I agree with Carol. Being a good friend and giving support for her when in need is priceless. Sounds like you have a wonderful supportive 55+ neighborhood.

I also heard about the Red Flags and getting points for voting for teams. I have voted for the Raleigh team and some of my other favorites. I know one of my groups I am on does a thread each day to post how many points they earned for voting for that team. Maybe another good idea to try to get a little action for Raleigh team.

This has been a busy week for me, but I was hoping to spend a little time e-mailing active Raleigh team members, just to mention our daily chat and hopefully get more people involved. To me it is like having coffee together chatting virtually..

Sometimes it is more important to be a good friend and just not worry about what you ate or didn't eat.
Today I was thinking about the days I ate at high end or over calories and the next day showed a weight loss. Remember that the biggest problem with eating out is the sodium and water retention. Give it 4 or 5 days and you will be back to normal. Drink lots of water tomorrow to flush your system!!!

The road to hell is paved with good intentions! I got up this morning and did my stretching exercises and that's about all I accomplished regarding healthy eating. I made a quick run to Costco and it went downhill from there. A neighbor has had rotator cuff surgery and then ended up in the hospital with diverticulitis and will definitely be needing surgery in the next few weeks. As soon as they get the inflammation under control she will be scheduled. Meanwhile she is unable to do much for herself. The 55+ Community where I have settled (since mid November) has a very active Singles Group and we look out for each other. Today was my day to bring her lunch. She requested Chicken Pastry from Carolina BBQ so I bought 2 of them and ate with her. She is understandably lonely, so I stayed and we chatted for several hours. Then 7 of us went to Moonrunners for their wonderful ribs. I just now got home, and it's almost 8pm! So not only have I NOT gotten any substantial exercising done I have eaten 2 meals that should probably be on my "do not eat, EVER" list! There is still time to get in one or two of Nicole's videos. Off to do some redemptive movement!

Attitude is everything, pick a good one!

"It works if you work it, and it won't if you don't."

ONCE YOU GET THERE....DON'T GET COCKY,
IT'S EASY TO FALL RIGHT BACK DOWN.

Certainly I have a 6-pack. You just can't see it through my soft sided cooler!

Cloudy today in Raleigh, but still a nice day. I got my 60 minutes water aerobics in, but not sure what the next few days will bring.
Sharon, are you familiar with the Team Bonus Points you can get on the Start Page? One team I joined recently made me aware of this. Go to Start Page, go down to section 3 (Community) and your teams are listed on the right. You hit the red flag and points will pop up. It helps raise the team standing. (You do have to have points earned on your page for nutrition, Fitness, etc. before you get points on Start Page.)
Today I could hit 5 flags and earned more than 50 points for teams AND it is also added to my daily points. I do not know if I might be able to earn more by the end of the day, but will check that out.
Then the team has a thread where you can record your points for that team each day.
Just a thought!
Talk later, Carol

Good Morning Team! Happy Thursday! emoticon

It is another beautiful morning here in Raleigh, NC. I am enjoying my Cinnamon Spice Coffee with the doors open planning out my day.
In a bit I will do 34 minute Cardio Blast for my warm up. Then I plan on pushing myself out the door for a Run. I am thinking of running 8-10 miles... Maybe more since we have predicted rain for this weekend. I am training for Half Marathon September 20th. My last one was in FL- 2010 prior to moving back to NC.
Later today I will be taking my mother to Aquatic Physical Therapy.. She will be working out in the pool.... Since she was in the ER Tuesday her BP seems to be back to normal. Her follow-up appointment is Friday.

Wishing all a great day! Hope to see you here on our daily chat. Just a small way to get a little action on our team!! Hopefully we will have a team leader soon.
