Hi! I'm not following the Eat-Clean Diet completely, but I'm pretty close.

The hardest part for me is eating five small meals a day. I'm not used to eating that often.

Have a great day!

Hi, I'm Amy! I also happened upon this group and decided it was for me. Eating clean is something I recently decided to incorporate into my lifestyle. I read some of the member's posts about how much better they feel and how much more energy they have since they started eating clean and that just reaffirmed my decision. I ordered Tosca's Recharged book and one of her cookbooks (haven't gotten them yet), and I picked up Eating Clean magazine at Walmart today. I'm really excited to start this new venture and glad I found this group!

I have not looked at the team definition of Eating Clean yet, but I will... for me, eating clean means shopping around the perimeter of the store and avoiding bar codes - fruits, veggies, more produce, fish, eggs, dairy, an occasional bison steak! With the exception of grains, such as rolled oats or quinoa.

Thanks for having me so I can learn and contribute!

My name is Ebone, 24 yrs old from Jacksonville, FL and I just started the Eat Clean Diet yesterday. It was very good. I was not hungry throughout the day and I found that I naturally stay in my calorie range in this diet. I love that 'cause I don't have to count calories anymore. I just need to work on water consumption. I hope to get past this yo-yoing that has been happening with my weight for the past 6 wks. Today I grocery shop and prepare food for the rest of the week. emoticon

Hi!!

I'm Natalie, a 35 y/o Jamaican. I joined SparkPeople in October 2008 when I was at my heaviest, 245lbs!!

I've revamped my diet, but I still allow myself the occasional indulgence. I love the Eating Clean way of life and am constantly trying to find different ways of incorporating new foods. I tried quinoa today and LOVED it!! I look forward to learning and sharing ideas on how to maintain an Eating Clean lifestyle here!!

Hi! I'm Jo Ann, a Reference Librarian from New Jersey. My new life journey is to eat healthy and lose another 40 lbs this year. I started 6 months ago but just became a Spark person at the end of January. I have shed 35 lbs to date by cutting some of the junk. I like the concept of eating clean...I am a newbie somewhat to this concept and looking forward to learning tips from those who have been practicing this for a while.

Hi Ginger

Thanks:) Actually I have started adding wild fish into my diet, I started about a month ago. As I have hypothyroidism and have found out I am allergic to a couple kinds of bean, and need to cut the tofu way down I had to start looking at my proteins and what I could do to get myself healthy again. So I started eating some fish. The most important thing about eating fish is to know what you are eating, so you can keep it sustainable and be able to choose lower mercury fishes. So far I enjoy wild salmon sashimi the best, and it's one of the best ways to go so that's great! (other than the smaller fishes of course)

And yes I know what you mean, I've tried in the past to go all or nothing and it always failed on me. That's why I like my new system because I don't feel like I am depriving myself of anything. Sugar is a battle as it is such a strong addiction for me but I'm working on it.

Thanks again and have a great day:)

Hi, Jaz~I was vegetarian about 15 years until I added wild, pacific fish back to diet. Yet, all the while, I struggled with my weight because I never totally ate clean....still ate sweets/sugars. All I can say is, I’ve seen people with weight issues struggle when they eat “extreme” diets. Work what’s best for you, knowing that the goal is to eat clean, be fit & healthy. Good luck.

hello everyone:)

I have been a vegetarian for about 16 years more then half my life. I was vegan and on a no processed food diet for over a year and felt great but then went traveling for 4 months and it all blew away. Now I am back to the beginning again and slowly getting myself off the processed food again. For the last few weeks I have been doing a fresh veggie or fruit juice (juicer) for breakfast, and good sized lunch, and my super smoothie for dinner. I am loving this new eating light and mostly raw thing. I am beginning to feel better and have noticed an increase in energy:)

I feel so blessed to be able to afford to treat my body well and eat mainly organic whole foods.

Jaz

Hey! I was just on Skinnypup's website as she is MOD and after reading her intro became aware of this team and wanted to be a part of it. I have been into clean eating for quite a few years now and seem to be getting better at it all the time, but I still have my slip ups which set me back on my weight loss. For me clean eating is not only necessary to reach my weight loss goal but also to live happy, healthy and alert! Thanks Skinnypup!

Have been in SP 2 years, with inconsistent success. Tired of the yo-yo thing for past 40 years & FINALLY want to get healthy/eat clean/be fit & consistent forever.
Was vegetarian 15 years or so, member &/or co-founder of 3 organic food co-ops in 3 different states, since Alaskan cruise 8 years ago, have added wild, pacific fish back to diet.
It's in my weak moments when I'm feeling alone/ vulnerable that I find myself seeking solace in my comfort foods & all my efforts fall by the wayside.
Was TOTALLY drawn to SKINNYPUP's site & the entire concept.

Hey, I joined SP this month, but I'm happy to have found this group. I love eating clean, and I'd love to find out more from others who do too. I'm lucky, here in Indianapolis, I have a lovely delivery service to bring me local (when in season), organic produce, meat and dairy every week. I feel so much happier and healthier this way! Happy to be part of the group.

Hi. I joined this group because I understand "clean eating" to be eating foods as close to their natural forms as possible. No extreme processing, additives, or alterations.

I realize that this is what my mother did for us while growing up. We would just have a pile of steamed broccoli on our plate. No pasta or cheese or sauce on it, not even salt and pepper. Sometimes I didn't like it (I HATED unseasoned/unadorned meat!) but for the most part I grew up appreciating the REAL taste of food.

Now I'm trying to instill that appreciation in my daughter, and (more of a challenge) my husband. For the sake of our health for the rest of our lives.

Good group! Looking forward to learning more.

Best,
-Tanya

Hello team, I just rejoined SP again. (And this time I plan to stick with it!) Eating clean just makes sense to me, both from an environmental point of view as well as from a health conscious mindset. But for me it is still so easy to get sidetracked when life gets too busy.. That is why I love stopping by here for inspiration and advice to get back on track. Happy to be back!

Hello, I've recently joined SP. It's great to see a clean eating group on here because that's the direction I've decided to go in.

I just started my Spark Page recently so stop by. I hope to get pics up sometime soon.

I came upon clean eating because I was sick of the other ways I had tried to lose weight. I was sick of the Lean Cuisines, Special K Bars and Smart Ones desserts. It just didn't seem right.

As you'll see on my Spark Page I also make a little confession about my Fast Food issues. But I've been looking over the Clean Eating Diet for a few weeks now and I've been gradually making some changes. I now feel ready to dive in head first and chuck my fast food, convenience food way of life.

I've already noticed that some foods are starting to taste too salty or too sweet. I'm excited to see the changes ahead as I give this program my all. My husband has been enjoying the new and varied dinners that I've been cooking so he's on board as well!

Glad to be a part of this group!

~Dani~

Hello my name is Monica and I have some friends that are very awesome eat-clean people. The husband is a Dr. in that field. He has taught at our church and that is where and when I was first introduced to it. BUT it wasn't for me at that time. Now I am ready to turn over a new leaf. I want to learn how to eat clean. I have the eat-clean book that I rented from the library. I am reading it now. I do believe this is something I want to do. My husband is excited about it too! I will need LOTS of help PLEASE!

Hello everyone, my name is Robin and I'm on a mission to clean up my diet. For several weeks I had been having "digestive issues" that were not only very uncomfortable but also very annoying. I started to think I had a gluten allergy so I was checking all the labels when suddenly one ingredient stood out - Olestra. I have a crunchy/salt addiction and so the fat free pringles was my snack of choice. I knew immediately that was my problem. Within 24 hours of not eating them I started feeling better; a week later and things seem back to normal.

But that's only the beginning. I just ordered Tosca's Eating Clean Diet, and I'm joining this team to learn how to put it all in practice!

Hi everyone...My name is Deb and I'm from Massachusetts. I was turned onto clean eating by a SP's blog and was so intrigued I went out & bought both of Tosca's books. I just finished my first week of clean eating and it really wasn't hard. I find most days I end up eating around 1200-1300 calories without counting. I can't believe it! I'm glad to be here.

Hi My sparkname is 1AVERY my actual name is Teri.
I started somewhat eating clean late last year with the plan of doing it come January. I did start out gungho but have sort of declined. I do want to get back on track with it and I just happened to see this team so I thought just maybe this would help me motivate myself back to the challenge of eating clean. I have the cookbook and Eating Clean recharged I have read the revised edition as well. I got some recipes from the family and kids book. My grandson's father is doing the eat clean for men and my 15 year old grandson is supposed start doing it also. I hope he does but it probably won't happen he doesn't eat veggies hardly at all.
I went out and bought alot of the items in the book, agave nectar, protein powder and all the different flours to bake with I have made a lot of muffins etc with the power flour recipe. I do eat the oatmeal mix for breakfast most mornings. So hopefully after March break when I am done with the grandchildren I can get myself back on track with eating clean. Teri

STAY POSITIVE AND SMILE. DON'T BE DISCOURAGED WHEN YOU HAVE A BAD DAY. THEY CAN ONLY GET BETTER.

Hello everyone, I am Donna. I have been trying to eat cleaner for the last several months. I have read "The Eat-Clean Diet" and also have the cookbook and I subscribe to the magazine Clean Eating. I still have good days and bad days but I am trying my best to every day eat better. My focus right now is to eat less salt and sugar and butter and eat more healthy foods. Lots of fruits and veggies and less preservatives and things that I cannot spell or pronounce. It is one step at a time and I AM A WORK IN PROGRESS!!

Hello everyone....Welcome to the team. I have been eating clean for about 3 weeks and I feel great. My blood pressure is down significantly. I have a few other health issues that have dramatically improved. I can't wait to see what happens as I continue down this road. I can't believe that I can actually eat a salad with only olive oil and really enjoy every bite. I ordered the Clean Eating Magazine so I can get some creative cooking and recipe ideas.
