I'm retired now but can definitely relate to not knowing when to sleep, etc. Did it for 23 1/2 years. I too preferred night shift or at least afternoon shifts. Some of the things we did to stay awake over years could be very interesting. I remember trying to stay awake but only using 10-code for the conversation.

Hello everyone!

I can pop on, for the most part, once a day. When things get busy it might be every two days. I work odd hours, as I'm sure most of you can relate to, but normally there is time. Just a little about myself, I work with 911 and Police dispatch for my county which covers two police forces integrated and dispatched by the same people, moi and my team. We work twelve hour shifts of two days, two nights and then four off. Graveyard shift is my favourite and is probably the hardest on the body. Because of this kind of job my body never knows when to sleep and when to be awake, I drink way too many energy drinks, and consume my share of chocolate wake-me-up-now! Though I've discovered a robbery or home invasion call will pretty much do the same trick to wake me up but it's so hard to coordinate those. In my home life, I hang out with friends, I write books and am, in a healthy way, addicted to Sims. I want to get into running and do more things outside. I had been sick and pretty much stuck sitting down for a year but under the right medications I am better and able to move again. So that's all I can think of to share about myself, any questions, ask. I'm excited to work with this team and DAWNOPFER!

Cheers everyone!

The more the merrier. I'm not online every day and sometimes not for a week at a time but love it when there is activity in this forum.
