Beautiful sunny day here today. Marty and I will soon be going out for our walk but I just thought I should check in with you peeps.
I hope you are having an awesome day.
October is almost over and soon I will have been here for six months. Wow! Time does fly. It was this time last year that I was packing up my house getting it ready to sell. It has been quite the journey! I still miss home and my house but I am adapting to BC life now. Gradually! I have a couple of fav spots I go to here and will eventually do more exploring. Once I get braver....
Tomorrow is Halloween already. All of the little goblins will be out. I am supposed to be handing out the treats here. That should test me a wee bit as far as resisting the goodies..... I think I can handle it though...
Well my dear peeps keep on Sparking.....
Hugs...

Hey Peeps!

Oh, this has been a crazy month for sure, and it's not done!

Thanksgiving weekend was a blur, but I did manage to get a turkey supper in. That was also the Lossiversary weekend. Wifey worked on assignments all weekend, and I suppose this will be the norm on the weekends until she's finally home for good.

Last Thursday, I got to see one of the largest cruise ships that Carnival made -- several agents got a ship tour. All I gotta say is if you think you might get seasick, it's VERY unlikely unless you're super-sensitive. It was HUGE!!! the main part of the ship felt like a mall. It was SO cool! Glenda & Lori, you're extra lucky because you're closer to the ship terminals and wouldn't need flights. And this past weekend, we had a Travel Showcase, and I got my first booking!! OMG!! I'm so excited!! Commission isn't a lot, but the more I sell, the higher my commission becomes. I also had a long self-talk about the business, and I am now ready to put in a little time every evening. It's encouraging, for sure!

As for food, the last 2 weeks have been a mess. Mini chocolate bars for supper. Really JoJo?! Water seems to be good most of the time, and I'm getting a little more sleep. Supper is the worst, especially when I don't have a plan. So, yeah, planning is what I need to do, then stick to the plan.

Gotta run! NB'ers don't like to wait! :-D

Jo

I hope you all enjoyed Thanksgiving. I had a wonderful one with all the grandchildren. It is really nice to be with them. I have missed a lot in the four years that they have been out here.
I got to celebrate my birthday this year out here as well. I also managed to win a couple of tickets to see Jimmy Rankin in concert here on my birthday. My daughter joined me for that. It was nice to see a fellow Nova Scotian and to chat a bit with him afterwards.
Lori I bet you will be glad when things settle down a bit for you. Miss you my friend.

Jo, how are things going with you these days?

Well I gotta go for now... Take care Sparkies.

Hugs..

Happy Thanksgiving peeps. My life as you know it is busier than usual my brother and his wife have decided to join their daughter and grandchildren and will be moving to Vanuatu in the new year. My sil will leave in February and my brother will leave as soon as he gets things wrap up from selling the things that they own. So with our free labour leaving the crunch is on to get our remaining work done which is our back deck. Thankfully my mom did thanksgiving this year so it enable us to stay it late in the day yesterday so we got a good portion of it done. I am back to trying to cut down on the breads treats and pop. I was a good girl yesterday. I didn't overeat and only had the smallest piece of my mothers homemade lemon meringue pie... I couldn't say no to that as she only makes it twice a year. Lol
Work seems to be settling down a little. I had a chat with the girls and they are going to cut back a little on the hours and I think now that I have all the recipes memorized it will be much easier to get the work done so once the new production planner gets done I go home... No more making extras!!! That will help a lot.
Well I'm off to spend the day with my girl.... Hubby has to work.
Happy Thanksgiving. emoticon

Yes, Happy Thanksgiving Day to all.
I could have sought out meal invitations, but I decided on a simple, reflective time today.

I want to wish all you Sparkies out there a “Happy Thanksgiving Weekend”... Enjoy the feast but watch the munchie beast.... Those cals will quickly add up...
I will have to watch the pumpkin pie... My major weakness. I am so happy and thankful to be spending this Thanksgiving with my daughter and grandchildren. It has been over five years for this.
Counting my blessings.
Hugs... emoticon

Still taking it one day at a time, hopefully like you too.

Life has been flying by faster than I can watch it go by. At work, our strongest team member is on vacation for 2 weeks, and everyone who's left is coming to me for help. I'm not used to being bombarded. ;-) I think I will call EAP tonight, and ask them how to handle those situations without the anxiety levels spiking.

We've started decorating for Halloween in the office. I brought in GR -- a 8ft blowup of the Grim Reaper, and he's taller than our ceiling.

And Sunday night, DogFace got skunk-sprayed. It was too late to do anything, so he slept in the kitchen. Next day, I picked up Skout's Honor. That stuff is AWESOME!!!! It neutralizes the odor on contact, including carpets and dog toys.

And the Lossiversary is Saturday.

Jo, I like some pumpkin spice things in small doses. I couldn’t eat/drink them all the time. Having said that pumpkin pie is my absolute favorite pie.
Oh yes the trees are so much bigger here and the colors are starting to pop. Beautiful!
I love this month’s topic title. emoticon
I am reading a book by Tim Conway on his life. It is quite funny really. I loved him and Harvey Korman on The Carol Burnett show.
Well Happy October Sparkies... Let’s Spark into fall.
Hugs...

Ok, so my titles aren't always original or without puns.

Lori, have you thought about going to Costco for a job? From what I hear, the floor staff are very well treated, pay is pretty good and health insurance & vacation are available. It's hard to adjust when you have several things going against you. Another suggestion about sleep.... try power naps throughout the day. 5-10 min naps here & there will help. As for the food.... I could never do the back shift without side effects.

Glenda, I miss Van Island in the fall. It's really pretty out this way, but the trees are SO MUCH bigger there! And you won't go back to where you were, because you grew as a PERSON, and that will keep you on your toes. :-)

As for me, I offered my voice-over services to HR, who are putting out training videos. They wanted a real voice instead of a computer-generated one, and I can record the text in both languages. It's fun, it's only a couple hours a day until I'm done, but there may be an option of a short transfer, like a month or 2, to record more of them in a larger batch.

And the travel consultant biz is coming along, a little at a time. I have a few meetings with customers this week, so I'm excited.

Do you like Pumpkin Spiced foods? Me? no. I like it, but I don't love it.

Jo
