Up and out running this morning. Did 3.3 miles around Triangle Town Center in about 40 minutes.

HANGRY - it was a nice trail. The trail head at the soccer park was a little difficult to find. It is all the way in the back with no signage to get you there. The whole time I was on it, the path was paved and marked well with mile markers and "street signs", telling you what entrances/exits you were at. I plan to ride or run it frequently now that I know where it is.

MBEVANS - Welcome to the party! Glad we could help get you motivated and giving you some new ideas for working out! Hope you are able to get a good swim in before work a couple times this week.

Thanks Lynn! I think I'm going to take it easy today, feeling a little sore, so time for a little extra stretching. I scheduled a run with my neighbor for 4pm tomorrow afternoon. I'm not used to running with anyone so this could be interesting.

BigB.... that is so impressive and wonderful. That is a long ride and a fast one. You're cardio is definitely working for you. It is good to go out and try to see how far you've come and you definitely made some great improvements ... CONGRATULATIONS!

My plan this evening was to lift some weights since I have been purely focused on cardio workouts for the past 16 days. Well, one thing led to another, and I ended up taking my bike out and hitting the Neuse River Greenway trail starting at the WRAL Soccer Park off of Perry Creek. I ended up doing nearly 15 miles in 75 minutes, keeping a pace just shy of 12 mi/hr, with a max speed at just a touch under 30 mph. I hadn't intended on riding at all, and haven't been on a ride more than 6 mikes in the past....um....10+ years? Anyways, it felt great getting out there and riding again but I have a strange feeling that my bum is going to hurt in the morning!

Hope you guys enjoyed your Friday!

Great for you getting in the pool to swim again this morning. emoticon that streak going you have there.
And yes lawn mowing would be a HUGE workout. I miss having a lawn to mow. :)
Getting ready to leave in a few to go do my workout, had errands to run this morning so I am doing the afternoon class and then some strength training....
Hope you both are having a great day!

Thanks for the encouragement. I swam another 45 minutes this morning. It does lead to a better day.

Be sure to give your self credit for mowing the lawn. any type of movement is beneficial.

I didn't do any "formal" exercise today' but I did mow the lawn. I started getting some back pain after running yesterday so I'm seeing my chiropractor tomorrow before work. Looking forward to my adjustment!

Great job on the 42 min swim! I'm not sure I'd have the endurance to swim that long any more.

I started a run today and then the skies opened up! I was on a trail run and I was concerned about the roots and rocks getting slippery so I decided to turn around and call it a day. I think tomorrow will be a good day for rest since it is supposed to storm off and on all day.
