Hi all - looking for an active team that compares foods, results, what's working, what's not.
I'm 57 & although not obese (yet) I'm trying to bring the pounds back down to a happier place. Sitting all day at work isn't helping, so I'm reducing my carbs & trying to stay in at a little bit of a calorie deficit at the same time.
I went really low on my carbs the first 4 days, but then decided that might not be right for me - not because I was really missing foods - just feeling like it might not be the healthiest balance for me. Now actually, I found it hard to increase carbs. (I brought a SMALL apple in my lunch today - that ought to fix that - LOL) But I also added more veggies to my salad for lunch.
Anyway - as per expectations set - I lost about 4 lbs of water & here I sit.
I have a couple of non-life threatening physical impediments that are interfering with exercise - a foot problem where I can't do "extensive" walking, and now a newer shoulder issue that has flared up recently. I'm mostly doing water aerobics - just bumped it up to 3 times a week - 7 a.m. class - kind of proud I'm actually making it!! (CRAZY because I am NOT a morning person at all)
Hope to get to know some of you all & we can all work towards our goals and encourage each other. Keep reading things that say "this isn't about weight loss - it's a lifestyle". Ok if I'm not going to lose weight it could be an issue for me - lol/whine.
Laters all,
Jennifer//Texas
