I've been on and off diets before as well, and its depressing having to tell people that I'm "dieting" again. Which is why, I haven't told any of my friends, except my husband. I want to have made some progress in losing weight before I announce it.

Good luck Steamy Texas! Martha324 has good advice, which I'm listening to, because she's been successful in the past and has maintained.

Persistence is more important than perfection.

Don't assume your freedoms are assured.

If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention.

From 2009 - 2010 I lost 100 lbs going to the gym and eating healthier/smarter. Then I hit my 40s. Hysterectomy in 2014 and have slowly gained majority of that weight back. Not only gained weight, but recently diagnosed with diverticulitis and hiatal hernia. Kinda feel like my 86 yr old mother!! I've half-heartedly tried to get back on track, but nothing seems to work. This site seems like a great place to try again. Hoping to get motivated and somehow find my willpower again.
