Tomorrow is October 1st... Wow!! Where is the time going? I have been here almost 5 months. Hard to believe.
The trip to Victoria was beautiful yesterday. The colors are changing on some of the trees. Of course I had to keep my eyes on the road as there was a lot of traffic. That sucks sometimes being the driver cause you miss out on a lot of the sights. The granddaughter is adapting to the college life, but she misses home too.
Today was kind of a recoup day for me. I slightly hurt my lower back and so I didnít do my full workout this evening. Taking things easy for a wee bit.
How are the peeps doiní ?

hugs

Hi Lori.. missed you girl.. You are one busy lady, I see.. I donít know how you do it. I would have trouble keeping that schedule.
I am still plugging along. I think I have gained a little so I am doing some self kicking in the patushka!! I definitely have to nip it in the bud because there is no way I will go back to where I was before. Absolutely no way!!!
I have a day trip in the planning for this Sunday. My daughter and I are going to Victoria to see the GD. It is about a 3 1/2hr drive from here so it will be a long day. I wish we could stay over night but thatís not doable right now.
Anyways dear Sparkies keep the faith and continue on in your journey.
Hugs to all...

Good morning ladies. I see at least 2 of you are both plugging along. I truly admire you both. I've been having a pretty hard go of it. I'm so off track it's not even funny. I have left the old job and I started the new one which came with more hours that they originally stated so I'm left with a lot less time in my day and when I am up I am struggling to wake up with energy. It was supposed to be a 11-5 most days maxing out at 30 hours a week but now I'm working 40 hours working Sunday to Thursday 11 to 7 am. By the time I get home and settle down and get to sleep I'm pushing 9 am so I'm sleeping till about 230. When I get up it takes me so long to shrug of the sleepies there isn't much time for anything else. I pick the girl up from school, hubby from work, come home and cook supper and tidy up its time to go back to work. I don't mind the back shift at all but the extra 10 hours are killing me right now. Over the summer it was an adjustment as I had 4 weeks of vacation so I only worked 2 weeks with a week off and only work 30- 34 hours but with the students back its a full time job... Well full time hours I should say. I'm left wondering if this is a job I want to stick with or should I give it all up and start over. I know winners is hiring. I would have to work weekends and at least 1 night a week and I would most likely only get 2 weeks vacation. Ugh!!! One of the struggles with back shift is my eating schedule. I'm all over the place which has added a good 10-15 pounds back on so yup.. You guessed it!! I'm back where I started and then some!! Why can't I just win the lotto!!! Ha ha

So enough about my sucky situation.... How are you gals doing??
I miss everyone!! I miss having time to take of me and checking in with you ladies. Hugs. Xo

Thanks Jo.. I do miss them.. Where are they?
You are going to have some hot weather at home... Wow!!! Enjoy it girl, while it lasts... Get out and enjoy the sunshine.
We are expecting some rain this weekend. I am hoping itís not too heavy. I will still walk in it though. Marty doesnít like the rain though, but he will go. Funny he likes to swim but not the rain. Strange lad... lol..
Happy weekend....

The start of another week is always hope filled. :-)

Although Sunday evenings are still a little hard, it isn't as difficult to get going and get stuff done. I can't say the same about DogFace, though. He still sulks for a full day after she's left.

That crash outside Port Alberni! OMG!! that is so sad for the parents. I read the article, and I'm wondering why they travelled at night as well.

And financial life might not be as bad as we thought it would be during Wifey's last year of college. I have 2 more pays to pay off my purchase of service from before I was permanent at gov't. When that's done, there's an extra $400 that I'll be able to use. And because we're trying to cut back everywhere, we've also decided to hold off putting more RRSP money away until next June, when she graduates. That's another $300/mo. Here's hoping we can keep the power & phone bills paid up over the winter.

Once October rolls around, I will hopefully be able to start swimming for cardio. I'm going to check out the pool schedule, and see when times are good for me to go.

The days are getting shorter. Daylight that is...
I am still plugging along and hope all you Sparkies are taking care of yourselves out there.
Feeling sad over the two students that passed away in the bus crash here... so sad for the parents....

I forgot to mention about Dorian! Fredericton faired VERY well -- we didn't even get a brown out once, and all our trees are still upright. However, the closer Wifey got to Moncton (for her LAST year of college), she said some places looked like a war zone. Champlain Mall is the big shopping center in Moncton, and apparently the power line to the mall runs close to 3kms, and affects no less than 200 businesses. Street lights were out, and she said it was an eerie feeling.

Ok, back to work now. :-)

I think I fell off the face of the planet last week while on vacation. :-)

We went to PEI for the Acadian Festival just north of Summerside, and we had a great time! Salt water air is so good for the soul.

As for Dad... he's out of the hospital, and not "bad" enough to go to a nursing home. My sister is devastated, but she has a plan. We're pretty sure Dad lied or didn't offer all the info that he should have, so the evaluators didn't have enough to have him sent to a home. Since he wants his independence so badly, my sister has handed all his financial dealings back to him, and picked up his last prescription at Walmart. She's done. She is going to do as much for Dad as she does for Mom, and that's not a lot. On the flip side, the evaluators are coming to his place once a week for reality checks. If they even catch one big sniff of how "poopy" his apartment smells, he won't last long at the apartment alone.

As for work, the drama continues. *sigh* One of the employees from another branch is being moved over to our group to backfill a position. Unfortunately, he's not a good employee. He's bilingual, and is still a casual after 14 years of employment with GNB. And he's coming to our team. I'm not even going to think about it until next week.

Back to school, back to work, back to basics. Any big plans this month? We've still got 10 days of summer, so I'm not calling it autumn yet. ;-)

Spark it hard!
