Thank you everyone for the words of encouragement, advice, and sharing your successes! That is so motivational for me. :) :) I am a nurse and work nightshift. My most trying time for sticking to it will be when I am at work. I work for a pretty much every other week for a week straight. So much junk food and pop that I will have to turn down. I will though. I want people to be in shock! I want to hear to comments and compliments. I haven't heard them in 12 or more years. I will again. Thanks for being on the road with me!

As always Holly, your advice is right on. When I first started keto, I checked it with the keto sticks and never got more than a slight color change. Very discouraging. I was losing though...so I stuck with it. I've lost over 60 pounds and my various aches and pains are completely gone. I can run up and down steps now where previously I couldn't. I'm rooting for you. I know you can do it.

Hi Gayle I'm Holly and new to this team, but been on Keto since October 29. I'm down 42 pounds since then. My one word of advice to you..DONT CHEAT. not one morsel. Stay on plan..after a while you wont WANT to cheat. if you feel the need remember that cheating ONCE kicks you out of ketosis, stalls your loss, and it will take you a week (or more) to get back into ketosis. its just not worth it!!!
The scale moved fast my first 2 months then stopped. i lost nothing from Jan 11th till this week then bam i'm down 3!! Dont compare yourself to anyone else's loss..you will get discouraged. I see the huge numbers being put up and wonder why i'm not doing that even though i have stayed in my macros and calories 100%, then think hey..this is the lowest weight you have been since 1990...and you tried EVERYTHING...so NO questioning!!
I dont use the keto sticks. i eat the same food over and over..its boring..but i know its working. i have figured ways around everything..i made spaghetti and sauce with zoodles this week..a tiny amount of tomato sauce, and some heavy crfeam and herbs and burger and it was fantastic..no deprivation here!!
last thing..i own a bakery. Yes,,,i'm a professional pastry chef. And i'm not tempted at ALL by the smells, the visuals, anything. This works too well to mess it up with a bite of anything.

Hello! My name is Gayle and I am just beginning the Ketogenic diet today. My daughter has been doing it for a few weeks now and is losing weight steadily, even with some cheat days. Getting old sucks. I am now 48. I have been dealing with Rheumatoid Arthritis for years now, In the last couple of years, I have developed Asthma, Fibromyagia, and occasionally, Restless Leg Syndrome. So my weight NEEDS to change. It will reduce my pain, among many other things. I have been reading up on recommended websites, watching videos, getting myself psyched for sticking to this. I am really looking forward to the first time I use a ketosis stick and see that I am where I am supposed to be. I look forward to sharing this journey with you who are working at it like me, or have already had success. That will keep me moving forward.
