just completed W1D1. I feel good about it. I'm excited that I may just do this thing.
Thanks for the tip about the podcast, I will be checking them out tonight.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Luckily hubby has agreed we're both starting tonight and we'll do it Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturday mornings.

Also, check into the Ullrey podcasts to run with. Here is the link to the MP3 podcasts. They aren't maybe my favorite music to run with, but until I work up to longer stretches of running and use my own music, I really NEED these to tell me when to run and when to walk. I hated trying this program before w/out this kind of help. Always watching a stopwatch instead of just going for it.

Good luck! I wanted to start this for a year, but I was scared to. Now that I've started, I have found that I absolutely love it and look forward to running days. You can do it!

THANKS for that encouragement. I got a mp3 player, I've made 1 playlist. I know that will help me with this adventure.

Glad you are joining us! Don't be scared. I followed the program using my iPod Touch working for time (not distance). I've finished 2 5K races now. I followed the turtle theory... Slow and steady wins the race. I was very proud to come in 3rd in my age group in the last race. If I can do it... You can do it!!!

As far as I know, the group is based on the Couch to 5k ... which is a program. :)

It basically gives you a scheme of how you can go from not running at all to running 5k.

Don't waste your time being afraid, look forward to how proud you'll be when you make it. Just take it one step it at a time, listen to your body but don't baby yourself and you'll be fine! :)

Thanks Nikki, that was a great article - hadn't read that one before.

Hi HART10S. My first day I was gasping for breath. Turned out I was trying to run far too fast. Take it slowly at first.

Have fun!

Don't be afraid. You will find that the C25K program is a great introduction to running. I've completed the program successfully some time ago and I am starting it again due to the loooong break I had from running.

When I started running, I had problems with my breathing as well. I found the following article on SP and it proved helpful. I hope you will find it helpful as well.

Good luck!

I'd like to start running but don't have any idea how to do it right. Seems like it would be a natural occurance but when I've tried before, I don't seem to breathe right. I'll need lots of help.
