thanks Mrs. L. !
I know when I am training for 1/2 marathon/full one or doing any kind big time exercise I eat about double what is on the weight loss plan. It is necessary I think . So more brown rice etc.

I think the program is good to get us eating more of the veggies and retrain taste buds.

not carrot sticks lol- yup I feel ya

Letsgoplay: You aren't a jerk. You are right about reducing to 1/3 of the plate startch for maximum weight loss. This is similar, I believe to McDougalls Maximum weight loss. I'm sure it works and I know I'd do it if I were in a serious health bind. I said I'm not the best to answer as I have not done the 1/3 of a plate starch thing because for me,--although I eat healthfully. I know I'd be hungry (and unfortunately, not for carrot sticks, haha). For me, I try to do my best overall, but I know that this has to be sustainable for me or it will likely cause a great jump off a cliff to unhealthy eating.

I say this not to a naysayer, I'm not! Just full disclosure.

I do find that the more I live this way, the less I crave things I know I shouldn't eat. The more I exercise, the more exercise I want to do.

Mrs. L- I think you are qualified! You eat plant based and very healthy. Of course- you know grains are limited on the aggressive so they have to be measured out and if doing that then would be 1/3 at each meal/ - I am sorry if I sound like a jerk- it is interesting as I think it might be good to pay attention to grains not crowding out freggies BUT I find grains and esp brown rice are good on my well...system! emoticon

I'm reviewing Hello Nutritarian site and Cheri's vlogs about 10 in 20. I can't afford to pay for a program but if you go through her blogs it is free and helpful.

Having said all that though we are up for a pantry challenge to save money and get through some things as Summer goes by.. so creativity will be key.

Consistency is the main thing though!

The biggest takeaway from Dr. Furhman is to start your meals with a big salad and/or low fat vegetable soup of some kind. This satiates you so that you don't overeat other things. More importantly, you are eating a high fiber diet that helps your digestion.

I may not be the best person to answer how I eat , but here goes:

Breakfast was oatmeal cooked with water, peaches and banannas. Cinnamon and vanilla instead of any sweetener.

Lunch is a bowl of hot and sour soup, veggie fajitas (carrots, onions, cauliflower, brocolli) with rice and refried beans

Dinner will be: Vegetable Dal over brown rice. I throw lettuce, celery and cucumbers on top. The dinner is so tasty that no dressing is necessary. I had some kale to use up so added that to the recipe. I've posted the recipe for the dal here:

Have you read the Hello Nutritarian Blog?
hellonutritarian.com/nutritarian/

I found I had to make my salads smaller and get seconds if I wanted because I was throwing away greens- if for example I had put anything wet/fat such as avocado or dressing of some kind. Sometimes I would put it in fridge for later but it was often to yucky.

Anyway- I too am diving in again- I was eating off plan foods but am wanting to do aggressive plan Aug. 1 start.

Although Dr. Fuhrman does not talk about exercise I find walking or whatever thing you like to do helps- actually with digestion!

Hello all.
Looking for support and guidance from those who are experienced in the Nutritarian life.
I have been searching for an active E2L forum for a couple of days and finally found this!
I keep meaning to find a good way to live my life around food- as it was a past struggle- Dr Fuhrman's plan seems realistic and I feel inspired to do the 6 week aggressive weight loss plan!
Day 5 coming up now and I honestly haven't been able to eat everything he suggests. Also, it's confusing that the recipes are for more than one serving.
I'm usually too full from lunch to eat dinner... any helpful comments or sympathy welcome!
