Welcome to the team! Sorry, but I can't provide any advice on diet for runners...

Welcome. Not much than a healthy diet for 5Ks and 10K when you do some major longer distance. There are good books out there on nutritional for endurance runners. One that is especially good is by Nancy Clark.

I've run off and on for years now, but never consistently. I even started doing C25K a few times but never finished it. But this time is different. I'm signing up to run a 5K on Labor Day. So I have to finish it! Running around here is tougher, we have hills, everywhere. It's near impossible to avoid. But that's ok, I suppose it will get my body in shape faster.

What is the ideal diet for a runner anyway? I do eat pretty healthy, but carbs, protein? What?

Nice to meet you all!
