Hi! You have taken the first step, and reached out for help and support. I am so sorry to hear about both the loss of your husbands, and your accident. It sounds like you are lucky to be alive! You can only do what you can do, so don't get discouraged because you can't do things yourself. I've been thru two rounds of cancer, and my stamina isn't what it should be, but I do what I can, when I can, and hope things will be better as I keep trying. I'm guessing since you also posted on this thread, that you have an interest in photography! Woo Hoo!! And welcome to the team. Check out the rest of the threads on here, check out some of the other members pictures, post often so we can get to know you, and you, us. Again, welcome!!

I don't think of myself as a very sparkly person right now. I decided to do this because I'm really down about myself right now. Besides turning 60 last month my first husband died last Sunday night of lung cancer. He never even smoked much, but he was a radar, electronic and computer engineer. They say his radiation total got too high. That means I'm in trouble as many x-rays as I've had since the drunk driver hit me 8 years ago. Yeah, head-on at 70 MPH. I was just getting over my last husband dying of lung cancer a year and a half ago. He smoked 4 packs of cigarettes a day for most of his 64 years, so he knew it was coming. He quit cold turkey about 5 years before he died - I guess it wasn't soon enough. My first husband only made it to 59 so I guess radiation is worse than cigarettes. Both were large, very strong men. So with my little bitty frail self I feel kind of weird outliving both of them. I would have never guessed. I was very athletic before I met the drunk driver. I climbed mountains and had several black belts. Now I worry about my health because I'm so limited. My right leg still gets me around but only with a crutch, cane, etc. I do my upper body strength exercises. I hope that's good enough. Well, this is turning out to be a bummer, but I did join the depression group! I'll post again when I'm perkier.
