Hey everyone, I am Andy... a teacher/vice principal here in British Columbia. Been a member of Spark since 2009. In that time I have lost about 50, gained about 40 and recently lost about 10 more. I am determined to get to my goal weight of 180 but that is still 80 lbs away. Just wondering if this 5 day buddy system might work.

Howdy everyone! I joined the team yesterday & I've just engaged in a challenge! I reached maintanence in Dec & have been doing great, until now. Pretty much since I've reached maintenance, I've been slightly under goal but now, I'm 1.8 over my goal weight & I don't like it at all. That's not a lot but I've learned, nip in the bud immediately, so I'm not messing around. This 1.8 has got to go - now!





MAINTAINING... it's what I do.

Glad you joined....feel free to hit anybody up for a challenge. Start at the top and read, you'll find out pretty quickly how to do what....or ask one of us....I challenged 3 people since I've started this. I usually "recruit" (challenge someone from outside the group in order to introduce them to the concept. I have lost 25 lbs since starting this team. We are here because short stints of accountability work for us....but we still have to do what physiologically works with our bodies...eating strategically and moving our rears!

Hi. It just occurred to me that I've been using this team for 5 days and hadn't introduced myself.

I'm a semi-retired, self employed bookkeeper and IT professional in western Colorado-grown children, and six grandkids with whom I spend as much time as possible.

Jane and I just finished 5 days that was very successful for me - I dropped 1.5 lbs!

Thanks for setting up the team. Great idea.

Thanks for inviting me to join the team. I'm Vicki, I'm 55, married to a wonderful man, and have a grown son that I adore but due to distance, don't get to see very often. Thank goodness for the phone and internet. LOL!
I'm working towards losing over 80 lbs and am working on 10 lbs at a time. No idea how long it'll take but would love to be at my goal by my birthday next year, so that gives me 16 months.
I am doing my own version of low carb. I did it in the 80's and lost 105 lbs in 13 months and kept it off for almost 30 years. It wasn't until menopause 7 years ago that I ran into a brick wall and regained every pound I had lost all those years ago. Also after marrying my hubby in 1996 eating habits changed drastically. So now I'm working to get my eating back to what it used to be and get this weight back off. Due to my age and activity level I don't expect to lose the full 105 lbs again. But if I could get back down about 80 lbs of it, I'd be thrilled. I have RA and inflammation in my back and hips so getting the weight off would help that drastically. Exercise is hard on me due the the inflammation but I try to walk at least 30 minutes a day and do stretching exercises. Any added support would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, my name is Cindy. I am married for 26 years in August. I have 2 children - son 23 with Aspergers and a daughter 20 with type 1 diabetes. I have had both knees replaced and I will be 45 in July. I run a Chiropractic office and care of my mother who has Alzheimer's. I haven't been good about taking care of me. But I am trying!

Everyone is doing the best they can with what they have and where they are.

Remember that the scale isn't the only way to measure weightloss success!

Hi my name is Delia. I found out about this team through GOLOPTIOUS (Jessica's) Blog. I need to find something that can help me over this plateau. I've been stuck at about 170 since before Christmas. I keep trying different things but I find that after the first week I loose focus. So maybe this is it. I can do 5 days!!!

Hi, my name's Tina and I'd love to buddy up with the other members of this team from time to time so we can both stay on track. I've lost 85 pounds and just recently reached my goal. Maintenance scares the bejesus out of me and I need all the help I can get to be sure I stay the course and don't regain everything I've worked so hard to lose. I think Kevin can attest to the fact that if you buddy up with me, I'll keep bugging you all five days.

My name's Tina. I lost more than 90 pounds between March 2010 and March 2012 and have been keeping if off ever since. Had a baby at the end of April 2016 and am working to get back to my pre baby form, or at least as close to it as I realistically can!

Welcome All Future Members, I'm Kevin.

I was chatting with a member (Jen's Mission) and out of the blue I challenged us to keep our goals for 5 days and share with each other our progress. Mainly because I needed to get back to my goals....I had an awesome start for 2 weeks and followed by a 2-week downward spiral. I needed to get back on track....sometimes I just need to know that somebody is going to ask. Hey, I'm imperfect and need other people. If this is you, you'll find success here knowing that others here WANT you to ask them to hold them accountable.

I am a teacher in an urban high school....Math and English. I lost 100 lbs in 98 over 15 months and added it back on over 8 years. I've maintained the same range 290 to 300 over the last 4 years, and am now tired of knee and back pain. I've added muscle but weight hasn't changed. I am confident it will...especially as we work together.

Please read the U-Challenge Defined and our goal so we are all on the same page. Thanks. Have fun and invite anyone to join us!
