Hey Everyone!!

I'm Kelsey I'm 22 years old and I've always been the Fat Girl. Two days ago I decided to Make a Lifestyle Change and not the D word (Diet) lol. I want to lose 100 pounds by April of next year! I know I can do it if I put my mind to it and get great support from friends, family and the SP community! I'm eating 5-6 small meals a day and working out in the morning for an hour before work and an hour after work every day! Message me if you would like I'm always down to help anyone out and to meet new friends!! [=

Hi everyone,

My name is Kelly. I'm a native Hawaiian girl who grew up in southern Texas. I joined Sparks last year around the 1st of October and then didn't come back until 6 Oct this year... I finally decided to get serious about getting in shape.

The biggest issue for me was tracking my food intake. Honestly, I was ashamed at what I was eating and I didn't really want to account for all the crap and junk food I was stuffing myself with.

I also smoked for 25 years and quit cold turkey in August last year. (that's a whole 'nother story)

So here I am, and in the 1st week of December I will be attending a 2 day instructor training course for Zumba. I'll be an overweight Zumba instructor, but hopefully not for long. I have been combing the 'net looking for motivational stories of overweight instructors and have found a few.

And lastly, I am an American living in Sweden. I'm in the land of fit, health conscious, blond and blue eyed beauties. Talk about feeling out of place! lol I'm the typical "Fat American" everyone talks about.

But not for long!

So hello and hope to hear from you. Have a splendid day and feel free to read my blog-just 'cause. emoticon

Kelly

Today is the day I succeed.

Hi everyone, I've been overweight for 5 yrs, tried on and off to take it off but no success. From 05-08, I used to do cardio for at least 1hr each day. What I didn't realize was that my eating habits had to change as well, I'd eat just one big meal at the end of the day, and that was it. My body would just guzzle up whatever I had consumed and fail to release it.
I realized my problem, but fell into the Soda drinking stage (started college), each time I've gained a significant amount of weight has been because of SODA drinking (all that sugar), I tried to quit several times in the past; went for too weeks without at the start of 2010, but the cravings monster was pursuing me, this was probably because i didn't change my eating habits. Tried on and off through out the year, And in the summer of 2011, decided to take it slow, cut back one at a time. I can happily say now, that I have been without for the past three weeks, and will continue without it. All that sugar just deceives ones body, so no more. emoticon

Hello all - I joined SparkPeople in January 2010 and did very well right out of the gate, loosing 90lbs by mid-year. Unfortunately I got in several ruts and did not keep taking the right paths with both exercise and nutrition and gained about thirty pounds back. Well I am ready to dig in and make better choices. With my renewed motivation, I decided to jump into some new groups much more suited to where I am - needing to lose a great deal of weight. So here I am, ready to go, and striving for changes for life. Looking forward to getting and giving support. As for my demographic items: I am 39yrs, have been married for 21 years, have two sons, and live in Missouri.

Hi Everyone,

I've been overweight now for 27 years. The first part of my life I was height/weight proportionate. The difficulty I have had is learning to manage stress, work and all of my responsibilities. I like to eat so naturally I found comfort in food and the pounds racked up. I am now in a size 30-32. I honestly never thought I would be here. I am committed to change and have begun an exercise regimen. I live in Nevada, I am married with two adult children and I work full time. I welcome the encouragement on this journey to improved health. I would like to be around for grandchildren someday, look better in my clothes and not be asked to buy an additional seat when on airplanes. I'm 51 now and would like to be down considerably before next year.

Hi everyone, my name is Neah and I am 28 from Portland Oregon. I just joined Sparkpeople and so far am really loving it. Especially all the information and tools. I have always been a little over weight, but after becoming extremely sick in 2006 and being placed on everything from steroids to chemo I gained a ton of weight (over 80lbs) And now that I am as healthy as I can be considering, it is time to get rid of the excess once and for all! emoticon

Hi everyone, I'm Lori, 44 yrs. old stay home mom of 2 great boys. I've been overweight since I think was about 10. I've been to WW like five times and the weight didn't stay off. Now after just having my third knee surgery - no replacements yet, but they are coming down the road - I need to take off the weight for good to buy me more time for my knees. My family deserves a healthier mom and wife too. No excuses this time.

Hi everyone

My name is Kristina and I've been on Sparkpeople since 2006. I'm back on the site because I need to get serious about losing weight again. My husband & daughter passed away in 08 when we were hit head on by a drunk driver. Ever since then my weight has gone through the roof. I have health conditions now due to the accident and I have been told by several of my doctors that once the weight comes off my health conditions will be easier to deal with.

I'm Amy, I have been with Spark since 2009. But haven't done anything until July this year after going to Dr. and hearing what I didn't what to hear...I got serious. I've lost 30 lbs thus far and have many more but I'm done! I'm done being fat, tired, grouchy, and just plain unhappy with myself. I have discovered my body and know it needs lots of love. I workout daily at YMCA. My kids are all in school and now it's time to focus on me. I'm trying to discover what I like about being healthy and active. And educating myself with truths not fads. I want a quick fix who doesn't but found it takes hard work perseverance and nothing but heart! I've found I'm at my best when I can support others and share life. So that's why I'm here to share life with y'all! emoticon

Hi there!

My name is Faith and I'm very happy to have found this group! I've been a member of spark for awhile (off and on for several years), but I think I've finally found the real drive in myself to do it this time.... and to do it for real! I just got married last month and I work a crazy job so finding time is difficult, but I'm doing it! I'm back to tracking my calories and I've resumed my workouts at the gym. It feels really good

Good luck to you all on your journey!!

Hello everyone! My names Ashley I'm 26 & a retail store manager for Goodwill in the Maryland area. I joined weightwatchers last week & just started Sparkpeople back up. I'm hoping this time around I'll have the motivation & brain power I need to drop the 100 pounds I'm looking to lose. I weighed myself in at 254 pounds when I started weightwatchers & I did my first week weigh in Sunday & came in at 244.7. I joined planet fitness yesterday & as long as work cooperates I'm hoping I can get my butt back into shape!

Good luck to everyone & I'm happy to be here! :)

Hi!

I'm Alisha. I have been the fat girl since I was 10 (I'm now 22). I haven't been smaller than a size 12 since I was 11 years old, and for awhile I was in that obese category. It sucks because I never had those fun teenage years where I could be skinny eatting like a teenager.

BUT! I have learned to eat healthy (when my family isn't cooking) and I've started to work out. When I graduated highschool I couldn't run a mile. Now I can comfortably run 3-4 miles.

So far I have been changing my lifestyle alone. My boyfriend is active, but he has always been athletic, so it is hard for him to understand my disordered eatting. I am very excited to learn and share with women like myself who are becoming powerful, strong, and confident.

Hello everyone! My name is Stephanie. I was part of the Done Girl team several months ago, but life kind of got in the way, and I had to leave for awhile. I'm back to stay now, and I look forward to reconnecting with some of my older friends here, plus the new Done Girls that have joined.

A little about me ... I'm 41 years old. I've been married almost eighteen years to my best friend, and we have two boys (ages 14 and 10). I'm a full-time author, and I have 150 pounds to lose, so I have a very long road ahead of me, but I'm ready. I hope you'll consider adding me as a friend, so we can help support each other!

Well I don't know that I actually qualify as a "Fat Girl" because I'm about to turn 54 in just a couple weeks so "Fat Old Woman" would be more like it. But I still think of myself as a girl and I'm most definitely fat so I thought I'd check out "Done being the fat girl." I was enticed by the name because I just said to my husband that I hate having my picture taken with "the girls" because I'm always the biggest, fat-est amongst the group of 8 to 10 of us that hang together. Its depressing and destressing to see yourself stand out so LARGE in group photos.

So, on what will now be my FOURTH time coming back to SparkPeople I've got to find some motivation, know-how and support. I've made a promise to myself to not try to go full speed ahead but to give myself some credit for each small accomplishment and hope for the best.

Hoping to share the journey with all of you.
Debby

Hi Gals,
I'm Mo, I just turned 23 and I have about 30lbs to lose - I was really shy and insecure about it all through highschool and university, and now I'm in my 20s and haven't even owned a bathing suit in over 5 years! I realized that I've been missing out on trips with friends because I don't want to hang out on the beach in a swimsuit with my fit friends or anything like that. Also, I'm 23 and I've never really dated and that's kind of ridiculous - I want to take care of myself and feel comfortable in my skin! Now that I'm finally finished school and have the job I really wanted I feel like I have the freedom to work on the rest of myself, and I really want to succeed!

I just joined a gym near my new apartment yesterday and after my orientation went on the elliptical for about 40 minutes and it felt amazing! I can't wait to find out what I can do. I'm hoping to achieve my goals by May 2012 so I can spend a summer feeling comfortable in shorts, skirts and sleeveless tops and not be sweating it out in cropped pants and cardigans because I didn't want to show my pudgy pale bits. (Does anyone else do this!? Doesn't it make summer UNBEARABLE!?)

So so so so so so DONE!

Hi my name is Heidi Smith and I am really really DONE being a FAT GIRL! I am married but I am so insecure about what I look like. I want my husband to be proud to "show me off" I know that sounds so bad but it really is the truth. I live in Southern California where I feel like if you are 125lbs you are still considered fat. I am tired of having a flat tire around my belly. I am a mom of 2 beautiful little girls and one wonderful baby boy. 4,3 and 2 are their ages. I don't want my kids to grow up with the same issues I have. I have always been the fat girl. I really need some support though my hubby is great but a really really bad influence on me. :) (although part of wha tI love about him) anyways that me! my twisted self

Hey everyone! Thanks for inviting me to the team! My name is Ashley. I'm 26 years old. I need to lose a lot of weight. I'm aiming for short goals, 10lbs at a time. I'm a nursing supervisor. I generally work nights but i have to work 1 day shift every other week so I stay confused with my sleep schedule. I'm not new to spark, this is probably my 3rd time around. I've had some success and some bombs (i blew it!) I've been through a lot the past year with health issues, work and a leadership program that was like going back to school all over again. I stay very busy so I'm learning to develop healthy eating habits to fit an on the go flip-flop schedule and finding anyway I can to get exercise in! I love the done girl dance :) that's my new get up and go! I'm so excited to be here. I need all the help and suggestions I can get. I'm here to offer encouragement as well! Best wishes everyone! And thank you!

Hey y'all! I'm Kelly from Austin, Texas. And I am DONE being the fat girl! All my life, I have been bigger than every single one of my friends. There has literally never been a time that I haven't been gaining weight. I'm almost 26 now, and I'm realizing...do I want to be like this forever until the day I die? HECK NO!

I weighed myself yesterday for the first time since starting this process a week ago, and I've lost a pound! LOST! It's amazing, and I'm ready to take this all the way!

Hello everyone. I'm Karen and I'm an English girl living in Spain. I haven't always been fat. Until my 20's I weighed at the most 121 pounds BUT I was always made to feel as if I were fat. I have photos of me at this weight on the beach FULLY DRESSED because I felt I was to fat to take my clothes off. Then I proved everyone right by becoming what they said I was and topped the scales at 253 pounds. That was 6 weeks ago. I now weigh 223 pounds because I am DONE with being the fat girl and even though I never want to weigh 120 again I will never feel fat again because I'll be thinner than I was and thinner than I am now.

If you want be a butterfly then you you have to want to fly so badly that you are prepared to give up being a caterpillar.

Hello everyone! I am new to this team and just wanted to stop by and say hello. I've been on Sparkpeople for almost three months now. I've lost a little over 18 lbs so far.

I would like to say too how awesome this team is! I have had a lot of people welcome me to the team on my Sparkpage. I am so glad I found this team! Thank you so much for making me feel welcome and being so nice. :)

Hey everybody! I'm Kelley. I'm 26 and I've been fat for as long as I can remember and I am DONE! D-O-N-E! I lost the weight once before, but this time I'm going to do it the right way! My goal is to go from 315 to 150 and to -never- say the word "diet" again! :)

Wow, Livingfree! You were right about this place being active! Loving that! emoticon

Hi all. I'm Jacqueline, a mother of 2 teenaged boys from Long Island. I plan to be 156 pounds by Dec. 21, 2012 and I need to lose 2 pounds a week to do that, so I'll be looking to learn from the most consistent, dedicated losers. I am physically challenged but trying to work around (or bust through) that.

Hi girls! I'm Vicky and I'm so done being the fat girl. I joined a while ago, but I got out of the habit of writing things down until 2 weeks ago. I'm looking to lose 75lbs and drop my fat ass once and for all :)

Hi Everyone!

I meant to introduce myself yesterday but then got distracted! I'm so totally done being the Fat Girl, even if I have a ways to go.

No more accepting less than I deserve, whether that is a 'type of man' a career, a salary, treatment in a store..yup I'm done. Starting now, I am who I am and I deserve to be treated like the person I am not the shape on the shadow :)

I'm currently 42, my only child moved out and it's time for me to be me and find me, and treat me first :)

Thanks for all the welcome emails and messages!
