I had an awesome Xmas. I hope you all had a wonderful one.
The New Year is closing in fast. May it bring goodness and well being to us all.
For the most part I did stay true to myself except for the occasional treat. I found that I really wasnít all that excited by the goodies. I however did endulge in dressing with my turkey and of course the cranberry sauce.
Well my friends I am looking forward to 2020 and doing some exploring on this beautiful Island.
Wishing you all The Very Best in your endeavours in the New Year..
Hugs..

Well itís December 18th here. Time is flying by.. I have enjoyed seeing some Xmas concerts this year. (Another one tomorrow evening). I would have missed all of this if I was still back home. The kids are just so darn cute!
Xmas is only days away now. Imagine! I will really have to watch myself out here. They love to eat.... I think I can handle it though. Water is going to be my friend... Lots and lots of water... lol...
How are you peeps planning on staying on the straight and narrow? Or not getting too carried away with all the goodies... What is your strategy?
Well I gotta run for now. Early day tomorrow.
Have a good night and an even better tomorrow...
Hugs...

Holy Cannolli! Where did the last weeks go?!

Hummingbirds in December... I miss that. Yes, if the temps don't dip too often, they will stay around for the season too.

I am so not ready for next week. Work is nuts, and of course, cashflow is low. Just one more Christmas and Wifey will be working. I do have the 2 weeks off, though... a very welcome break!

Jo

Thanks Jo. Yes there were some memories doing the tree and a few leaks too. If I was back in NS I wouldnít have put one up, not just for myself, but the grandkids were looking forward to me having one. I am such a succour for them....
You are one busy lady, you and the wifey. I am happy for you both.

The weather is a little dampish feeling today. I donít mind though. This Ďol NS body can handle that no problem. ... lol... Grew up on the East Coast, that was the norm.....

I still have a hummingbird coming to the feeder here. What gives? Do they stay all winter here?
I am fascinated by all the wildlife here in town.

Anyways I must run for now. I have to get some more steps in, before I call it a day.

Jo I like your little rhyme at the bottom of your post... Makes me want to dance to it.... lol...

Hugs....

Glenda, I know exactly what you mean about the tree. The first year, I put one up, but after that, the tree wasn't as important. We rarely get visitors to the house, so it's always a challenge to want to keep the house clean, let alone decorate. I hope the tree brings you some joy and happy memories, even if they leak out from your eyes.

Another storm blew through. I live just enough up in the mountain that I got mostly snow, while the city, closer to the Saint John River, got more hail and freezing rain than snow. Plows and sand trucks are busy today. I worked from home yesterday, it just wasn't worth trying to come in.

So, I might be going to Social Development again, for another secondment (temporary transfer). I will know for sure Thursday afternoon, but from everything I've seen and heard, I'll be going in the New Year. I'm excited, but I'm keeping it on the low until I have the contract in hand.

There's another Christmas market coming up Saturday, and this time, it's at the francophone community center. I'm still working on my French terminology for cruises and vacations, but I know I'll have it down pat by the end of the market.

Wifey's super-busy time of year is here, when she's madly studying for her exams. She starts next Thursday, and goes for a whole week the following week. I am just so proud of her.

Spark it to the left,
Spark it to the right,
Spark it ALL THE TIME!

Busy times.. This year I put up a small tree. Itís the first in over four years. When my hubby passed I just didnít feel in the mood for Xmas. This year being with the grandkids has sparked some renewed Xmas spirit. My gift shopping is slowly getting there.
Last evening I watched Kraus with the fam. Thatís what makes being here special. The time spent with them.
I am a wee bit tired this evening so I think I will retire to my nest for now.
Hope you Sparkies are kickiní it
Hugs...

Well, as I sit here and contemplate the 3rd Kirkland cookie I've had and figure it's time to put the rest away for the night, I look around at the 4-legged souls in the house and feel grateful to have them here with me.

@GLENDA2017 mentioned Christmas shopping... I have gift cards being purchased with every grocery run. How about you? And if it's a big source of stress, share it here. Sometimes seeing it on the screen helps put everything in perspective.

@INSH8P , it's always a pleasure to hear from you. Is the production you're putting on this year in the school?

@GINGYCAT40, I haven't heard from you in a while. Girl, I totally get busy, and I'd be happy with a little "Hi! I'm still here! Barely above water, but here!"

@NEWFIEGIRLHERE, did the renos get all done before the labour force had to leave?

@SMUISE, has the Rock swallowed you up yet? Hope you're doing ok, I miss hearing from you.

I know I missed some, so if I have forgotten your name, please say so here. :-) (sneaky, eh?)

Santa, I like December.... just not on my hips.

Sparkly,

Jo
