Well I can't say that I remember what my weight was on October 3rd....but on 10/8 I weighed at 211.4 Ibs which i lost over a Ib...the official weigh in is October 10th though.

I'm ready to try this challenge again for October. I tried in September, but had too many family celebrations and vacations to make much progress. I hope to lose 1 pound a week in October.

10/2 - 211 starting weight
10/9 - 210 lost one pound...finally! It's been over a month since the scale moved!
10/16- 210 stayed the same
10/23- 209 lost one pound...that one was a tough one!
10/30- 209 stayed the same, so lost 2 pounds for the month. I'm happy with that..it's been a challenging month! I don't think I'll be trying any new challenges now for the rest of the year, with the holidays coming up. I'll plan to maintain, and be happy if I happen to lose. Good luck to everyone!

I'll jump in with this goal. It may be tough this month, with several family birthdays to celebrate, but I'll see how it goes.

9/4 - 211 Well, didn't lose, but didn't gain either...
9/11 - 211 Holding steady. Life has thrown a few curve balls this month, so I think I'll change my goal to maintaining. I'd love to lose, but if I maintain I'll be happy, and try to lose again next month. Good luck to all still in the challenge!

Beginning Month #5 with Breaking 200 March 28- April 24

Generally, my blood sugars been averaging below 140 but I'm still needing to adjust to making different nutritional choices to compensate for the insulin I'm having to take. I found out I can't wait the usual 4-6 hours between meals, I've got to eat 6 small meals daily. What work! and when I get it wrong I bust the calorie count. I'm hold at 221 so hopefully, I'll start losing again soon.

Beginning Month #4 with Breaking 200 Feb 29-March 27

Hi there, well, I've recovered from my hospital stay and am ready to amp up my progress. My focus will be keeping my blood sugars below 140 by making good nutritional choices, some cardio every day and 1-2 strength training sessions per week, most likely on Friday, Sunday, and /or Wednesday. Realistically, I want to lose 5.6 pounds this month, ending at 211.0.Will also do a 5K on St. Patrick's Day.

Beginning Month # 3 with Breaking 200 Jan 31- Feb 28

Carla here, again I lost 5.8 pounds from Dec 27- Jan 31 and I finished my first 5K for the year on yesterday with a time of 0:54:39 which is a 17:36 minute mile. If I ever have a hope at placing in an event, I'll have to progress to under a 10-minute mile, So, I've got a bit of work ahead of me. I didn't get a lot of training days in due to illness but I'll be on the treadmill at least 3x week this month I expect to break 200 sometime this month.

Hi, Carla here, I lost 7.8 pound from November 28- Dec 27. I started out a 211.2, gained 10 pounds on a work trip (Dec 2-5) and am just a few ounces from the 211.2 again. My goal is enter ONEDERLAND by January 31st. I'm training for a 1/30/16 5K so I expect to meet the goal on target or earlier.

Month #1 Hello - My name is Carla,

I just finished a challenge and lost about 10 pounds over the past 3 months. This is the lightest I've been in 15 years. I weighed in at 207.4 on yesterday on my old scale (my security blanket) and 209.4 today.I have 1 more active challenge to complete with that scale - then I will through it away.

I'm transitioning to a body composition scale that has me about 2.5 - 3 pounds heavier, which has rave reviews accuracy. I'm started all new challenges with this new scale.

Today I weighed in at 211.2 on the Body Comp scale so that's my start weight.

0.7 lb down. It's not much, but it's something. With this flu, and staying at home (today is Day 4) it's a miracle I didn't gain.

10.5 lbs until Onederland!

SHOOQWEEN, I agree, we have to celebrate each accomplishment and each win over our weight, even if it's not gaining, it's still a right way to live healthily.

Stayed the same this week. I guess that's better than a gain. Tomorrow starts weight training so I am hoping that getting some muscle back on this body will help burn some calories and get this weight going in the right direction.

Gained 2lbs this week. I know why so I am going to quit doing that. Even though I gained I am not letting it get me down. Took the dogs out for a walk in the park today and back on the right eating track. emoticon

I am getting in on this one as well. I lost 1.5 last week. My official weigh in day is Sunday. I try to stay off the scale the rest of the week.

* That I can't believe I lost 8 lbs in 5 days, wow! I realize that ANYTHING is possible!
* That even though I am getting burned OUT on protein shakes, I know it is a NECESSARY EVIL and that I need protein IN my body to prevent muscle loss.... so even though shakes are YUCKY... I drink it with a STRAW so I won't taste it as much.... I drink it very quickly with a straw towards the back of my throat JUST to get it over with LOL.
* That I am WILLING to DO THE WORK to get the results that I want for MY body.
* That I am getting ADDICTED to exercise by some MIRACLE! lol funny but true.
* That I am getting ADDICTED to the RESULTS that exercise AND a diet change brings of a feeling of a :

GREAT accomplishment, emoticon
feeling of euphoria emoticon
and the wt. scale going down emoticon QUICKLY, yeh!!!

7/8/15 = Wednesday, got up from bed STILL SORE... my body is sore from exercise... I don't care... I am GOING running, yeh!!!!!

my CORE ROUTINE is: M,W, F run for 45 seconds, recovery walk for 50 seconds and repeat this over and over until 20 minutes have passed and then I go back IN the office to work.

Once I did it for 25 minutes last week.

Yesterday Tuesday on my OFF day from exercise I did it for 15 minutes.

I just want to keep MOVIN' ..... by some miracle its a FUN addiction for me!

.... I am STILL drinking my protein shake everyone morning.... ONLY because it is 30 grams of protein plus 8 grams of protein with the non-fat milk I put IN the shake.

.... I am STILL using the cup method the rest of the day at early morning and night.

.... I STILL sip on cans of soup.... soup most liquid.

Example: tomato soup

Example: chicken noodle soup = I just throw OUT the noodles and drink the broth.

this has resulted in a ONE pound loss per day



note: 7/8/15 Wednesday = no protein shake this morning, got busy and forgot to make it and drink it. but did have tomato soup for lunch and sunflower seeds for snack after lunch at work, and ran and walked for 25 minutes today and took the stairs UP 3 long flights this morning to my office and after my run today, yeh!!!!

7/7/15 = woke up SORE this morning and I looked at my exercise yesterday and what I did DIFFERENT that would result in soreness... answer: I used 2 machines instead of just doing the 5K run training that I do 3 x per week.

6:00 a.m. = 50 pulls on the Health Rider machine on my porch


6:15 a.m. = 10 below the waist stomach pull ups on the Tower Power machine


10:00 a.m. = Train for the 5K at work, outside (jogging & walking for 25 min. @ 3x per wk.)


or it could be that I INCREASED my 5K Training to 25 minutes instead of 20 minutes

note sure.

1. Because this is my experience and reality: it DOSENT matter that I can only eat small amounts of food at a time = what you may not understand is that I am STILL OVER-EATING which results in maintaining my current obesity or results in weight GAINS and scale fluctuations.

2. Because I am tired of living in hell of food obsessions and constantly GRAZING all day from the moment I wake up. I am thinking about and acting upon FOOD all day long. Food completely and utterly controls my life and I am obsessed with it. I want to learn how to eat for nutrition instead of eating for a taste or texture obsession.

3. Because it is TIME to get CONTROL of my addiction and this is the ONLY way I know how.... to create my OWN plan and stick to it as much as possible. Seriously.

Protein shakes = 8 oz serving is 30 grams of protein, 170 carbs, 2.5 fat, 7 carbs
Non-fat dry milk added to the pro shake for increased protein, 80 cal, 0 fat, 12 carbs, 8 pro

so that's what I had today, ONE protein shake, ONE cup of fat free milk, hot tea several times, popsicles, lollipops, sunflower seeds, water.

had one episode of emesis. and one episode of the cup method.

No physical activity other than washing dishes and cleaning out the bathroom sink, that was it.

now I will lay down, read a book and watch TV and nibble on a popsicle and sunflower seeds.


update: 11:30pm I pureed a can of soup called: Campbells split pea with ham soup. I put it in a blender with a can of water, ok I forgot to put the lid on and some of the soup spilled out but overall it was purred very smoothly with NO lumps. lol

so I slowly sipped on 2 cups of green pea purreed soup.

11:30pm = Campbells split pea with ham soup. emoticon
cal: 360, fat 4, 58 carbs 58, fiber 10, pro 22

note: Sipping on hot soup was: delicious.

it was thick, and hot in temperature and wonderful.
I sipped on it and sometimes I used a spoon :-) smiles.
it was food in LIQUID FORM, yeh!!!!


any regrets?

12:23pm = I am thinking I could have skipped on the soup an hour ago.

why?

Because I feel guilty that:
1. I drank TWO cups of soup instead of one to practice portion control.
2. I could have done WITHOUT the 360 calories consumed so late at night.. sighs.

Wow! I can't believe they are about the same age. I'm back on track & hopefully will see onederland by the end of July. Two reasons I'm back in action is (Bewal) & my friend in high school who I haven't seen in ages posted pics of her Caribbean cruse in a bikini. She has a flawless body. I couldn't believe we are the same age. I let myself go & she didn't. I can't correct some of the things like sagging skin but I can loss the weight & tone up by exercise.

I am in!
Need to loose about 50 lbs to reach my goal before knee surgery (which I am planning for January 2016) So that means about 25 lbs to onderland! Started up again this last Fall with the Virgin diet and lost quickly weight but need to stay on track. Hope to make some connections here and have some fun!

I'm in. Started in 2010 & still losing & gaining the same 30 lbs. Time to break this cycle! As of 1/3/15 I have been back on track & doing well. Some weeks a loss of 3 lbs. & sometimes no loss for two weeks. At least the scale is going in the right direction. Speaking for my own body = I believe my weight scale started moving DOWN because I changed the way I eat into small healthier choice meals, increased my protein intake and stopped eating tootsie rolls

AND got UP off my naturally lazy a-- and moved my body for a couple of days LOL.... seriously. shocking but true LOL

What are your plans for: Thanksgivng emoticon and Xmas? emoticon **


Thanksgiving plans =

* I plan to go to Walmart on Thanksgiving Day

and stand IN line @ 4pm for the 6pm Black Friday sale that begins at 6pm.

WHY?

For a 50-inch Emerson Television that is on sale for $218.00 emoticon

It will be worth standing in line for it... emoticon emoticon emoticon
and they have the 1-hour guarantee... that if you are online and you get to the front and they run out of t.v.'s then Walmart will give you a ticket GUARANTEEING you that same t.v. by Christmas! emoticon

so YES I am getting a 50-inch T.V. for ONLY $218.00 plus tax, yahoo!!!!


Tomorrow: 11/21/14 I will partake in a Thanksgiving luncheon at work emoticon and NOT overdo it... absolutely NOT.

NOTE: ordinarily I would have piged out on the Holidays but NOT this year..
