I just started C25K this month, and I can't believe I'm ready for week 3, since I have a history of quitting other exercise programs after a few days. I joined the track team in 7th grade to get out of playing softball (I am lousy at team sports), and I wasn't a great runner then, but I worked my way up to running a mile. That was in 1983, and I haven't run since then, except to catch the bus, LOL. But a friend inspired me when she lost 40 LBS by running, and I just decided one day to give it a try, 30 seconds at a time. After two weeks, I decided I was committed enough to this program to buy some new running shoes and running clothes. I found the shoes today, but I'm having a hard time finding wicking-fabric shorts & tees in a women's 3X. Anyway, cheers to all the other newbie runners out there!

This is my first time running, too. In fact, I was in modified PE class in high school and was told after a knee injury when I was 14 that I would never be able to run. When I started working out for the first time EVER about a year ago my doctor made me promise not to run.
Now I'm running with my doctor's blessing and no pain! (I'm on Week 5)
Seriously, If I can do this, anybody can. Just hang in there, and don't be afraid to go slowly!

its nice to know that others are doing that that have NEVER run before. I think I am going to try it. how long does the session last per day in the first week?

Huh, I guess I didn't die. I always thought I would!

Just stopped in to say hi and to warn you all that I've joined your team. Last night was W1D1 (details in my blog). I can't tell you how accomplished I already feel having run a total of 6 minutes! I am all ready for day 2 tomorrow!

I already have lots & lots of questions (about shoes, trail v road, posture, hydration...) but I'll save those for after I read through a bunch of old posts!

Looking forward to meeting you all!
