good morning! Woke to a thunderstorm that wasn't predicted. Kind of cozy lying in bed listening to it. So much for gardening this morning. Have to see the chiropractor, never take a chance by not going every 2 weeks. It can turn bad in a heartbeat. But today is a new day, a new month a new beginning if one wishes and I do. I still haven't finished the Spark and now will have to review the beginning too. I went thru a lot of these things I see here including a close divorice encounter but one has to leave the past in the past as we read here so often. When you keep dragging past things into the present it stops any healing and getting close again. I know, took me a long time to forgive and i regret that wasted time and angry days. Once again Al Anon made me realize i was just keeping myself and hubby in a bad place. I wanted him to feel the guilt etc. That just keeps the hurt and anger going and for what purpose, neither of us was happy or healing. Oops. Didn't mean to get on that but don't like to see anyone stuck in that place. Brenda, hope you will feel better today, this site is always here for you. Still storming here but is my first day off so i will just enjoy my coffee and catch up in here. Have a good or better day everyone! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I really feel the weight of many of our burdens this morning. I woke up in a very sad mood and weirdly it's where I've wanted to stay?

GAYLYNNERN - It's great to see you on SparkPeople and I hope you will check back in with us. As stated by others this is a great group to get support from.

JERSEYGIRL - Please find some help if you can. I know the leaders on this board are great at offering support and can provide you with information if you still need it. Hang in there and let us help if we can.

Terrie - My heart just aches for you. Mainly because I do understand a little of what you and your husband are facing. We don't have trust issues but we have plenty more and some days it's all I can do to even be around him. I don't even want to go home. I am praying for you and this situation that you both can find some peace and understanding in what is happening. emoticon to you.

Camper96 - I hope that there is a solution for the medications. I do agree that sometimes they are needed to help us but other times I know it can seem like a lot. Thinking of you!

Godly08 - I am glad you keep checking in. It's always good to see you!

Linda - emoticon

Jude - I went to see the new Twilight movie: Eclipse. I love those books and have enjoyed the movies. A few friends got together for the midnight showing. I realized I'm not that much of a fan though, LOL! Next movie out I'll go see in the daytime.

Georgine - emoticon emoticon Missed seeing you but I understand how those gardens can take time.

Kris - It's so great to have your grandson there. My parents have 4 grandkids and they never get to spend time with them. I don't have any kids but if I did they'd be at their grandparents ALL the time. It's such an honor and a blessing to have that time together. Which today would have been my Grandpa's 100th birthday. He's been gone 12 years now but I still miss him terribly. He was such a big part of my life and I'm so very thankful for every moment I had with him.

To all those that haven't been here in a while. You are missed.

This is getting a little long but I enjoy being on here and reading everyone's post. All of you are such a comfort and I am thankful for your listening.

Katie

Katie - hope you got to sleep and had a good one!!

Tina - whether YOU think it is too many meds or not isn't so much the point. The point is that the Psychiatrist obviously thinks that it is needed or he/she wouldn't have prescribed them. Sometimes learning to accept a situation (including the medications) can go a long way for us to heal! Perhaps to set your mind at rest you could ask for a review of ALL your medications whether they are p.meds or not.

Terrie - I can understand your husband wanting to snoop and not trusting because of the recent history, but two wrongs don't make a right. He appears to be having a very difficult time accepting what has happened. Just make sure that you don't get into an argument over it. Walk away - if you haven't done anything since you can hold your head up and it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks. To me it seems like he might be in the anger part of grief! Have you heard any more on the apartment situation - maybe the sooner one turns up the better!

Linda, not the best way to start a day, but it is a lot better than COULD have been! Glad it was better, after, tho'.

GAYLYNNERN - welcome and congratulations on your first post! congratulations also on take yourself to the Y. If this is the first foray into exercise, just start off gently and not for a long period of time. This will allow your body to ease into the exercise routine without causing problems, physically as well as getting sick of it before it has really become a routine.

My 15 year old grandson came out today to stay a few days. He got sent home from school a little bit early because he wasn't well, and isn't going to school tomorrow - the school holidays start then - so they asked if he could come out today. He had asked me yesterday if he could come out for a few days. I enjoy having him here and he and his grand-dad get on very well - I love hearing them chatting together as they potter around making things or working on one of the cars, or grandson's push bike.

Ugh, I get off work after working a TWELVE HOUR SHIFT and run into the man who makes me smile. Have a nice conversation then let him get to work. Get grilled when I get home for being 30 minutes late from when I told him I was off and asked to divulge details about my conversation and threatened that if I had been much later I would've found my suitcase under the carport and that if I leave to go talk to him then I better make sure I tell him WHY I'm not trusted.

emoticon

Sucks coming home to this crap when I'm already sore all over from being on my feet for so long. I can feel the tendinitis flaring up ALL OVER my body and part of me just wants a drink(nothing strong). I'm so depressed though and don't feel like it would help ANY of my pain, emotional or physical.

Hi everyone! i didn't realize it had been so long since I checked in. I have been busy with the gardens yet, hopefully can finish these next few days if it doesn't get too hot. Still crazy weather, spring, summer and fall all rolled into one month not too mention the days and days of rain. I don't want to complain too much as don't like upper 80's or lower 90's either as can't stand the humidity then. I will try and catch up in the coming days. time for bed now, busy day at work. Have a good nite everyone, no spiders, ick! emoticon emoticon

Hi all!

Thanks Katie, take it easy today. What movie did you see?

Terrie, D shouldn't be snooping on you but like Nancy i believe the reality of your situation is probably hitting him just now. Just answer no and let it be.

Tina, i hope you are able to resolve your med issues with your doctor too. Mum is on 28 pills a day and we are trying to get her into her GP to sort out what she really needs to keep taking too.

Lynda, Hi!!!

Linda, i hope the rest of your day went more smoothly

Gaylynnern
emoticon . Will keep you in my prayers. This bunch is worth their weight in gold, you will find great support here.

Nancy, Have a great day!!!

emoticon GAYLYNNERN to Daily Check-in and spark (I noticed this was your first post). You have come to the right place for support and encouragement. I think many of us at one time or another have felt unworthy and low self esteem. I actually have to work on this continually. It is great to have my team-mates/buddies/friends here as they allow me to vent and can understand where I am coming from.

Check in as often as you can. Start with setting a few small goals for yourself and you will discover that by being consistent - small steps will add up and you will soon not be miserable.

Linda - Sounds like your day didn't get off on the right foot - maybe the left foot. Hope it is better. Did you ever get your pedometer exchanged?

Tina - When does your doctor come back from vacation? Stick with setting small goals and working on changing the things you can - perhaps your doctor will notice improvement and make some changes to your medications in your favor.

Terrie - I wouldn't get into it with your husband, probably anything you say is falling on deaf ears. Do you think reality may be hitting him right now?
6 days straight - take care to get enough rest when you can.

Anyone here from Rebecca lately??

Nice to hear from everyone else!!

A few short announcements - Come share your July goals in the Share July goals thread and July's calendar is 31 days to being less stressed. We are going to try and discuss each day.

Hello everyone. Yesterday at work I was told "it is obvious you are so miserable". And they are right. Life is hard and I've made it even harder with obesity feeding into my unworthiness and low self esteem. I just wish I could find someone to be nice to me and encourage me. So, today I actually went to the YMCA and spent time on the treadmill and time lifting weights. Please pray for success and consistency for me. Thanks.

I'm hitting the caffeine hard myself today. I got a couple of rude awakenings at 6am. First there was a sound of ringing about 10 times or more, really shrill too, I figured out my husband forgot his work phone and then it wouldn't stop ringing. I think I fell back asleep then there was this sound of footsteps which scared me but I yell out, Ed is that you(Like a dummy)thankfully it was him getting his cell phone with his crew of guys, then there was a bird that sounds like a dripping faucet, its so wierd of a sound. So that was the start of it but has been nice after that. So anyways Have a nice day everyone. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Today I'm not doing real well. Worn out from watching my grandson. I think I take to much medicine. Makes me feel real bad off if I need that much. I take a lot of different ones. I take 4 different ones just to keep my head straight. I think thats to many.

Hey everyone. It's back to the grind for me today. They have me working the next six days in a row. I hope I can handle it. Most of it is afternoon/night shifts, so maybe it won't be too bad.

Had a bad night with D. He keeps saying that I've already found someone else, but it hasn't even gotten past the point of an acquaintance yet. He got on a site I use and snooped on me. I'm not doing anything wrong and he still feels the need to do this. It bothers me. He should be trying to regain his trust in me, but instead he choose to continue distrusting me and accusing me of finding a replacement already. Ugh!

So it's not been a good morning. I'm hoping it doesn't boil over into the rest of the day. Going to try to make it the best day I can. Gotta brush my teeth and get ready.

Good Morning All! I'm gonna leave the s p i d e r talk alone emoticon

Jude - I hope your Mom heals well and takes her time to heal properly.

TDODGE - I saw a few posts that you were still having headaches. I hope you are getting some relief from those.

I'm a little slow thinking this morning. I went to a midnight movie last night and let's just say I am not in TOP form today. I want to sleep so badly it's all I can do type these words out properly emoticon

I've got a weigh in tomorrow at work. I feel I've done decent this past week and as long as it doesn't show a gain I will be happy.

All the best to everyone today!!! I'm going to find some caffeine. emoticon

Jude - has your mum applied for Home Help thru ACC? She will be able to get that to help her with household chores, and probably grocery shopping, Dr's visits if need be, showering if necessary, etc.
I had it for 7 weeks after my accident. You have to be pretty quick tho' to get it.

Now, spiders..... I am excited again Jude - I am jumping up and down in my seat - the reason? I DO... I DO know people who have been bitten by White Tail Spiders! One was my best friend - she sat in her partner's car and got bitten at the very top of her leg - around her bum!! I got quite bad - just as well he was a Paramedic - realised what it was and she went to the Dr and they had to keep going back. It was a potent dose of antibiotics she went on and very nearly had to go to hospital. Evidentally it is what they have been eating right prior to the bite that causes the most problems. I have only seen 2 of those spiders, but do know that there are tons around. They were both at my house - her daughter showed me one IN THE HOUSE on the bedroom wall where she was sleeping - they are fairly small - and the other was on the wall outside the house. I know a few others who have been bitten by them, and the mess had to be debrided!

My daughter is KINGSIZED spider phobic - in fact any sort of bug phobic! She has huge panic attacks including getting her and her then 6 yr old son standing on top of the bench in the kitchen and phoning her boyfriend (now husband) to travel 25 miles to get the bug out of the house for her - LOL! She has nearly passed out many times because of it. Mind you, a former boyfriend WHO WAS A SECURITY GUARD was known to run away from a 'HERD OF MONARCH BUTTERFLIES!!' He had gone to do a security check and a few flew past him and he was GONE - LOL! What a big brave man he was :-)

I have been out all day - took my Mum and my Stepfather to a Mid Winter Xmas Party for the Old fogies group they belong to. There were about 70 of us and we had Roast Lamb, Hot Ham, and plenty of fancily prepared veges and then Fresh Fruit Salad with whipped cream and Pavlova for dessert - yuuuummmm! I then took her to her Dr appointment because on Sunday I had to take her because she was quite ill. She had been on the verge of Hospital then. She has been told that when her feet start to get a bit puffy again, then she has to drop back from the 8 cups of fluid a day. (remember that NOT everyone can manage 8 cups/glasses for health reasons when pushing them to have as much as possible)

Hi all. I am so tired today from traveling yesterday, but other wise I feel pretty good. Since I was so tired hubby let me sleep. So we didn't exercise. I am gonna do it here in about 15 min. I am gonna talk to the hotel manager and see if I can use the pool before it opens to the public. I do not have a "public bathing suit body". Hopefully they will agree.

One of my friends neices was just hospitilized from a spider bite they think from a brown recluse spider which is only found in Texas and Mississippi but we are in MN and her arm swelled up to bigger than her leg and there was another lady in there with the same thing. Probably hitched a ride in a box. I heard of another lady that got bit by one that came out of her grapes. SO WATCH OUT!!!

Good Morning all,

Everyone appears emoticon to be hanging in there.
You all inspire me on each day.

Linda - you make me emoticon and keep a emoticon on my face.

Jude - I am so sorry about your mom. I hope she recovers nicely. My mom (81) actually fell the other night and banged up her leg. Thank goodness no broken hip, especially at her age.

Well, I am having to jump in the shower and try to continue waking up today. See my psychiatrist at 4.

Make the most of today.

Hi all!

Tina, i hope you are able to find some sort of resolution with your workers comp case

Katie, i've never seen any really large spiders here.

Linda, stick to the fruit and veges, i want to keep you around.

Hi Nancy!!!

Jenni, congrats on your weight-loss. I'm happy that you are feeling better.

BNT, you're so lucky to have your hubby's support with exercising, i envy you.

Hiya Kris!!!

Still plodding along here. Mum has had a set-back though. She fell and has broken her wrist in 3 places. It's tough on a 80yo and more so because her partner has just had a knee replacement. Prayers would be appreciated.

emoticon to all.

re the craving chocolate - I had read an article by a Dietician or Dr. Eating chocolate was actually "prescribed" but done in a particular way. It needs to be GOOD quality chocolate (high % cocoa) and NOT Palm Oil in it! Look at it (like REALLY look at it) - smell it - bite of a tiny bit and hold it in your mouth - savour the aroma, the taste - roll it around in your mouth doing the same - slowly chew it - pay attention to what you feel, what you taste and what you smell - then swallow. Do this a couple more times, and then put the rest away for the next day. Evidentally the science is that people will actually consume FAR LESS chocolate, and no longer crave it, and therefore you are less likely to binge on it!

Your hubby sounds like a treasure :-)

Hi everyone, I am well today. We (hubby and the company he works for and I ) moved from Flagstaff, AZ. to Cedar City, UT about 300 miles. Had normal breakfast, didn't get my water intake (didn't want to stop and pee every 10 minutes, as there were not many places to pee) had a cheese stick on the road for lunch, had 2 Taco bell soft taco supremes for Dinner with unsweetened tea. On the good side, I did my strength training and hubby did them with me. We are pretty tired. Hubby agreed to do 30 mins. of cardio with me in the morning before he goes to work. I am blessed to have a supportive hubby. Really craving chocolate. Better drink so more water. I hope all is well with everyone, take care. emoticon

Linda - hold your hand out - I am going to give you a smack on the wrist!! Diabetes.....record high junk food consumption - smack! smack!! it is quite likely WHY your energy level is non-existant!!

Tina - I agree with Nancy - sometimes we have to learn that we can only move on by letting go! Only then will you truly be able to heal!

Katie - the spiders aren't particularly big here apart from a couple breeds that are really timid and I've never seen altho' they are in my area. The Avondale Spider was used for the movie Arachnophobia - Australia is the place for BIG... as in humungous!! A friend lived in Oz for a while and she said you could hear them walking across the floor - I didn't believe her, but then quite a few others have told me the same thing. They all mention INCHES across!!! NZ'd largest spider is about 5 inches across - leg-span - with a body length of about an inch., but is only found in one little tiny area of the South Island. Just thought you might like some useless information - LOL!

Jenni - I a glad that your pity party is over :-) You have come to a very good conclusion with your thoughts! Congrat's with the weightloss, too - well done!-D

Hi Team, I have good news .... I am no longer depressed and my pity party is over!!!! Many of you SPMailed me and commented on my SPPage and I am grateful, for your prayers, words of wisdom and encouragement and even the one or two of you that rebuked me (in love I know). Thank you.

Happy Monday All - Make today count!!

Linda - give the weatherman a week - the forecast will change emoticon

Terrie - I think you are right on with not discussing with friends/family.

Tina - I don't know what else to say on the workman's comp. subject. It may be time to just move on. I know you don't want to hear that, but it seems like you have done everything possible.

Humid day here in Mass. I hope you all stay cool and dry.

Good Morning,
Don't have much going on this week, just a couple stops at some grocery stores to get a few things and group today, hopefully lunch with someone from there. I have plans over the fourth though but it sounds like rain so things may change. My energy level is nonexistant and my eating junk has reached a record high but I'm also eating lots of fruits so thats good. Have a good one.

I won't be able to respond to everyone but "HELLO" to all!

Linda - I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I will keep her family in my prayers as well as you. emoticon

Camper - That does sound like a nightmare what you are dealing with. I am so sorry and I hope you can find someone to help you get it done and over with!

Jude - You are a doll but I am sorry to say I am TERRIFIED of spiders. I have heard they have pretty big ones in NZ and while I want to visit there if I saw one they'd be putting me in the local hospital from fainting!

Terrie - I'm glad to hear that you and D are able to have some time from Ally to be able to talk and work things out. I'm sorry that it has come to this but you both need some time and I hope the apartment hunting goes well.

Kris - I'm sorry you are having trouble with your hip. Hope it is feeling better.

To all the new people - emoticon . I hope you will continue to hang out with us.

I had a pretty decent weekend and I am really looking forward to next week. We will be at the beach for the majority of the week and I'm so ready!! I hope everyone has a great Monday. emoticon

Hi, everyone. I'm feeling not so bad at the moment. I try to not think about my attorney. He depresses me to no end. I think he took a pay off from my company and I can't do anything about it. I don't know who to contact and my case is 5 years old now and hard to find an attorney that would take it on. It's a workers comp case. This has been a nightmare I can't wake up from. Lost my job, my future and my whole life the way we had everything planned, our insurance and it just goes on. There I am thinking about it again. I do try to forget but it finds me somewhere every day and haunts me. In our state it is human torture. I live in Ohio and the Bureau of workers comp don't help much and the company in selfinsured and won't really help you get better. I just don't know what to do.

Di, glad to hear you are on the right track with your meds emoticon

Terrie, i'm so pleased you and hubby are sorting things out amicably...so much better for Ally. Trust your instincts as parents and keep it civil and it will all work out.

Linda - it is very sad about your friend. Finding the Cancer only 3 days before dying is VERY quick, and obviously is a considerable shock to everyone. I know it is hard to believe, but there is a plus - your friend obviously didn't suffer through a lot of treatments and the condition itself. That is a blessing!

Jude - did you hear that they are talking about making the Katipo a protected species?

DIJOHNSON2010 - I'm glad that your medication has been sorted. Great one on the samples too!

Terrie - it sounds like you are working through things well, now, and that your hubby is 'playing ball' so to speak. He obviously has had a wee think about things and realises the sense in what you are doing. Perhaps it MAY be wise to keep your families in the dark until it is fait accompli.

I had good evening at work. Time seemed to stand still at one point, but it crept on by. Got to see Mr. Silly Man again. As soon as he saw me, he flashed me this big smile. Lord, give me strength. LOL D and I also discussed divorce settlements today. He understands my position on things and realizes I am trying to make it as easy as possible on us all. We have also chosen not to tell our family of our decisions bc they can't seem to have faith in our abilities as parents and adults to make the best decisions for our child. I don't like some of the assumptions they have made either. Very disappointing so I think it best to not share the info with them.

Ran into that guy at work again. More like he came up to me today. No more glances... Well there were some, but he was also coming up to me to talk and mess with my work(just bugging me and messing around basically). Funny guy. Word is he's a total sweetheart. Hasn't asked for my number and hasn't been overly flirtatious. Just nice and funny. Quite a change from what I'm used to. Will be a while before I see him again. Going to try to keep it that way while it is so things can progress slowly.

I had a guardian angel come and fix my problem. They were able to get me a med change from Venaflaxine to Cymbalta with out having to ween off the Venaflaxine. and with the Cymbalta I get to be well stocked with samples. Since Thursday, I have felt so much better, less tired and sleeping better.

The spider tattoo is by my right shoulder blade. My DH nicknamed me spider about 18yrs ago, not sure why. I like the NZ Katipo because of the splash of red on her back & she's strong. Related to the Black widow spider apparently

Hello to all of you
today isn't' a good day again. Just want to go back to bed and pull the covers over my head and stay there, I want to be able to go to group tomorrow but my back is going out on me and well we'll see how it is tomorrow. I lost a friend this week to breast cancer, I feel real bad for her family, her husband , her kids. She was only 43. My other friend who died from cancer 4 mon. ago was only 42, she had kids, husband too. Its just very hard when so young. They found her cancer only 3 days before she died. I hate to be such a downer today.
