I've hardly been on here, and so far it's a struggle. I've kind of decided to work on my eating first. Cut down on certain things, back on others - I'm a believer in not cutting out 'bad' things, but greatly limiting them so that, if you do get around them, you don't overindulge because you've denied yourself (candy and sweets and 'junk' food is my thing). Once I get that in some form of control, I plan on incorporating working out and getting moving. I guess I'm worried that, with everything I have going on and my state of mind at the moment, if I do everything at once, I will set myself up for failure.
And I can't afford that.
So I plan on using this site to my full advantage!

Welcome back! I have the same motivation issue as you. So know that you are in good company! I used this site about 2 years ago and lost 25 pounds in roughly 3 months. The people in this group are wonderful and have a lot in common. You are not alone in your journey.

Hi - welcome back :-)

I guess that there have been a lot of changes since you were last here, because some of those changes have been the last couple weeks.

One thing that hasn't changed is the advice to make YOUR changes by using the baby steps method. This means only changing one or two things to start with and only when your mind/body has gotten used to those changes, add something else to the mix.

The other long-term piece of advice is to weigh all of your food for increased accuracy and enter it all into the nutrition tracker. Then you will have the power to tweak as and when you need to, to ensure that you stay within SP's ranges, which are actually quite generous.

If you have any questions, just ask. There is usually someone around so a response shouldn't be too far away.

Take care,
Kris

emoticon QUINZEL and emoticon to SparkPeople and the team...Nice to have you with us on the journey to a healthier lifestyle.

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.

Mistakes are the portals of discovery.

Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.

I'm horrible at starting introduction posts, I always seem so awkward.
Anywho..
I'm new(ish... used this site a few times in the past). 28, two kids, suffer from a multitude of different 'fun things'. I really need to kick my butt into gear, as I've reached the heaviest I've been in about 4 years, and close to being the heaviest ever. I don't want to reach that point. I have a multitude of things working against me, only one of which is my mental state, so I have to try to stay motivated. Force myself to stay motivated.
We shall see how it goes this time.
