going to my grandma's every sunday and she always had lots of sweets. It started affecting my weight when I was in my 20s and was pregnant not realizing the outcome after the baby was born. This has been my biggest struggle in weight loss.

Hello!
I'm Sarah. Eating too many sweets is definitely my greatest challenge in eating healthy and losing weight. I love chocolate, fruity candies, cheesecake. I can usually so no, but living between my parents house and my boyfriends house, I have twice as many temptations. My parents will make brownies and buy cookies, my boyfriends family will buy a pie or make cupcakes. It's hard to say no to everything!
The hardest part is sometimes I'm given a small guilt trip "But we made enough for everyone!" "Please eat this we don't want left overs." "We bought it with you in mind!" "You can't leave yet we haven't had dessert." Ugh!

Hi I'm Liv! I eat way too much chocolate. I know dark chocolate is good for you in moderation but I love milk chocolate so much! I don't keep any at home but it's always at work and it's hard to stay away from. There are usually other treats there too but I tend to go for the chocolate. I will say I'm just going to have 1 or 2 but I always end up going overboard. I need to cut out that sugar!

Hi, I'm Doomimsee. I eat at Meals On Wheels congregate site every lunch time Monday through Friday. These are healthy meals. There are not many sweets given out there except for special occasions -- once a month birthday cake (not frosted) and Dixie Cup of vanilla ice cream. But, I receive free bread, sweet rolls, cakes, pies, cookies at the Salvation Army meal site plus suppers (this is dinner down here in Florida). I need to cut down on how many sweets I eat a week. I lost to my goal weight last June at TOPS. It took me 4 years from 2008 to 2012 to lose 80 pounds. Since June with all the holidays and not going to TOPS I have gained back 16 pounds, I joined a gym, went back to a TOPS club and am working hard to get it back off. As you have heard, keeping it off is the hardest.

Hi I'm Kristi and I'm hoping this challenge is just what I need to start kicking excess sugar out of my diet. I try not to keep it in the house, but often when I'm at the store I'll give in. Once it's in the house I'm done for. I love to bake, but little by little I will consume most of anything I make. I never wanted to admit just how badly I crave sweets or how much of them I eat, but it's time to face the music and do something about it!!

Hi! My name is Kris. I can safely control the sugar that comes into my house but I lose all control when I am out or at a party or work. When I crave sugary treats I usually give in and end up overindulging. I know that reducing sugar intake will help me stick to my overall plan and also help me get rid of some extra weight!
I think i am going to find I have alot of hidden sugar sources in my diet. This should be an interesting learning experience!

I am hoping to feel this way when I have detoxed my body of all the refined sugars: emoticon

Hi I have just joined this challenge. Have successfully completed Week One on Spark People and lost 2.6lbs, but I know my craving for chocolate (I can easily eat two 125g bars in a day) will rear its ugly head. Thankfully I have also chosen to give up Chocolate for Lent so have an added incentive not to turn to it. I am hoping by doing this challenge as well I may knock it on the head emoticon

Taking it one day at a time to reach my goal :-)

I love da candiezz.

Truly, I think that sugar has been the biggest stop between me and my goal weight. I find that I want to eat something sweet immediately after eating a meal or even when I see something that might have some sugar in it. Luckily, I can't eat wheat, so that has helped quite a bit in the cookie, donut, and cake department, but I'm looking forward to seeing what kinds of things I can do to keep myself from eating bags of candy the moment I see them. I eat so much sugar on a regular basis that it often makes me feel foggy, jittery, and uncomfortable. (Why must there be a vending machine at my work??)

Hi, I'm Paula, and I'm a sugarholic. Is that how this works? ;) No, really, I have a serious problem with sweets, and when I let the sweet tooth have its way, that's all I want. Fruits & veggies don't taste good. I turn to sweets for all of the stresses in my life, and it's my go-to comfort food. I've had limited success in the past in taming the sugar beast in me, but each time I fall back into the same old habits. I'm hoping that joining this challenge and working through the 4 weeks will help me get a handle on this addiction.

Hello, my name is Beckie. I LOVE sweets and baking and entertaining. Basically anything to do with sweets. I am 32 and am bigger than I have ever been. This is after giving birth to 5 children. I want to lose 50-55lbs as soon as possible, but I have this terribly controlling sweet tooth. It doesn't help that there is always a reason to celebrate something or to make someone feel better. I have 9 children and baking is one of the things many of us enjoy doing together. It's proving difficult to curb that habit or trade it with another one. Any suggestions are welcome. I am looking forward to being part of this group.

Always a better tomorrow...

Hi my name is Julie and l am a chocolate addict, dark chocolate with nuts are my favorite! Once l start, l usually consume way more than l should, if l refrain from giving into the temptation for a day or 2 then l get to craving it and eventually give in! l know if l could get a handle on this l probably would begin to lose weight again, instead of slowly creeping up the scale.

Any tips would be appreciated!

Hi! My name is Mary Louise and I LOVE DESSERT and baking! I can't have just one cookie...I eat until I'm sick! I'm giving up sweets for Lent and figured this was a great way to help me. I'm hoping what they say is true that the cravings will die down after the first week! I've been struggling getting back on track after the holidays because of the sugary desserts.
