Thank you for answering my question. I don't know why but I thought SB restricted carbs
to about 50. Ok, that helps me.
I see now the refried beans I ate for breakfast yesterday did not make me gain.
So, my first day I dropped 3 # of water....whew! that is good to know that I am not carrying
around all that fluid.

There is no phase or carb limit, with this group. Some can lose on more carbs per day than others. With diabetes, I try to stay within 75 carbs a day. I like to take 1/4 cup of well washed canned beans to a salad. It's carbs but also protein. You just have to find out what works for you.

Hi everyone,
I use to be a member here, but left to join the keto group. My body did not handle
all those fats very well.
I lost before on South Beach and I feel comfortable with this plan. I know it will work.

I have a question for anyone that cares to answer:

there are a lot of carbs in a half cup of beans allowed now (I read on a forum).
I thought 20 carbs were the limit for phase 1, but those beans use of a lot for the day.

emoticon Living in an RV does have it's challenges. My husband and I spent 2 months traveling the USA in a trailer. The frig was not large and not a lot of space for a pantry. We spent many a night in the Walmart parking lot and shopped there before hitting the road. I loved stopping at the roadside stands and getting fresh fruits and veggies. Not always low carb, but very tasty..

Potted biography: 62yo Aussie woman living permanently in motorhome with husband wandering Australia; hobbies are mostly seated - knitting, crochet, drinking wine, motorsport official, radio club secretary, internet games such as euchre and Texas hold'em, writing very short fiction. Being a redhead, sunshine and I are not friends.
168cm, currently 85.2kg and aiming eventually for 74kg because any less makes me look gaunt and my wrinkles have wrinkles.
The low carb healthy fat way of eating seems logical to me; it is backed by science as well as anecdotal evidence and is permanently sustainable as well as relatively inexpensive.
After a total blow-out in my eating habits on a fortnight's cruise, I am embarking today on the DietDoctor two-week low carb challenge.
My short-term goal is to be under 80kg before Thursday 20th April 2017, exactly two months away.
