Made it through another week! I have to say, this one was easier because it was March break here so I only had to get two lunches ready and no after school pickups this week.

I had been feeling like Iíd hit a bit of a plateau and adjusting my calories and cardio intensity seemed to break through that this week. I think Iím just impatient, not because the work will be over (I plan to continue doing the exact same thing) but Iím starting to think about a Ďrewardí of some sort.

Currently sitting on the sofa relaxing with my iced coffee before making my favourite breakfast in the world. Silver hills bread topped with avocado and 2 eggs. As I sip, Iím going through the Looneyspoons Collection cookbook and looking for something new to try (love this book).

Hope everyone had a great week! Enjoy your weekend!

Good morning peeps.

Jo jo sorry to hear about you kitty cat. Poor thing. She's lucky she has 2 people who take such good care of their animals.
...and a week off... Wow!! Enjoy every minute. Hopefully the weather is nice for you.

And Faith I think we all can blame work for our stress.. Seems like we all have it in one form or another. I'm very luck though cause I know with this new job the stress will be very minimal, if any at all. I think I lucked out.

So I'm feeling better. This weekend I really took it easy to get the last of the meds a good run. I'm finished them all and I must say yesterday is really when I noticed the biggest difference. I still have a little sinus congestion in the morning but by noon it usually clears out.

So today is my real new beginning of it all. My goal is to get my water in and do my 5 km workout video 3 times a week.....today is done. Next week I'm thinking I will head back to Aqua Zumba. I'll see how quickly this sinus pressure moves out. I can still feel a bit of pressure in my ears so getting in the water is not the best idea yet but I'm itching to get back. But for now I'm happy to be back on the road to a healthier life.... Yet again.

Well got to get cleaned up and get to work. Have a great day ladies.

Ohmygosh...good luck with your cat! We had such a hard time giving any type of pill to ours and I canít imagine the squirt of water!!

Hope your work environment improves soon. I blame my own work situation over the last couple of years for a lot of my stress eating and weight gain. I should have managed it differently, but I didnít. Stress wreaks so much havoc!!

Sheets drying on the line.... *sigh* I miss that, regardless of the season.

It turns out people aren't the only one with pulmonary issues this winter. Our oldest cat, Ms. Scaredy Cat (Sunshine) has a hiatal hernia at her diaphragm, and she occasionally aspires her own saliva during an attack. It's been happening long enough that she now has pneumonia -- blood work showed her white blood cell count was extremely high. So she's on antibiotics, and the vet wants us to squirt a bit of water once she takes the pill. Really? I can't catch her on a good day. At least Wifey will be home during NB's March Break, and she can help with that.

OMG, the snow!

The work environment just got a lot more toxic. I had a brain fart yesterday, which left us without coverage for an hour. One of the other analysts is spitting out that she's going to push for cancelling all flex time for our team. *sigh* We have a meeting at 11, and it's going to be explosive.

So I'm going to eat my clementines and have my morning shake, and keep my head down. I can't wait for 3:45 today, I'm off next week.

Breathe in slow, breathe out slow....

Good afternoon ladies. Just taking a lunch break from my at home training. Boy I'll be glad when it's over. I have been in the stores for two weeks now and am pretty confident about what I have done. The training on the tablet for some reason is getting to me. Trying to visually see on a 9x12 screen instead of doing in a 4x6 section.. Not at all the same. Only 2 more modules and I'm done. I will have to go back over a few things as I didn't get the hands on trying in the store, which is how I learn the quickest.
So I haven't completely gotten into my grove yet. I went to the Dr last week as I discovered while reading a previous text that I had actually been unwell for 4 weeks. I did have 2 times where I thought I was getting better and it swung back around. I have a sinus infection, infections in both my ears and a start of a chest infection. I'm on antibiotics, nasal spray and a puffer for the nighttime which is when I find my breathing the tightest.
Once I get this gone I will start my at home videos and morning walks. I can't wait. Today is a sunny warm day, perfect for walking but after the bit of time I spent shopping yesterday I've decided to save my energy for work tomorrow. It will come I just have to be patient. On the plus side my sheets are washing and drying on the line. I'll look forward to my sleep tonight.
Hope everyone is doing well.

Hey Peeps!

I'm in for a few minutes, while I wait for the animal hospital to open. DogFace is wheezing and not quite coughing it up, and I think he accidentally aspired peanut butter. He's eating but he's refusing harder foods -- he wants foods that will slide down easy. As soon as I get the appointment time, I'm taking the rest of the day off (as a family day, they don't need to know it's the furry kid who's not well.) I'll probably work from home afterwards.

Work is still crazy, and I'm learning to deal with it better. I really need to learn to not stress over things I cannot control. The OT is helping to cut down on some of the anxiety I experience when I see over 300 tickets unassigned. One of the colleagues put a sign up, with a picture of an elephant marked out like a pic of a cow or pig for meat cutting. Under it, she has "How do you eat an elephant? One Byte at at time." In each of the cutting sections is an activity that our team does. It was a comic relief moment, but also a great reminder that we have to take things one at a time.

Ok, back to new accounts and my morning shake.

It's a little foggy out there. Oh look! There's the Spark!

So, it's been 4 days I've been trying to get in here for 5 mins just say hi.

Hi!

Work is insane, and it got worse. We are more than 5 business days from being able to open a ticket and action it -- our service level agreement says we have it done within 5 days. OT is still available, but I find it hard to do a lot of that.

Home life is good, even with a 6th cat. Macky is getting along with Duchess (the one born almost 2 yrs ago now), and the older 4 are ok with her too. I forgot how much one more cat could poop, though. *sigh* Buddy the DogFace is ok with the latest addition, but he's getting crankier in his old age -- he turned 13 at Christmas.

I still don't have a lot of motivation to cut back on my food intake, or even better, track what I eat, but I'm still here. I'll find that happy medium soon (I hope!)

Spark! Spark! Hurry up and Spark, it's freezing out here!! :-)

Jo

Oh Glenda... Spring like weather.... That's music to my ears emoticon I love the thought of blooming flowers, warmer weather and a lighter jacket.... I love it so much I can almost smell it. For me it also means more rain and more likely hood of headaches and migraines but I think I'd trade it for the bug that I have right now.... The dry coughing is exhausting.
It's been one of those weeks that if I wasn't working I was in bed sleeping. Holy moly... I didn't know I could sleep 12 hrs spells with only 12 hours in between. Crazy!! So my focus this week was resting and hydration. Last night as I laid in bed and still awake at 3 am, made me realize, I'm not through my transition from nights back to days and that perhaps has played a part in this illness and how long it's taking to kick it the curb. I'll be glad when it gone.

Until then I will sit her on my couch and enjoy the view in my back yard of the frost glistening on the glass panelling as sun shines bright and Mr. Squirrel jumps from tree to tree and enjoy my tea, get my rest and keep looking ahead.

Have a great day ladies. Oh... And a day late but...

Happy Valentine's Day. emoticon

Spring is in the air here. Yay.... Soon I will be able to shed my heavy jacket for a lighter one.
I got a couple of walks in today after I finished my housework. Felt pretty good about that.
Dinner consisted of roast turkey, potatoes and some mixed veggies.. Yummy....
We are expecting some company from back home next month. I will get some more exploring in then. Love seeing new places.
Happy Valentines Day peeps...
Hugs...

Good morning!

I've had a good week. The evenings after work seemed to be busy but I still managed to get on the treadmill every day and I did two kettlebell sessions. I reduced my kettlebell workouts from 3 x sets to 2 x sets, however. I think I moved to 3 sets too early and my legs were tired in a bad, over-worked, "feels like lead" kind of way, instead of the "good" muscle-soreness.

My big "win" for the week was when I baked cupcakes for a coworker's birthday. I tried one and used chocolate hummus as frosting (instead of the sugary frosting that I used on the cupcakes I took to work). It was very good! I managed to resist having one with sugary frosting at work the next day. I'm finding that avoiding sugar is REALLY helping reduce my cravings so I don't like to have it, even if I have room in my daily calories. Dark chocolate doesn't seem to trigger those cravings, thank goodness.

Today I'm working from home and hoping that the storm doesn't hit us as hard as predicted (especially the freezing rain).

Have a good weekend, all!

Good morning ladies. How are things going?? Hope everyone is having a great week.
It's been a busy few days. I have been in the stores the past 2 days training. We completed 7 stores. The time goes by very fast which I love. I think working on my own in a retail environment will be a big change for me, but I'll adjust. I love the job and I feel like I will be really good at it one I learn to steps because there are things that stand out to me because of my experience. I'm very excited so bring it on!!!
As for this aspect of my life I'm taking it one step at a time. My focus this week was to commit to exercising 10 minutes everyday which I have done and tracking my exercise. As I have more free time I'll add things that will help but but I'm still trying to clean up my spark page and adjust my goals etc but I have 2 sessions to do on the laptop for training so once I get that done I'll be getting back to my at home workouts and in the very near future I'll be back to Aqua Zumba.
I'm so ready for. This change and look forward to getting caught up with you gals.

Chat soon. Have a great weekend.

Welcome aboard, Faith Ann! There's only a bit of chatter here every day, and we really would like it to be bigger chatter, so I hope you'll stay and have a cup of tea. :)

Glenda, it can be hard to get back here. With Day Job asking for OT, and Travel Agent gig starting to ramp up, it's getting harder to juggle. But I'll do it, and I'll keep coming here to post.

If you have SparkFriends who are from the Atlantic Coast, please share the word and let them know we're here!

Weekend was good, and weather made it so Wifey could leave around supper yesterday. Just another couple months and she'll be home for good....

Did I mention we have a new-to-us kitten - again? LOL Wifey brought home a little barn cat who had a cold, and Wifey couldn't bear to see this pretty little girl go back to live in the barn. She'll be spayed by April, and she's getting all her shots. And she'll be an indoor cat, like the rest of them. Her name: Mackie. Wifey wouldn't let me nickname her Mucous Mackie. LOL

Ok, back to the Day Job. Man, I'll be glad when we're caught up! ("Stay Calm and AccMan On!")

Later Dudettes!

Spark... spark... c'mon Spark! Light that fire under this Chunky Butt of mine!

@FAITHANNNB Let me be the first one to welcome you to the group. I'm Lori, better know as Newfiegirlhere, obviously from Newfoundland but living in Nova Scotia for the past 30 years.
Welcome welcome!! emoticon Congrats on your weightloss so far. Your doing great. Keep up the great work. emoticon

Hello hello my beautiful sparkies!! Yes it's meeee your long lost Newfiegirl. Sorry I've been on my hiatus. Doing the back shift for 8 months actually sucked the life right out of me. I was only supposed to work 24 hours a week but it turned into 35-40 most weeks. It left no to little time for anything.... Even my family. That job ended for backshift and they were forcing me into a job I didn't want so after much thought I gave my 2 weeks notice. My last day was Friday past. So, first on my list of priorities is ME!! I have put all my weight back on plus or minus a bit and I'm ready to get back at it. So here I am... Picking up where I left off almost a year ago. I won't be here everyday as I am starting a new job this week and have no idea when and where I'll be but I know this.... I'm back!! emoticon
Hope things are well ladies!! emoticon

Hi! I just joined this group last week (or the week before?). I havenít really checked into the groups in the past. I used SP several years ago to lose weight, but I came back last October to re-lose the weight I lost several years ago. Iím hoping to learn how to maintain better this time around. I just really, really love baking and food!!

Anyway, Iím down 35 pounds and have 18 to go. Iím spending a lot of time on the treadmill to avoid the ice and cold. Iíve also started using my kettlebells again. I really need to focus on strength training more.

I should have mentioned, my user name indicates my province. Iím in NB.

Ah February..... soon it will be Spring.... yay.......

Hey Jo.... thanks for starting us off in our new month. I donít know what has happened to our team? I realize people get busy but it only takes a few seconds to say hello. It makes me sad really and kinda lonely. We all have our ups and downs but there is strength in numbers.. just sayiní

Well thatís my rant for today.

I just got back from a walk and now I am going to brave the grocery store... one of my least favorite activities.

Take care and I will check in again soon...

Hugs....

And just like that, January is done.

And now, we have Freezing February to get through. Even with an extra day, it's still a short month.

How's it going?
