Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm a dispatcher for Tuscarawas County in Ohio. We dispatch EMS/Fire, Sheriff, and several PDs. I've got my B.A. in Psych, and I actually make more at this job than I did any previous, utilizing my degree. I think I'm one of the rare employees who actually enjoys work =)

Welcome - you will get tons of support here. Where is work for you? I have dispatched for almost 10 yrs - I love it but sometimes I wonder what it would be like to do something different.
Good luck

Just joined this group and thought I'd introduce myself here too! My name's Amanda, I'm 26yo, married and have a 7yo stepson. I've worked at 911 for 9 months now, and I love it! After meeting my co-workers, and being told about "911 ass" I was determined not to get it. I actually went from 181lb down to 161 in my first 3 months there! I've crept back up a few lbs, but I'm bound and determined to get thin and healthy! Excited that I found this group!

Welcome to the list. You will find great support here. :)

I was wondering if you have seen your family doctor or an endrocinologist. You seem to be gaining wait very fast. I had the same issue and I ended up being diagnosed with PCOS. Now that I am on medication I am able to lose weight. If you keep gaining you might want to get checked.

Hi, My name is Alexis (22yof) and I work at a PSAP in Florida. I am also a part time student. Over the past 6 months I have gained more weight than I would like (40lbs). I've been eating low calorie/fat foods, exercising, and not eating out. Overall I think that I have made good changes, in an effort to loose weight, but it seems to be back firing (I continue to gain about 2lbs a week). I work 12hr shifts at the PSAP, however due to the fact that we are understaffed I have been working a lot of overtime on my days off. So it has been difficult for me to find time or energy to exercise as much as I could. I would appreciate any help that you could offer.

Thanks,
Alexis
