Thanks for all the heartfelt welcomes! I am taking everyone's suggestions regarding finding time for myself. I believe that is something I have been missing in my life for such along time now seeing as though I am always doing for others. It is one of my goals for the week to find at least 15-30 minutes a day for ME. I hope to learn much from all of you, Thanks again!

Welcome to our Team, Becky. You will surely learn a lot and get much help and encouragement from the great people on our Team. Deb was absolutely right about the need to take good care of yourself. It's difficult with other people in the home who have needs that demand your time and attention most of the time. The responsibilities you've taken on are a gift to you children and their children. As they grow up, it will be less demanding and you will have quality time and experiences with them. Altho it might not always seem so, you are blessed to be in your children's life and it sounds like you also have the students who depend on you for your expertise. Somehow, you need to find time for yourself. You will find many suggestions and methods to do just that as you explore the SP site. Welcome to the family. emoticon

Hi Becky emoticon emoticon to the Sparkpeople and the Dealing with Depression Team! I can appreciate the challenges that you have with adult children living with their children in the home. I live with my single, working parent daughter and take care of her 3 year old autistic son. I don't have a full time job to add into the mix, so I know that you are very busy indeed.Be sure as you begin this journey that you schedule in some "me" time for your benefit. It is not selfish or self centered to do so. If you don't take care of you, then you can't take good care of them. Take your time getting to know the site and all there is here for you. Starting off slowly with baby steps is the recommended way to go, so that you do not become frustrated or overwhelmed by it all. Please post often. Staying in touch is the only way that we have of offering you the support and encouragement that you need to help reach your goals. We are really glad that you have decided to join us!! Take care and God bless, Deb

I am 45 years old and have been suffering from depression for the last 20 years. I have a 20 year old daughter with a 15 month old daughter who currently lives with us. I also have a 26 year old son with a 4 year old that is engaged to be married September 26, 2015. During the day I am an Instructor at a Technical College, training students in the healthcare field. When my day at school is done, the real fun begins taking care of everyone and everything else that life has to throw my way.

I would like to discover a healthy and happier me in the years to come. I want to grow old with my kids and grandkids and enjoy them to their fullest, not sit around and watch life pass me by!! emoticon
