Happy that Teddy wasnít too mean... It would really spoil my image of a Teddy...
We have had a little rain and wind here also, but nothing compared to back home rains and wind.
I hear you Lori about the getting on track thing... I found that Covid really played with my stability and good routine I had going. I have had to really kick my own @$$ many many times..... which is really difficult with my bad hip... lol...
Well we are in the last few days of September and winter is just around the corner. I donít have any major plans but I think I will revamp my workouts somewhat. I still want to go on some of the trails here (close to home of course), but my indoor workouts I think I will update a bit. My eating has gotten a little out of hand as well (out of the hand and in the yap that is)... lol.. So I will be revamping that... (A constant work in progress!)
Anyways ladies just thought I would let you know I am still kicking around and my heart is with you all as we go through this together...

Hello ladies. Well Teddy has hit and thankfully it downgraded. I wasn't overly worried. With all the tress cut down and a new roof I could go to bed without a worry last night.

No Faith, no decision yet. I waited to see what would happen for the month of September with the interest rates. Nothing exciting there. Too much going on as well. Hubby has a store tour today so he has been flat out. I think we came to the conclusion that we will get a RAV4 as it is a very reliable and we will use a good chunk of savings as a down payment to lower the monthly payment. Covid is playing havoc on my hours. This week I have 8 hours. Stock is very slow coming in so no stock... Fewer hours. I am looking for a secondary job. I love this job but I don't see the hours picking up to the point that I need so doing something else as well would help.

So how is everyone making out these days?? I am in a real hard state. I can't seem to get on track at all. Usually fall is my time to get on track but I'm struggling!!!! Hoping something changes soon and I find my mojo.

Hope all is well with everyone!!

A 60 day login streak is VERY good Lori!! It is such a weird year, I think everyone has had come-and-go focus this year. I know I am really hitting pandemic fatigue. Every news report I read or hear seems to extend how long we will be living this way and that makes it even harder.

Have you decided on your new vehicle yet? Such a headache :(

Now I think I need to include lasagna on an upcoming meal plan. I don't usually make it in the summer, but it's definitely fall again. We have to go pick up the chemicals to close our pool this weekend.

Another sign of fall, I do a lot more meal prep for some reason. I guess I don't mind standing in the kitchen longer if the outside isn't calling me. Anyway, evening meals this week have been so much easier since I got so much prepped on the weekend. We shall see if I do the same this upcoming weekend... which is inching closer :)

Wow Faith, one year of workouts. That's amazing... And takes a lot of dedication. I thought having a 60 day login steak was exciting. A year of workouts?? Great job girl!!! I wish I could get that focused. I can't seem to stay on track with any of my goals these days. I don't seem to have the drive or motivation. Feeling kind of uninterested. I joined the biggest loser challenge and am barely getting it done. So great job!!!

So we are at the cottage for probably the last time. Yesterday was gorgeous, we were on the skis the whole day, swimming in between rides. It's our best friends birthday weekend so we did a little hardier birthday meal. I think we all had our fill of burgers so we made lasagna and garlic bread and passed on the birthday cake and did a crispy crunch cool whip dessert. Much lighter and everyone loved it.
Today I believe we are taking the docks out. It's sad to know that summer really is over. If we don't take them out today it will be at least another two weeks before hubby can help and it's a 4 person job. It doesn't take long but it's hard work to get them stacked. Next thing you know we will be planning a skating party on the ice. Something to look forward to but I seriously can't even believe the kids are back to school, even though they were off for almost 6 months.

So how is everything going with you ladies?
Glenda, did you get to see any orcas after?? And Faith sorry too to hear that it will be late fall before you get vacation. I'd be going crazy by now. Do you mind me asking what you do. I feel like every deserves a vacation so them saying you can't take any time off us very unfair. You have worked the entire summer. .... Not fair at all!!!

Is there anyone else still on board with us??

Well, I must go check in with my family on Facebook and she if my brother caught his moose yet. Stay safe everyone.

Lori

Definitely Fall!

First day of school today. If someone told me a year ago that today I'd be sending my kid off to grade 12 with multiple face masks tucked in his binder and I'd be thrilled to make lunches again after having him home for 6 months... not sure how I would respond to that! Definitely mixed feelings on this first day of school.

Work. Where to begin. Got the dates that need to be "hit" on Friday and it's going to remain crazy until Oct 23/26. If I can't start using some vacation time then, I might lose my mind. It's basically not possible for me to use all of my vacation time this year if I can't start taking time off until November... not the happiest camper about that situation.

Workouts! One week from today and I will have a one-year workout streak! Kind of excited to have stuck with it because when I started, I sure did not think I'd hit a year.

Hope all is well with everyone!!

I'd definitely like to see some rain around here, Jo! Holy cow, it's been a dry summer... and my veggie boxes have definitely shown a lack of berries compared with previous years. The local berries are SO much better than the imported varieties at the grocery store.

I am so glad the physio has been helping!! Sounds like your health is getting back on track, that must make you feel much more positive about things!

Sending good interview vibes...

So here's our new check in board for the month.

Lori, glad to see you're able to take some time off to get ready for back to work/school. I really don't know how Moms do it. :-)

Glenda... orcas! I remember getting to see them ONCE during my time on Van Island, and it was during a crossing from Island to Mainland. They weren't there long, and migrating season had just begun. Hang in there, you'll see one!

Faith, yes, you got a warmer day today. Thank you for that wish! Could you also ask for rain for NB? The berry pickings were really slim this year.

CanadianIvory, are you still with us? I hope so, it's great to hear from others in the Atlantic provinces!

As for me, I can't get over how quickly my knee is healing. I was able to do some WATP for about 10 mins at a slower pace, but it was an awesome start. I've left a msg for the ortho-inserts office that I'm in urgent need of new inserts. They're closed until the 8th, so I only have to hold on a little longer.

Remember incontinence? I had physio for the pelvic floor, and after she showed me several tweaks to kegels and breathing exercises, I slept through the night last night. That's gotta be the first time in many months. And today, I continued to practice, and I was able to get to 3 hrs before needing to pee for real. O.M.G!! If you are suffering from needing to pee often, or sneeze/laugh = leakage, ask your doc for Pelvic Floor Physio! You will NOT regret it!

So yeah, life is starting to feel like I'm in control of the things I should have control over.

And Wifey has another interview tomorrow! We're pumped, and I really hope she gets this one, since it's the only 24-hr animal hospital in NB. I'll keep you posted!

Later Sparkers!

Jo
